To you residing outside your fatherland and reading this, I pray you never experience what Sukkot is talking about.

I wish you well in that foreign land where you reside; flourish, never stop to settle, acknowledge the power of God and proper networking, take up jobs to increase your income and savings/ investments, live below your means and send money back home as often as you can.

And if calamity such as this still visits you, it is my prayer that it doesn’t break you.
my dear it’s nobodies portion. The way we pray on this earth like say some humans are better or luckier than another.

God works in mysterious ways. It has happened to a lot people. Meaning those ones never prayed against it abi??

The fact that you know many people whom this has happened to is a reflection of the poor quality of your circle, not the general reality for people who travel abroad. It's because those people are entering the country illegally that it takes them decades to 'fully settle in terms of papers'.

People who enter the country legally and have their papers from day 1 are free to, and often do travel around the world, including Europe, the US, and wherever else including back home to Nigeria to visit as they wish, whether they're students or workers or whatever else.

So, dear Mr. Sukkot, make new friends or get new family members who don't go about traveling illegally, and you'll stop hearing these kinds of stories, and hopefully stop boring us with them as well.

It is very common in Nigeria. Most of Nigerians relocating abroad are in category of hustlers. Even if their papers are intact, they may still not be able to afford flight costs. Most rich Nigerians only travel abroad for vacations or shopping or businesses, they don't relocate. So, don't make this about him and his circles.

Guy UK is not US. You can't get a job if you don't a visa that allows you to work. I also don't understand this 10 to 15 years you're saying. It's not nollywood now. If you like spend 50 years, if you're illegal, you are going back.

By the way, why would you ever need to spend that much on flight? Is it flight to heaven?

Even Lagos and Abuja here that doesn't need paper, some people won't still come back to see sick parents, let alone abroad.

Moreover there coming back will not heal the sick, so save your emotion for other things

So many skills bro... there are demands in IT, healthcare, even in education depending on the country you're going to.

People who have vocational skills like welding, plumbing etc also have opportunities if they can document their experience.

doesn’t have to be illegal. You could be stuck because of too many bills. No savings
So if they don't have money, why are you asking that will they or will they not come home when they already have no choice in the matter?

One could leave the UK and travel out to wherever one wants if you enter into the country legitimately.
If you have the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) as a student, worker or a dependant, you could enter and go out so far you have your money for flight and informed your school or took permission from your place of work

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS DESERVE DEPORTATION..

Many stuck here cannot afford to help their dying parents because they don't have money to take them to the hospital. They are physically here but without money. If you have money you can make arrangements to help your parents even if you are not there physically. I'm not saying one is good or another is bad, I'm just stating the reality

Why dont you add a caveat to your post? The title is misleading. You could have simply said For illegal Japarians.

I don't see why you can't travel to and fro Nigeria if you're a legal immigrant but as usual, agenda must agend.

And it's not like it's your own personal experience. Amebo!

There are many Nigerians in the same Uk who got work permit to work as auditors, nurses, tech , doctors,HR etc directly from Nigeria. There is post graduate work permit of 2 years for students who graduated. Many that could not get job after studies settled for care work 5 years work permit. All these categories listed above can travel to Nigeria at will.

Only people who cant leave are illegal immigrants whose visas have expired. Some of them could not come home for their own weddings talkless of burial. Abeg what is the big deal there now Person wey stay country illegally doesn’t have a choice na. This topic no follow.

OP is encouraging illlegal.immigration.
And violation of visa terms and overstaying visa.
Normal legal.immigrant .person on .minimum wage should be able to Exit and reenter the country; take permission from work and afford $1000-$1800 for to and fro ticket. Once in 5years at least. If to just show face for house. I know people who go home every 3years. Precaution is not to exit country for more than 90days/3mo in a year if sb is still temporary status and not yet with green card.

Asians that came same time in the 90s have bought the whole of UK.
Go to any private schools in UK, they are filled with Indians and not even whites.
The Indian landlord of my former church own all the buildings on that street, up to 18 houses.
In fact those guys are done with houses now. They are now buying care homes and hotels in the uk, they then import their Indians into the country to work in the hotels and care home.
These Asians guys came into UK with nothing.

What I will never understand is what exactly were Nigerians doing same time these Asians were doing the hard work and buying up everywhere.

So are we going to pretend that we don't have a sizeable amount of Nigerians in this category. Entering a country illegally.

Are we pretending we don't know people who go with tourist visa and hope magic will happen. Even this NL you will still see upon all the threads for proper relocation available.

We pretend a lot in this country sha. Pele OP.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS SHOULD BE DEPORTED.
THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS IN THAT COUNTRY BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT INVITED.
END OF DISCUSSION.

So this topic has to be explored because I know many people personally under this category. Now I don’t know about other countries but let’s focus on the UK for this topic.

I know that unless you are extremely lucky it is going to take you between 10 to 15 years to fully settle in terms of papers and money and career and housing etc. in between that time you are running from pillar to post and the silent prayer is that God please don’t let my mother or father fall sick within this 10 to 15 year timespan or else I am most likely never going to see them again.

Well I have many friends and relatives who this happened to. In that time span that they are still unsettled and looking for paper or money, mama get cancer for naija. They are stuck abroad. Mama eventually die. So they never got to see their mother for over 10 years and will never see her again.

So I guess the question is if you find yourself in a situation like this, being in the UK for over 8 years and papers never correct so you are stuck, then you hear that your mother is dying.

WHAT DO YOU DO? DO YOU ABORT MISSION AND RETURN BACK TO NIGERIA TO BE WITH YOUR DYING MOTHER KNOWING YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO RETURN TO THE UK AGAIN OR DO YOU JUST FASHI MAMA AND LET HER DIE WHILE YOU CoNTINUE YOUR QUEST TO LOOK FOR PAPERS AND POUNDS ? What would you do?
I moved to Canada as a PR on May 12th 2022. Started working a job in my field on May 24th 2022 . Moved out of friend’s apartment on June -
1 2022 after receiving my first salary . Stayed at an air bnb house hunting till September 30, 2022. Moved to my apartment October 1, 2022. Traveled to Nigeria for Christmas/new year holiday on December 27, 2022. Returned to Toronto on January 18, 2023. Visited South Africa on holiday on June 16,2023. Decided to visit Nigeria from there on june 24th,2023. Returned to Canada on june 30, 2023. Godwilling I’ll be in Nigeria for Christmas 2023. All this it takes 15 years talk is BS. I know lots of people who moved to Canada via express entry that travel in and out . If you move abroad through the proper channel you’ll not be stuck anywhere.

Why Airbnb when cheap hotels still abound.

you come from jand to move into cheap hotels ? That’s how they kidnap you people and use you for ritual. So ticket cost, hotels, the whole process and settling people ? And hiring cars ? You better hold at least 5000k pounds if you don’t want to suffer

Dumb black man, in case u dont know that's how your race dominates other races. By controlling resources both within and outside your country.

The white man's reign was at his peak when they controlled the whole world.

Typical black man with limited vision, I'm buying up my own country' which Nigeria are u buying...oniro.

The people buying Nigeria are politicians and their few cronies. Then talk of Lebanese and Chinese who are in good books of the politicians.

Better thank God a Yoruba man is now in control. At least, small riba will now leak to southern Nigeria. Otherwise, how many southerners get mouth for that country ?
