@giselle237 and other sabi minds
please I need your opinion.I am applying to attend my sister's graduation. I want to book a hotel on booking.com for the purpose of my application. (My sister stays in 1 room apartment)
My problem is, I have not seen any hotel that accepts payment on arrival. They're all requesting my card details to complete the process. What do I do? Help a novice please. I've travelled out before(not Uk) but stayed with family so I'm new to this hotel booking thing.

I appreciate your speedy response. I hope they won't see it as inconveniencing a student in her one room?

Depends on the aggrements he met when booking the flight. Most times Nigerians don't book with option of changing flight booking or cancellation of flight. Because that will mean you will almost pay an additional 20% grin

If he didn't do this, your guess is as good as mine that the money has gone

The visit visa will be cancelled once the dependent visa goes live as can not be visitor and temporary resident at same time but yes with dependent visa can go and come at any time.
They'll cancel the visit visa ? Hmm

He has a choice then, maybe just do visit visa for his son and keep the son with him in Nigeria.

Make sure you read the fine print before canceling a non-refundable ticket because most airlines won't give you a refund if it has been more than 24 hours since you made the payment.

Quick one please, do you have an idea of the number of days before biometrics that an applicant would no longer be able to upload supporting documents
thanks

u can self upload until the day of the biometrics. However it’s best to conclude this before stepping out for the biometrics incase there are any mistakes you can correct them without going late for your biometrics .
You are also more organised

Visa Alert!!!
Visit visa 6 Months granted for my mum.
She is visiting my family in the UK because I had a baby recently, I’m the sponsor and I applied for her.

She retired from civil service 10 years ago and has been doing petty trade.
I added all evidence of her employment and retirement
I added family pictures (in MS word with descriptions)
Added letter of attestation from her husband
Added pictures of her in her shop
Added her bank statement
Added a letter of self-introduction
In addition to the above, I added a lot of Sponsor evidence to support her application.

Biometrics was done in the new PH centre and decision arrived in 6 working days.

I didn’t transfer any bulk money to her account as that’s risky. Her account only had about 80k naira.

I uploaded:
Letter of invitation/sponsorship
Letter of consent to upload my personal docs
Proof of employment
6 months bank statements
6 months payslip
MatB1 form
Tenancy agreement
Utility bills
BRP
Passport data page
Couldn’t find my birth certificate to prove she is my mother so I used pictures from my wedding.

Good evening everyone.
Please I have some questions and I’d like if @Giselle @Cashmadam or anyone else can help out
So I’m applying for a uk visit visa. A friend is inviting me so I have an invite and my uncle wants to sponsor me. I am employed and I’ve gotten a letter from my employer, I’d provide 6 months statement from my salary account which has almost 2m savings and I also have my payslips but my uncle’s account has so much money and that’s why I want to use it (plus he’s actually my sponsor). I just want to know if I am doing the right thing by having a different sponsor and a different person sending the invite…
Also, please I was told my sponsor has to draft a letter to justify why he’s sponsoring me and the relationship between us, can anyone please give me a sample.., what and what do we include in the letter?

Thank you 🙏🏽

I don’t know how old you are but you should be aware that they expect you to have your own money as an adult and they will judge your application from that point of view.
How much is your monthly salary? How much is your monthly expenses and why would you want to spend your 2m naira savings on a visit to the UK. All these questions are what they will be expecting you to answer.
Again, the important question is, can you afford this trip on your own based on your current circumstances?
As for any letter sample you need you can find them by a simple google search.

I'm trying to apply for a visitor visa to the UK. I would like to know what the process of booking an appointment is like with TLS. Any idea what the earliest appointment dates are?

Hi.. thanks for the response.
So I have some savings in PiggyVest and I was a thinking I’d move it to my salary account but then won’t they suspect foul play? Would I need to get a statement of account of my PiggyVest (that’s if it’s possible) to show that I’ve had the money there all along or can I just explain in my personal statement that I’ve had savings in my piggyvest account before I started my current job? I can fund the trip on my own but I wanted to avoid having to explain all these money movements that’s why I thought I’d use my uncles account and he’s actually the one sponsoring the trip.
What do you think?
Thank you.

You can obtain your statement of account from PiggyVest but you will still explain the source of monies that are not your salary.
Moving money from your piggyvest to your salary account isn’t advisable.

You can only be redirected to the TLS contact from the Gov.uk website after you have submitted and paid for your visa application - no other way.
In terms of appointment availability, the last I checked Abuja didn’t have any availability but VI does, PH and Enugu (both new premium centres) do.

Being the sole sponsor, how much did you use for her and was the money in your account for 6months? Or it got accumulated over 6 months!

Hey guys. Could someone please help with suggestions for my situation below?

I’m planning to apply for a visa about six months from now. I’m trying to build my account and want to make it as clean as possible. The only credit to my account is my salary. I earn relatively well, and have very few expenses. I have about 800k disposable income that’s left every month from my salary.

The issue is, the Naira keeps losing value. I want to be converting my disposable income to dollars and keeping it in my dom account instead of saving in Naira. I have a BDC person that I can send the Naira to, and he will credit my dom account with the dollar equivalent. But I’m worried about how to explain this to an ECO when it’s time to apply for the visa. Basically, there will be a huge debit to my salary account (to the BDC) and then a huge credit to my dom account (from BDC).

I’m scared that an ECO will not understand this and might deny my visa for unexplainable transactions that are different from my stated salary and expenditure.

Any suggestions? Should I try to get the BDC to issue me receipts for every Naira debit and dollar credit? Will that be sufficient?

The alternative is to leave all my disposable income in the salary account, but who knows how much value the money would have lost six months from now?

Get tge BDC guy to print you a receipt for each transaction.

Keep the receipts and attach to your application.

Good morning everyone.
Please I need urgent answers to these question.
My boyfriend who has a visitor visa to Uk was denied boarding by Royal air maroc official because his return ticket is from Turkish airline.
As per policies, I want to be believe all airlines are independent and royal air has no business with his return ticket.
I am so pained, frustrated and confused.
What can I do?

Sorry. Apologies to him on his experience. I don’t really know what you can do but send an official complaints to the customer care of the airline and escalate it from there.
Did he have a valid Turkish Airlines ticket actually booked and paid for on his travel date? If yes, I would escalate all concerns until everything is refunded. Drag them everywhere draggable on SM if it gets to that.
think they find the airlines when a passenger travels on a one way ticket when it’s a visit visa.
If you are buying tickets from Wakanow, Travel start etc you would notice immediate you book a one way ticket they would call you up to ask you why.
If you go on to say, I have a studnet visa or a work visa, then they would proceed to issue your tickets.

It is because of the huge fines they pay when visitors travel on one way tickets and never return. Ordinarily if the Turkish airlines ticket is also valid I don’t understand why they did this. Royal Maroc is Morroco’s airline and sometimes they can be quiet intense with fellow Africans especially if it’s a Nigerian. Egypt air does the worst out of the bunch.
