It is interesting to see the friendship and conversations between Pere and Mercy.
It is inspiring to see Mercy saying she loves Whitemoney for being innocent, simple and non-malicious.
Mercy says, while eating with Pere who is swooning on her, that her heart is with Whitemoney for the virtues she sees in him. She says she doesn't need a man's money because she can handle her finances but wants a mature man who is not playing. She says she doesn't want 'bad boys' anymore.
Pere replies that she is getting into a phase that requires that manner of commitment.


What makes this all surreal is that someone, or some people on this thread had written that this would happen this a long time ago. Back then, it wasn't too clear what Mercy was doing with Whitemoney, and I really once caught Soma on the show before he was evicted saying to his crew that Mercy told him in private that she doesn't like Whitemoney. Apparently, Mercy wants to 'settle down' and sees a chief like Hazel as a possible long-term partner. It is no doubt that the fact that he is also a previous winner may play a role in her mind.

It tells me, ultimately, that many women in our country do not date for love - but 'based on logistics'. Whitemoney simply loves Mercy because she looks good, simple easy love. it is not to say that Mercy doesn't have a sweet character when she chooses to be simple and straight, but she is also quite 'street' when that side of her is exposed. No man in conservative Africa - and Hazel (Whitemoney) is a conservative African - would love to hear his fiancé say what Mercy told Pere, 'I do not mind knacking here, it is not anything, but I am not a single woman now'.

During the Oraimo game master issue where the vultures were gathering, Mercy said something "If to say we know all those times, we for done hold am, pet am, pet am". Kayode just caught on that statement right after advert. The housemates especially Mercy has come to believe that they enabled her game by allowing the pity and bullying narrative to fly.
