This is why I say you guys aren't serious people

Good, you are on point. That's what the democrats would use to curtail persons from serving in any position.
Is that rule cast in stone? Does it apply to an elected post.
Again if that's a rule, Trump has been indicted yet he is running for President. Implies the republican rules hold more water than national laws, eh?
Get lost. Bloody fool.

Never Trust Democrats.Biden seems to have made a deal with McCarthy wrt Ukraine funding.

Support for funding for Ukraine has been a key
sticking point in Rep. Matt Gaetz's bid to oust
McCarthy, with the Florida Republican
accusing McCarthy of making a "side deal"
with Biden on Ukraine funding to get
Democratic support to avoid a government
shutdown. McCarthy, now the subject of
Gaetz's motion to vacate, has denied this
claim.
Biden, who has emphasized the importance of
funding Ukraine, was asked by a reporter on
Sunday if he was going to be able to trust
Speaker McCarthy when the next deal comes
around.
"We just made one about Ukraine", Biden
replied. "So, we'll find out".

The White House has since declined to clarify
what deal Biden had been referring to, or even
say if Biden and McCarthy had actually made
a deal at all. Rather, officials have pointed to
McCarthy’s public support for military aid to
Kyiv.

McCarthy was a slime. He allowed the motion for single member move to oust speaker because Nancy Pelosi had assured him that she would back him. He needed the 15 votes from the Republicans to clinch speaker. He knew he could pander to democrats and with only 5 Republicans on his side, they could never force him out as speaker. Good riddance.

Here is McCarthy quoted yesterday.

"It's interesting , it was in this room after we had won the majority and I became speaker, Nancy Pelosi came to me and was speaker on the way out, I told her I was having issues with getting enough votes".
"She said, 'What's the problem?' I said, 'They
want this one, one person can rule you out' —
she was the only speaker to have changed
that rule," McCarthy said. "I had the power to
call the vote on her, but I never would — I lost
some votes because of it. And she said, 'Just
give it to them. I'll always back you up. I
made the same offer to Boehner and
same thing to Paul because I believe in the
institution.'"

Hmmm. Interesting.

In 1954, the Supreme Court ruled segregation in schools was illegal. 3 years later 9 black students attempt to enter a white school were prevented after the democrat governor sent the National Guard to stop them supported by.a belligerent mob.
Republican President Eisenhower decisively
resolved the situation at gunpoint when he
took control of the Arkansas National Guard
and sent 1,000 U.S. Army Paratroopers from
the 101st Airborne Division to restore order in
Little Rock, Arkansas. It took a strong
Republican leader to enforce civil order.
The 9 students were constantly jeered by hordes of racist white democrats throughout their schooling.

Arkansas has always had democrat governor's from 1900s through 1996. Save for very short stints when republicans held the gubernatorial seat during those periods.

Takeaways.
One:
Democrats pretend not to be racist . Did racist democrats really become republicans during the great " switch" of 1964?

Two:
Military has been used to quell civil riots. Under Trump Pentagon was against using the force during the George Floyd BLM riots with Dempsey saying citizens are not the enemy.

Nothing prevents the GOP from nominating Trump for the speaker position..

Personally, I wish they'd dare, but I don't think they're as dumb as you are. Their will to not politically die stops them nominating dump for the speaker position.

Some congress members like the 8 who voted out McCarthy?

Tell more Congress members to nominate dump please. Include a donation so they take you seriously.

Have the 8 become villains now? I should not ask this but it sure sounds like something wolfstreet werewolves would expouse.
Trump has also come out and said he would love to be the speaker.

WolfStreet does not do politics. And 8 the are not villians I guess neither are all the Democrats that helped them.

And dump never said anything of such, since the post requires work he can not possibly do and Gop rules disqualify him anyway.

Actually Trump appeared to rule out, but if he is nominated What else?
And so those lawyers of RNC do not know this rule you are waving. Would love to hear someone try to rule him out, that would be the end of his political career.
He is 40 points ahead of the nearest GOP pretender.

I don't think I can possibly convince you that most gops are less maga and more rino who know that dump as speaker would never speak for them and would only speak for dump while completely destroying the GOP, forever.

Nice response, but the fact that Dems are even defending themselves here is bothering me. McCarthy spent money electing the same 8 people who decided to get rid of him. You can't court crazy people, be the crazy party and expect the Democratic party to bail you out when you've done everything to trash them. The Dems stood up in the vote. I hope they keep standing up.

Imagine being mad at Dems because your party didn't want you as Speaker.

When you consider Trump’s popularity amongst Republican voters, the House GOP may have no choice but to amend their rules to accommodate a Trump Speakership

Those were house rules adopted in 2005. I'm being rational here, the GOP could change the rules , those who oppose it Will have to explain to their voters why they will not. After All they have been silent as leftist prosecutors hound Trump.
Im guessing his name can be out to a vote and change the rules later. GOP voters are Trump voters now and not the other way round.
A simple GOP declaration that all those indictments are phony and political is all that's needed.
Rino's control the party machinery but they don't have the votes.

House GOP's would never vote dump for speaker I don't think. Someone would kindly remind them magas don't win elections because there's just too few of them, and how badly those he supported last election faired. The desire to keep their own jobs will make them deny the loser.

Magas have only 8-9 votes, so what do they control when they even needed democrat votes to help get rid of McCarthy?

Agreed that they would just ignore the rules (Republicans are good at that), but disagree that Trump would be speaker. There are too many Republicans who won seats in moderate (swing) districts for that to happen. Can't imagine them going to their constituents in say a swing district in NY, and explaining they thought it was prudent to elect a person who is under multiple federal criminal indictments and a person the NY court said just committed fraud. Especially when Trump will most likely lose their districts by a wide margin. Survival would steal the day as getting reelected is the only way to continue their grift.

Thank you. That was what I was saying all these while. You and I know how popular Trump is among the republicans and if their primary were to be held today he would win hands down.

So if they nominate him as speaker you think he might not be made speaker? That was why I was saying leaving McCarthy there is better. A Trump speakership or any of those crazy loonies will be so hard for Biden he will regret the day he was born.. grin

The case will be like that of Nigeria replacing GEJ with Buhari

We wait and see

Most sensible post so far.

DemonRats will face "faya" for the rest of FJB term. FJB might even be removed as President with Trump as Speaker.

FJB better start working something out for his safety now, else he's finished patapata.

You are implying that the indictments have cost Trump votes. I would say it's for only ignorant low life's who can't see that all these cases are an extreme interpretation of the law to fit a crime. Yes. it's only those who lack curious minds , believe the smiling judges and cat walking stone cold prosecutors that they are after justice. I gave the background of why McCarthy needed to be removed. I posted it on the werewolves of wolfstreet .
Matt Gaetz will of course fundraise off this.
It's only democrats who are not happy with McCarthy gone, yet 100% of them voted against him.

Not In My Backyard . Sanctuary cities crying for the wall.
When Trump wanted funds for the wall, congress led by Paul Ryan refused. Ryan is a board member of Fox News Corp today.
When Trump used money for the Department of Defence to build a security wall, some judge blocked the reallocation of funds
They could not give Trump $25B for the American border, but are spending 5 times that to protect Ukraine's border.
