this is the kind of news am afraid of

Restructuring of your debt does not mean you won't pay the debt, it can be restructured so that you can make lower payments and the duration will be extended.

Very few people have the minimum amount of $200,000 to invest directly in a Sovereign or corporate Eurobond.
That is meant for institutional investors and High Networth Individuals.

Most of us will invest in Eurobond funds where we need a minimum of $1000, the fund will comprise of various sovereign and corporate Eurobond offerings.

About 2 years ago when Access, UBA and Zenith heard the hint that Naira would be devalued, they all liquidated their Eurobond debts before maturity

Oga Emma, Mercy and co. Abeg i wan learn something about insider trading

When the NGX publishes directors dealings, does it mean that the transactions are hidden from the trades i see from Morgan capital?

For example, the attached is a director dealing.

it was notified that 100,000 units with individual share price of N56.50 was transacted.

Now, on the list of trades i see on morgan capital, i cannot see anything like that.
there is just a single trade of N56.50 and it's less than 33k units.

Abeg i wan just understand

The order book is a list of all the buy and sell orders for a particular stock or security. It is organized by price level, with the highest buy order at the top and the lowest sell order at the bottom. The order book is used to match buy and sell orders and to determine the current price of a stock or security.

However, not all transactions are recorded on the order book. For example, block trades, which are large trades that are typically executed outside of the exchange, are not recorded on the order book. Additionally, transactions that are executed over-the-counter (OTC), which are transactions that are executed directly between two parties without the use of an exchange, are also not recorded on the order book.

****************************
The volume recorded at the end of the day will not cover all transactions, as not all transactions are recorded on the order book. Block trades and OTC trades, for example, are not recorded on the order book. Therefore, the volume recorded at the end of the day will only reflect the volume of trades that were executed through the order book.

Here is an analogy to help you understand this concept:

Imagine that the order book is like a public market, where buyers and sellers can come together to trade goods and services. The volume recorded at the end of the day would reflect the total volume of goods and services that were traded in the public market.

However, not all trades take place in the public market. For example, two farmers may decide to trade their crops directly with each other, without going through the public market. This would be like a block trade.

Additionally, some goods and services may be traded over-the-counter, which means that they are traded directly between two parties without the use of a public market. This would be like an OTC trade.

Therefore, the volume recorded at the end of the day will not reflect the total volume of trades that took place, as it will only reflect the volume of trades that were executed through the order book.

I couldn't open the attachment........but.....

1. You have to check the date of the transaction first
2. The 56.50 you saw might be average price of the piece purchase that made up the 100k units (we have 56.40s, 56.45s in today's trades)
3. All transactions pass thru the NGX trading engine for proper documentation, except for OFF MARKET DEALS, in which the NGX is notified in writing and other procedures follows........e.g. like the Transcorp bulk purchase made by Otedola from AMCON some months back.

Thank you. But does the off market deal change the market price if it has enough volume to do so whilst the real time trading doesn't close with sufficient volume to move price?

OK. So you can see aggregate price and aggregate volume there. It wasn't a bulk sales.

* Off Market Deals doesn't change market price because it doesnt pass thru the normal market route in the first place.......,but Director's dealings do pass thru it.
* Closing price is determined by the real time trading.

WAPCO seems to me, a great company with increasing revenue, FCF, cash. Finance costs put a dent in the EPS (when compared to Q3 2022), and we might expect to see its effects on proposed dividends for FY23. Unusual finance costs are sometimes brilliant strategic moves!

In my opinion, EPS is far from the best metric in the face of unrepentant inflation and currency devaluation. One needs companies that boast of increasing cash and an effective managament team (reflected by impressive growths) in the face of these harsh economic realities.

Use the Investment as a collateral and get 17m multiplied by 3 making about N50 million as a loan, use it to buy dollar and invest in a Eurobond fund that gives between 5% to 7% return on investment, you can decide to reinvest your Eurobond dividends.

Thank me later in 5 years time

Good result from Zenith. As at yesterday, the Q3 ranking of banks according to PE ratio is as shown below. Please note that FCMB audited Q3 result is still with their grand father (CBN) for authentication; I suspect interim dividend from FCMB though...
CMP - Current Market Price
OS - Outstanding Share
PAT - Profit After Tax
EPS - Earning Per Share
PE - Price Earning ratio

Always invest in what you understand. The N8 million invested in 2008, would have given a better return if he invested in real estate, fixed deposit, or just kept the cash in the bank
