I have said it several times. Implement true federalism. Unbundle the national grid nonsense.

Every state should look for means to generate power or buy from a neighbouring state.

How can states in faraway North be supplying power to the south when the south has gas in abundance?

You have said it all.

Nigeria needs true federalism for progress to be achieved.

I support your recommendation for southern states in Nigeria to look beyond the so called national grid that the northern state of Nigeria state want to use to be included for 13 per center derivation.

Niger State is more than Netherlands and Belgium combined in land size but cannot feed itself, (this is for those who always say that South East has a small landmass,) most of the milk used by Mai Shayi to make tea in Nigeria comes from cows in small Netherlands while Fulani herdsmen slaughters the population to use their farm crops to feed their Kwashiokod cows.

I expected the hardworking Governor of Niger State to ask Peter Obi how he planned to transform the state into a productive state during the campaigns with all those huge expanse of fertile lands wasting away but instead he is looking at more money from Niger Delta oil which NNPCL is already telling us is not available for Dangote refinery.

Meanwhile 70% of Nigeria power generation comes from Niger Delta gas while 27% is from hydro, so if he shuts down the dams the country won't be in total darkness and he lacks the capacity to do it because it will cause massive flooding if you don't release the water

I think what he is demanding is nothing less than what they deserve. It's an oil producing state so it now enjoys the expected 13% other oil producing states get.

How argument that they suffer from the reality of hosting a major hydropower dam is also realistic, the floods last year really hurt those areas and the looming issue of a dam break and water release is ever present for the farmers and residents of that state.

The governor is not current ane a semi-illiterate.
They already have a development commission
for hydro power producing states.

Now, I expect Lagos to fight for its own share of port abd importation activities.

DOA request. this governor should canvas for true federalism, if indeed he is seriously serious. but his most urgent task presently is to free his people from the activities of terrorists, bandits, Fulani-herdsmen, kidnappers , boko-haram, e.t.c. threatening the peace of Niger state, so that the citizens can go to their farms and other businesses without the fear of insecurities.

He has the right to demand for compensation but certainly not from the oil money, you can't sow in Ghana and reao in Dubai..
He should get his money from ministry of power and I support him in this .
