In Abuja it is actually 65,000

I used to buy it at 2,000 naira 3 years ago for my late aunt who had respiratory health issues.

As you can see the price varies from place to place.

The OP makes it seems that's the price everywhere.

The disc used to be 5.2k

That's 1000% inflation

So the price varies from pharmacy to pharmacy.

We could say between 48k to 52k

Which is quite still expensive. Considering this used to sell for 5.2k

Thank you for the enlightenment, so what happened to the groundnut, palmoil and Cocoa exports? Did they lost their market value too??

Somehwere between the early 1970's and ending of the 1980's , we lost our market for the stuff.

Three things happened

1.UK went through tough times in the 1970's...so no money

2.Other countries started growing the stuff we were growing...eg Malaysia started growing palm oil....and the problem is, Malaysia and its neighbour Indonesia have optimum growing conditions for palm oil year round, and lots more land. Final straw...mechanized farming.

3.We found that oil can earn quick money..especially when oil shot up in 1973.

4.We stopped regulating our mines sector closely.

This is truly heartbreaking and sheds light on a critical issue in our healthcare system. The exorbitant cost of essential medications like Seretide is not only a financial burden but also a threat to the well-being of patients, especially those with chronic conditions like asthma.

It's disheartening to see individuals suffering not only from their health conditions but also from the financial strain imposed by the high cost of medication. This situation underscores the urgent need for healthcare reforms and increased accessibility to affordable treatment options.

It's crucial for the authorities to address these issues and work towards creating a healthcare system that prioritizes the well-being of citizens. No one should have to choose between their health and financial stability. Let's hope that this story sparks a broader conversation about the need for affordable healthcare solutions and policy changes to ensure that essential medications are accessible to all, regardless of their financial situation.

They also told us that ampiclox is 10k per satchet.Meaning a pack of ampiclox is now 100k.Even if it's imported from the USA
The same ampiclox that is 5k per pack wholesale price.Even Beecham ampiclox per pack of 10 satchets is not up to 10k.
The problem we sometimes have in this country is poor journalism, scam bloggers and the fact that some people find joy in spreading false news so long it makes their opponent or government in power bad.
PS.People actually confirming it's between 48-52k.Thats alarming

Agreed....but if we voted Obi or Atiku...they would face

1.High debt

2.90% or more of our revenue is going into debt servicing

3.Low income from taxes.

At the end, they would probably do something similar to what Tinubu has done. Maybe even worse.

It does not make Tinubu a good leader (buying cars and yacht in times of trobuled finances tells ya a lot)...but things would still be the same.
Oga, people that have experience both in the private and public sector will handle things differently. Nissan for example was ruined, in debt, no one even wanted their cars, Carlos was hired and within 2 years turned the fortunes of that company around.
Let me give you a short story. The popular Korope, hummer buses(hiace) coaster had their prices skyrocketed. Few transporters, schools, governments could afford new ones, even tokumbo. If you know transportation in Nigeria and west africa, those 3 vehicles are the work horse.
Guess what? Someone figured out he could go to Japan, buy used ones, cut or slice them up, load as much as eg 20 hummer buses in one 40 foot container, load other parts, then ship them here, assemble they via hiring welders, mechanics, Ac technicians, rewire (making employment) etc. Then sell at eg 30% if the price of a brand new bus or 60% of that of a tokumbo.
Solution found! 95% of all the Toyota hiace and those korope( mini buses) you see on the roads from Lagos to Kano all as a result of someone's ingenuity.
Just as you have that colleague of yours that you earn the same salary with, but he is always in debt, but you live within your means and can even save enough to have projects, manage your family etc, so it is with managing financial resources of a country. Give two local gov chairmen 1b.
One that has not earned proper money before, does not know the value as he has leaved or gotten wealth through taxing people. The first thing he will do is buy two two lancruiser, 1 bullet proof 350m, normal one 180m, hilux 50m for escort, hiace bus for his goons 50m.

You still haven't told me what Obi or Atiku would do differently.

Also, Tinubu is a failure too.

The really hardworking Nigerian leader, would have fought corruption, cut waste , and removed subsidies, and also found a way to raise tax from the untaxed rich and poor.(Tinubu buying yacht and co and keeping subsidy stealthily is a sign he ain't serious).

Yeah, Tinubu has proven not able to make money...but even if he got serious, it's going to take longer than six months to get us out of our current slump.

What Obi or Atiku would have done differently, we will never know as they do not occupy the seat. But those fellows, particularly Obi have proven themselves in both public and most importantly, private sector anyway you look at it, unlike the current and previous apc leaders. Before becoming governor, you know obi's precedence as the chairman of fidelity bank and other blue hip companies after excelling as a trader. Atiku, his busineses before becoming vice president and the achivements(debatable) he made as head of the Obj economic team where our debts was paid off.
What busineses, industries etc did the former and current apc president's have? What experience?
Anyway, as you rightly asked, what they would nave done differently, we will never know.
Let's hope Tinubu can make a miracle as we have no other option.

Just imagine how many lives that have been lost due to unaffordability of medical bills these days if this small thing now costs ₦52,000. When things were far better than today, I saw a man unable to afford just around ₦35,000 to facilitate his discharge from the Federal medical center. Many people die everyday in hospital just because they cannot afford a simple operation to save their lives.

Let's hope Tinubu can make a miracle as we have no other option.

They won't have done different, because at the end

1.We have debts from the years of low oil prices

2.We are spending most of our oil revenue servicing them debts

3.Oil accounts for 80% of our revenue.

At the end, something has to give, and prices will go up as a result.

And as you can see, the tinubu goverment has cut subsides to the naira, and subsidies to petrol....and as a result prices are going up.

Thew only way any Nigerian laeader can stop this is by doing as Argentina did and stop paying debts. That would in prinicple free up more money, but make life harder in the long run. Option B is borrow even far more money than what Tinubu is borrowing.

We are paying the price of being an oil dependent country for decades. The chickens of doing nothing about our oil dependency have finally come home to roost.

The truth is, if we had removed subsides in 1992, fought corruption back then, and so on, we would have been in a better place. If we had effing had a leader who followed the National development plans of the 1970's maybe we would have been on the road to industrialization. If even buhari had removed subsides in 2015, and stopped borrowing to hide our blushes, we would have been over the worst by now.

Anyway, Obi, Atiku and tinubu had no answer...because the answer would make today's suffering look like paradise. And they all wanted to be elected.

There are consequences for foolishness as far as elections are concerned. When you delbetately or ignorantly vote for people who go abroad for treatments, you should know you would suffer for it. The only issue I have with that foolish decision is that the consequences would also be felt by people who voted right.

I wanted to buy xalatan Latanoprost eye drops( pfizer) in Awka last week,I was told #15k I was shocked beyond words.
