That is your welcome pack (date) 😃 But the situation will still change .

Keep logging in to your CGI and be clicking on reschedule Appointment ...if you find a nearer date in 2024 pick it otherwise log out and and check back.

But eventually , you are still going to apply for an emergency Appointment but don't use that option now. Keep using the option of reschedule Appointment till you find a nearer date in 2024. I doubt if the reschedule option can take you to your final desired date but it will take you to 2024.....then Emergency Appointment will rescue you as a last resort .

Especially if such person’s previous interview was canceled by the embassy.

We are tired of jumping through more hoops because applicants and most times agents - and some people - who mislead them, make the visa process more difficult year after year.
Once again, people come here for serious reasons, and not to catch fun like you said you do.
This thread has been mostly a DIY place where applicants get as much info as required freely. These info are regulated by peer review in order to make them both factual and actionable, thereby getting applicants favorable results.
Peer Review doesn't require mods supporting a select few. Peer Review defeats accounts working in consonant with each other (as you allege).
We don't have to always challenge each other. We don't abuse or call people evil or cabal. We don't bully others. We don't tell people we are street bred and ask them to meet underground because they differ on opinion. We don't throw our birth age or NL Report Card in people's faces, but instead ensure the quality of contributions we make.

Anyways Madam .. If you enter the US with B1/B2 (Tourist visa) or short visa as you wrote ..Yes you can change your visa status to Permanent Residency status (a.k.a the green card) all through citizenship ...thus ;

(1). You can buy house or property in the US while on non immigrant visa ..ie B1/B2...F1..L1..H1B..and TN visa. (not everyone can afford this route) 😌

(2). You can request to change or extend your stay up to a year while on B1/B2 visa by filing form I-539..you can do this from 45 days prior to the expiration of your authorized stay (best assistance from an attorney).

(3). Recently (year 2023) , the US Citizenship and Immigration Service USCIS announced that those traveling to the US on B1/B2 visa can now apply for jobs and attend job interviews (it's a new development though) . I don't want to mention other LEGAL AVENUES because brevity is the soul of wit.

Despite the fact that the aforementioned process can be difficult and complicated to achieve , it is also not impossible to attain especially with the assistance of an immigration attorney.

Qualifying for an Emergency Visa Appointment must fall under ONLY these three (3) categories...

1. Student

2. Medical ..

3. Business

That person attending wedding does not fall under any category BUT he or she can sneak it under BUSINESS ...(Busines and Pleasure because wedding ceremony includes eating and drinking ..partying ).

When applying for the emergency Appointment, he or she need a VERY STRONG invitation letter and the letter must indicate that his or her absence from the wedding will cause lot of people as well as the husband and wife an emotional disturbance. The letter should also put the wedding attendee into a vital position that will proof to the VO beyond reasonable doubt that he or she has to be in the wedding .

Call the CGI to narrate the above scenario as well .

It's fraud... and thus a sin. You found the "conference" as a means to immigrate, not for a legitimate purpose. Folks like you are why legitimate visa seekers with genuine conferences have a difficult time.

You are a doctor in Lagos working for LUTH and you are going for your genuine conference in California ...how will you register for the conference ? ONLINE ABI ? That means that your conference is registered with Google .

NOW , a doctor in ACCRA with 3 kids who is underpaid or just lost his or her job finds your genuine conference in California via Google and applied as a doctor , he or she got the visa and during the conference he or she made friends and decided to stay back in the USA genuinely ....is that a sin or illegal ?


THE US EMBASSY ONLY WANTS YOU TO FIND A MEANS TO GET VISA (either with genuine intention or not ) BUT NOT BY JUMPING FENCE VIA MEXICO OR CRAWLING THROUGH CANADA BORDER . If they don't want you to stay behind in the US they will erase stay-back options .
