Right.
from what I can see of Labour policy on immigration, They agree immigration is too high ( I don't agree, obviously).
They know this is due to a skill shortage in the UK which now needs immigrants to do much needed jobs.

So, plan is to link immigrants to where skills are short in the short term.( shortage occupation list likely to stay) In the long term , to train up UK citizens to take up posts.

I think this is a better plan than the Tories who cannot think beyond breakfast. So I would advise for us to hang in there till next year, make sure you are registered to vote and vote these boogers out of office.

As for the silly salary cap nonsense, I predict it ll be challenged in court and thrown out or labour ll throw it out next year. You cannot keep families apart because of money shikena

What is the 10yr route?

10 year route means it will take 10 years to qualify for permanent residence/ILR, instead of the standard 5 years

there are still barriers, the residence test is back though not formally announced but Anuty Suella started telling companies to consider locals first bringing back the residence test through the back door. This is why sponsorship outside healthcare is reducing these days.

The immigration skills charge is another issue and I can't blame companies cos of the high rising costs of living and lean budget these days. The Graduate scheme route which is what many companies use to avoid immigration skills charges by employing those on the student visas is now under threat with the increase in the salary requirement. Am not arguing but making a point that the barriers are there.

I agree, but it would be strange for a desirable country to not have any barriers to accessing its labour market, except of course there is a mutual agreement in place like the EU.

Don't you have to prove you're the primary caregiver?

You don't have to be the primary caregiver but you have to show that you're involved in the child's life e.g regular visits, financial contributions

You may also have to do a DNA test if you are not married.

The challenge will only apply to family visas where the sponsor is British or has settled status.

Yes because the US did the reciprocity rule.
The length of visa is the same as possible to those applying for Nigerian visit visas from the US. or other US consulates
When Nigeria made theirs 5yrs, US did the same shortly after

So just to ask the experienced professionals here, can one include in an CV unrelated work experience gained the U.K. while as a student to cover for employment gap? Iโ€™m asking because of U.K. experience stuff. I work in retail sector and I can somehow relate what I do to cybersecurity during interviews, but I just do not know if it fits into a CV.

Thanks.

It fits, just bracket it with part time. Donโ€™t need to include location of each role.

Good luck

I spoke with my cousin rounding up her Masters in Accounting next month, she seems worried on what this new policy means for her.
Her initial plan was to apply for the 2 yr post study work visa, is that no longer certain?
If I understand well, the 2 year post study work visa remains but what happens after that 2 years is where the problem is. Am I correct?

If itโ€™s post study she has nothing to worry about. That is still intact

Good evening everyone
Hope the cold is treating us well.

I am very confused and I believe I am being discriminated against.

I moved into my apartment June 2023 with a stranger, itโ€™s a building complex and we both signed a tenancy agreement with the property managers. Few weeks later my flat mate started trying to stress and control me to which I was having none of it. A lot of issues happened but it never resulted into a physical fight or anything of the sort. She asked me to leave and I told her I would not leave the apartment as she wasnโ€™t my lady and had no right to throw me out. Last month i got a knock on my room door and the police officer was in front of me telling me my flatmate accused me of burglary, after I explained everything and what I have been going through, the police officer said no further action will be taken as it is a domestic issue. I also made complaints of what my flatmate did to me and the police officer recorded them. The police officer said our landlord should be told of what happened and so I went down to report the situation, I didnโ€™t meet the managers and I only spoke to the receptionist who asked me to come the next day. I went the next day to speak to the property managers but couldnโ€™t and was told theyโ€™ll reach out to me, this was never done.

Yesterday I got an email which I attach, I responded saying I have no plans to leave my apartment and this hasnโ€™t been discussed with me. Today I got another email saying I have to leave on the 30.02.24 and I am confused because this is not a valid reason to terminate my tenancy. I have also not breached any grounds under section 8. These people have been very dismissive and have not reached out to speak to me.

Please what can I do as I do not want to move due to the stress involve in looking for an apartment as well as moving out. Please I really need help.
Justwise Zahra29 hustla Lexusgs430 and everyone please help

I will advise those who are still hoping to get there sponsorship through health and care pathways to focus more on nhs jobs. The new health visa policy changes do not affect the NHS. The information can be found on nhsemployer.org

I was thinking about something on the train yesterday as I haven't seen it happen before

Can a Muslim student from Nigeria carry 3 wives as dependents to the UK? I mean when they still allowed dependents.I see these Arab looking guys with 2/3 wives on the bus with their burqa and I wonder how the visa process looked like

Will the VO frown at it?

grin
How did you come to terms that they are his wives.

I used these methods, as suggested by great minds here:

https://www.biometric-residence-permit.service.gov.uk/collection
Or
Send an email to Brpcollection@homeoffice.co.uk

It's not always easy initially after coming but you will be alright, ok. Cheers.

It works like magic ๐Ÿช„. I sent them mail and few hours I received a mail instructing me to go and pick my BRP card.

Thank you for your help ๐Ÿ™

Would you rather not stress to look for another apartment than living with a co-tenant who seems out to frustrate you?

How many more police incident awaits in the future? After all the hustling, the least one thing everyone owes themself is to retire back home to peace in a dwelling free of rancor.

That is my point of view, you and others may see things differently!
