Do you think the wahala of 2008 which was a global meltdown will happen anytime soon in the financial world?

It may be a black swan effect and may not look like another one is close. Did anyone see COVID-19 lockdown coming?

BUA Cement will make us proud, with over 96% of the outstanding shares owned by BUA group and Abdul Samad Rabiu. Over 3% is owned by institutional investors (500,001 to 1,000,000 units each), and the remaining 1% own less than 500,000 units each. Hopefully the stock will perform very well. I am aiming for a 100% ooo. grin grin grin
I recommended it a few months ago and I projected it to sell at 120 - 150 with the shortest period of time. The rest is now history.

He's going to commission some new plants later this month , so I knew the rally was inevitable.

Rabiu's stocks are defensive. Even if it's going to fall , it's not going to be hard cos baba too dey Forbes conscious.

If you are in stocks that are still appropriately priced with potential to grow, you can keep or hold.

I have seen a N30 million portfolio in 2006 turned to N2.5 million in 2008.

Na the depression and stress kill the man.
chai!!! But that portfolio could be worth more than that now. Most of the investment we made then was for us to have cash flow through dividend payments,we never thought of making short term money from NSE.

Are you sure, when stocks without fundamentals were giving 1000%.

I also made the mistake of selling some of my sound blue chip stocks to buy some speculative positions.

It is good and sweet to make money in a bull market, it better and sweeter when one is also making money when the bull is over, it sweetest and it is the best to make money in a bear market and also having the resources to buy more shares in a bear market.

I don park enter DANGOTE SUGAR @79 grin grin grin

You should have gone for NASCON.

If you bought Sugar for 79, it means Nascon should sell for 72.4 due to the scheme of merger formula.

Always check the two using the scheme of arrangements.

You know that the price of sugar will be the final price for dangote food. So since 12 Nascon equals 11 sugar, it's best to do ur maths. At the time you bought, Nascon was still below N68. Meaning it's sugar equivalent should have been N74.

Right now that Nascon price change is on N69, if I must buy sugar, the price has to be N75.2 maximum

yes but it depends on the stocks he bought then. Imagine zenith Bank or gtb shares in his portfolio, those banks were not big that time. I personally look at shares as a long term investment in case I need funds for a project I can sell it,make profit and invest back.

Those people supplying TIP at 2.94,you will make tip to become scarse next week and may also become more illiquid because somebody is taking up your offers.

Don't end half way unless you are in need of money

I agree with your analysis on inflation but not on positive sentiments. The exit of large global corporations from the country is one big negative, no improvement of the security situation and distrust in the judiciary are serious negatives for any sentiment analysis performed by anyone and there has not been serious efforts to reform the country so I disagree. In my organisation here in the UK, we downgraded Nigeria this year in comparison to other african countries when looking at possible emerging market investment destinations.

I suppose one other factor driving investment in the stock market is the fall of the naira which has seen most financial institutions post massive forex gains and profits, providing the opportunity for short term profit hunters to take advantage of that value. I foresee a retraction post April 2024 except, inflation continues to rise and the naira continues to fall at rapid speed.

NGX is to a very large extent immune to the perceived bolded. That is more for politically exposed.
