My favourite PEEPs, I greet you all.
I wondered if anyone knows why most of these companies that usually release their year end results by first quarter of the new year ate not doing so this time. Usually , we would have received UCAP and Zenith dividend by now. Thank u

Through your bank
Do banks charge for the service .If yes is it based on percentage or fixed amount.

There is a very highly liquid secondary market for fixed income assets where transactions running to hundreds of billions of naira are done daily. It is far more liquid than NGX.

Reason why I asked the question - provided I miss this FGN bond 22% yield, can I still get it at a reasonable price in the secondary market?

Because of the huge volume of transaction done, it is cheaper than the commission paid for shares. You pay 0.5% of the value .

Bigger investors pay less than that

Most banks have already submitted their AFS to CBN but as always incompetence reigns in this country.

As terrible as Emefiele was, this current CBN regime doing everything to make him look like a genius.

UCAP had their board meeting today, we should hear something between now and Friday.

It is always easy to call another incompetent. The question is what have you contributed to the country. Has the time frame for publishing results elapsed Mr competent.

If you accept the job then do the job! Why is is taking CBN more than 30 days to approve or ask for revision if necessary?

Isn’t it too late for you to be awake old man? No be everything you must argue about πŸ™„πŸ™„

Stanbic IBTC.

You can also use your stockbroker provided they have a very active fixed income desk. Most stockbrokers lack competence in this area

Your observation was right..
Around this time last year, some results and dividend declarations were already out......
This year, there has been postponement upon postponement of board meetings and quite a lot of companies filing for late submission.
* Think it has to do with some economic events or some other regulatory factors.........NAICOM approval for Insurance stocks and CBN approval for banks...
* We should be expecting some results anytime from now.

Thanks,It is good to be old and filled with wisdom. And when you are young, learn the rules , regulations and powers vested on an establishment before you make uninformed pronouncements.

And it is 24hrs that make a day.Different people pick the hours to sleep within it.

And the present cbn guy is doing wonderfully better than the last .I am not a fan of tinubu/Apc but they are doing great in some governance/policy

Very good results at a quick glance!

One might guess that with the usual (maybe often unconscious) price correction to 10% dividend yield, Access might settle at N21 after the initial back and forth trades following this news. But do dividend-aiming investors still consider 10% a fair deal after the recent events of rapid devaluation, unrepentant inflation, highly competitive fixed income rates, etc.?

Quite an improvement. Bringing the total dividend for 2023 financial year to 210k as against 150k paid in 2022. This is a good omen for the banking sector. But then, the market has its own mind to say if the increase in dividend is sufficient enough to sustain the price!

imagine if most companies behave like UCAP, the banks shares would have hit the moon.

UCAP eps N1.9 and they paid N1.8

ACCESS eps N17 and they paid N1.8

Very true!
But when the forward outlook of expense of growth, currency instability, and recapitalization are factored in, one might praise the banks for even the modest dividends that they will pay.

The Board of Directors proposed a Final Dividend of N1.80k (Dec 2022: N1.30 Kobo) per ordinary share of 50 Kobo each on the 35,545,225,622 issued ordinary shares of 50k each payable to
shareholders on the register of shareholding at the closure date. Withholding will be deducted at the time of payment.

Please πŸ™, I need help to interprete what this statement mean. Although, obviously access is paying a shareholders approved N1.80k dividend per share.

But what is the meaning of per ordinary share of 50 kobo on each of their 35 billion share issued ordinary shares of 50k each payable to shareholders on the register

Thank you
