JMG12:
1. The sponsor doesn't need to submit SOA
2. Yes, the PA needs to prove the relationship with the sponsor and source of funds
3. The funds should be transferred immediately if it is available, he can leave the funds until he gets a decision based on the application

Thanks for the response.

When u said the applicant has to prove the source of funds, you mean the applicant needs to prove where the sponsor got the funds?

Also, appart from business registration of the sponsor, what else is needed to prove the source of the fund ?

Yes she submitted it initially and they requested for it again.

Yes you have to show the amount that covers your tuition and living expenses in whatever account you are using.

Daaaz0409:
your spouse was asked to resubmit her statement of account 17 weeks after she initially submitted it the first time in her application?

And secondly, if my sibling in Canada is serving as my sponsor, does he need to have the total money needed in his available balance?

Hello experts,

I have some questions to ask. In December, my husband sold a property, and the proceeds were deposited into my account for my study permit application. Unfortunately, on March 12th, my visa was denied. Consequently, I withdrew the entire amount from my account for business purposes. Now, I plan to reapply. If I deposit the money back into my account either this month or in May, can I explain in my Statement of Purpose (SOP) why I withdrew the money? Is it acceptable to have the funds in my account from December, withdraw the lump sum in March for business purposes, and then deposit it back in May, with a clear explanation in my SOP? Or do you think I need to start building my account again from the scratch? Note that I deferred to the December Semester and my classes will be starting by January 2025. Your guidance on how to go about this matter is needed. Thank you.

Hello all, I am asking on behalf if a friend who's brother will be presented as sponsor.

Funds will be gathered from various people and paid into the sponsors account. Then sponsor will then transfer to his account as the applicant.

The questions are

Is the sponsors own bank statement required?

Does the sponsor have to provide any further documentation as to where the money came from?

When does the funds need to be transfered and how long will it be in the applicants account?

Hello Maziemeka2024,

As a sponsor, bank statement(s) is required. That's the only means of assessment the officer can determine the sponsor's financial buoyancy to commit to the intent. In no way should the sponsor's bank statement be excluded even after transferring the sponsorship funds to the applicant.

The sponsor's bank statement won't be necessary if the applicant decides to become a self-sponsored applicant thereafter when the said funds have been transferred. The burden to justify the provenance of the funds will then weigh on the applicant. The same applies to the sponsor to provide justification for the lump sums if the sponsor remains in the sponsorship picture.

Aside from the sponsor providing proof of subsistence means, evidence of a strong relationship with the applicant must be presented as well. The longer the funds stay in the applicant's account, the better it would be to show it as "historically accumulated funds". As soon as possible would be ideal for the funds to be transferred to the applicant.

Best Wishes!

Hello house please I have 2 questions regarding study permit application
1. Does the tuition and living expenses you show on your bank statement that you submit need to remain in the account till visa is granted?

2. If you have a sibling in Canada that’s a permanent resident and works full time can they serve as your sponsor? And how does that work if it’s possible

Hello Daaaz0409,

To your number one question, not necessary. Not every application is subjected to a secondary verification when updated financial proof is requested. If the money is to be moved maybe for an ineluctable reason of business or containing financial losses, ensure the funds are easily accessible in the case an updated proof of funds is requested.

Yes to your number two question. Your sponsor must have not sought public recourse in Canada, and if one was taken, it must have been repaid to meet the description of an eligible sponsor. Proof of relationship, funds, and economic stability will be required. An important area you will have to painstakingly work on is how to demonstrate rigid home ties so your family ties in Canada don't outweigh those in your home country.

Best Wishes!

Hello Mamaoseme33,

The standard approach would be to use an LOE to explain the lump sum origin and include surplus documentation to back it up. But the best approach would be to build your account again piecemeal, esp. if your previous application was denied on the grounds of "Person Assets & Financial Status" or "Economic or Employment Situation." In case you need external assistance with the SOP/LOE, chat with GCMSWriters on IG/X.

Best Wishes!

Yes, that is what I met. CAC is not enough SOA(not compulsory), invoice, payslips, TCC and contract agreements

Why is this happening Many came with padded or borrowed Pof hoping to work and pay the bills and tuition. But the economy is so bad that jobs are scarce. At the end of the day most of these asylum claims will be thrown out of the window.

Please it is advisable to use an agent while seeking admission to school in Canada. Can anyone recommend a school I can apply to for a Master's? I have a B.sc Economics and ACA with work experience as an accountant.

Pls don't use an agent. No one will know how to tell your story like you when you are applying to a school for admission. You can only seek guidance which many here have been willing to give.

Start by knowing the course you want to do for your masters and why you want to study the course. Then, look out for schools in Canada online that offer the course to your satisfaction. Pick one of the schools and apply.
In all, pray for God's guidance ✌️

The money held in the sponsor's acct doesn't truly reflect that the funds will be available, you need to convince the VO that the funds will be available.
Note, sponsor can't use the closing balance to support the PA, so a portion of that funds should be set aside for PA, this should be converted in sponsorship letter/support letter.

Thank you for your quick response. I am looking at Masters in business Administration or finance. Its just a means to japa but will definitely conclude the masters. So any of the two options will be okay by me. I will try and do my research.

My medical passed on Thursday last week but I got an update today and when I checked the medical is blank no more updates.

Plus it’s been over 2 weeks I reapplied but the tracker has not captured my application.

Should I be worried?

PPR gist

Let me start by giving God all the glory, thanks to everyone here. Special thanks to @JMG12 for always responding to my inquiry here. I am the one that put everything together for my spouse application.

We submitted the application on the 19th December 2023, upfront medical done on 17th February 2024, medical passed on 27th February. We got request for statement of earning via MBS on the 11th April 2024.

We invested our POF after submitting the application. We liquidated the investment immediately after we got the request and we submitted MBS on the 17th April.

PPR came in today 23rd April (exactly 18 weeks). Thank you all , I wish everyone expecting PPR success in the remaining part of the application, it will come through.

NB: ppr is a birthday gift for me and spouse exactly a week to our birthdays grin (30th April and 1st May respectively). God did it!!!
