Danand1: You lost Ekaladerhan lived, died and was buried in Ughoton village. That was the reason you won a land case against the Ijaws in the court of law. Both Ogiso dynasty of Igodomigodo and Oba dynasty of Bini were started by Ile-Ife people under the leadership of Obagodo and Oranmiyan respectively 4 Likes |

HBB1:obatala was a name of a person not a title it wasnt just lajuwa who seized power the entire ife leadership throne has never been from one genealogy, neither was it organized if you never had an organized leadership how then is it possible than you ancestors found the Benin monarchy when the Benin kingdom already had an lineage of ascension to the throne that ile ife didn't have? If there is anything history teaches us is that a Benin prince at one time ruled ife, which makes sense before ife didn't have a line of succession anyone could have been ooni, even till this day the household of the ooni is been debated and does not even follow a line of succession. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Yoruba isn't even just a tribe but an ethnic race spanning! One idiot want to limit Yoruba to just Bini. Oyo ori Oba (Yo'oba) is the name! Go figure. Someone even said Yoruba is the program code of the world, well, Obatala and Oduduwa which are halves of a sphere which formed the universe according to Ifa. |

Re: Benin Traditional Council Suspends Five Chiefs For Pledging Alliance To Ooni by Olu317(m): 9:59pm On Apr 28 |
FxMasterz:Lol. Alaafin is disrespectful like oba bini in a way butn in a different way. Alaafin is a maternal descent of Oranmiyan historically. And from 1839, that the title Alaafin was created after Oluewu/ Olukuewu was betrayed by warriors and Atiba who connived with Olu Ilorin /Emir Ilorin and killed /beheaded him at Ilorin. Olufe Ooni Lajamisan was a direct biological son of Oranmiyan andcontinue even which Olufe Ooni Ojaja Ogunwusi is a direct male descent . |
Re: Benin Traditional Council Suspends Five Chiefs For Pledging Alliance To Ooni by FxMasterz: 10:06pm On Apr 28 |
Olu317: Alaafin is not disrespectful. The Ooni knows. Traditionally, the Alaafin does not bow to the Ooni because the ife stool was first occupied by a king who left ìfẹ for a war expedition that later led to him founding Oyo ilé. The Ooni was a chief priest of ife who was authorized to administer the throne in the absence of the Oba. Since the Oba never returned, the chief priest eventually became the oba while the self exiled oba became Alaafin in Oyo. The Alaafin therefore can't bow to the Ooni but must respect the stool the Ooni sits on as the original seat of his forefathers. If the Alaafin was a son of the Ooni, he would definitely bow. He can't disrespect his father. |

DOptical:If obatala was a king before Oduduwa, which crown was he wearing and why is the crown brought by Oduduwa became the major crown of the ooni of Ife? |
Re: Benin Traditional Council Suspends Five Chiefs For Pledging Alliance To Ooni by DOptical: 10:27pm On Apr 28 |
Danand1: Ode, Oduduwa didn't bring any crown. He was from Oke Ora. He was picked by Ifa to become the king after several centuries years of Obatala descendants thus depicting the Orisha Obatala and Oduduwa which are the two halves which formed the universe. |

Re: Benin Traditional Council Suspends Five Chiefs For Pledging Alliance To Ooni by DOptical: 11:05pm On Apr 28 |
Danand1: Ode, your brain could see that Obatala and his descendants were ruling Ife, yet your stupid self was asking if Oke ora was existing? You dey mad? Oke Ora was existing alongside Ife. It's even in Ife sef. It was the fact that No one expected anyone else except Obatala descendants ruling Ife until Ifa also picked another Yoruba man named Oduduwa from Oke Ora to become the king thereby depicting the Orisha Obatala and Orisha Oduduwa as two halves of a sphere which formed the universe. |

Leo34rf:So, you are still listening to that story? Odùduwà was a normal human and so couldn't have descended from any heaven. He was a prince of Ufẹ̀ (Ifẹ̀) who later became king of Ifẹ̀. Before him, many kings who were not from the line of Ọ̀ra Ifẹ̀ family where Odùduwà came from had reigned in Ifẹ̀ and used different titles like Ọwá, Olúfẹ̀, etc. Also, the current Ifẹ̀ is about the third phase of Ifẹ̀. If you care to know, not all original Yorùbá obas were descendants of Odùduwà because the latter was not the first king of Ifẹ̀ as earlier noted but all Yorùbá people trace their origin to Ifẹ̀. Though his dispensation seems the last, Odùduwà became somewhat more popular and some people began to weave strange tales around him. All said and done, the Benin Ọba, as their current king has rightly stated, descended from Òrànmíyàn who was a descendant of Odùduwà. Furthermore, linguistic affinity the Binis share with the Yorùbá people, to the extent that some of them answer Yorùbá names, should be one of the reasons which should help them to shove ethnic chauvinism aside and honestly research and report their history. |
