A counter judgement will be issued by the high court in Abuja on the 29th of may, all the chairmen are not leaving their seats
The Governor will decide what he will do.
They are Courts of equal jurisdiction.

Funny man. I expect Fubara to come out in full force against them.
He should give it to them fire for fire.

Fubara is the only Governor in the history of Nigeria that an ordinary local government chairman or a mere Commissioner will openly insult simply because they think they have the support of the president.

The president should be reminded that Fubara is an Ijaw man. If he doesn't caution Wike or play neutral, the problem will consume the whole of Nigeria and it will cripple oil production in the Niger Delta region.

Comment from.an Igbo. grin

Let the law take its rightful course. But saying Ijaw this, Ijaw that is moronic. Nothing will happen. Let it just be legal and Ijaw cannot do anything. No particular Nigerian tribe can do anything against government of Nigeria. Not Fulani, Not Yoruba, not anyone.

Lol, let me give you a breakdown of what will happen on the 29th, bookmark my post, I'm on ground and I don't rely on comments from uninformed social media commenter, firstly on the 29th, the court of Appeal will affirm the 27 lawmakers as the authentic Rivers state House of assembly members, secondly a judgement will be issued from the High Court in Abuja, instructing the governor not to tamper with LGA funds and also giving validity to the tenure elongation since he has refused to conduct an election, I'm sure you're surprised? That's because empty barrel makes the loudest noise and fubara the empty barrel has been making a lot of noise, 21 out of 23 LGA Chairmen are not leaving the council on the 17th of June and nothing will happen, they will also be provided with adequate security from Abuja

instructing the governor not to tamper with LGA funds?? What??

This can’t practically happen in Nigeria. You’re on drugs!!

Nop, LGAs have their own accounts, they share FAAC with the state in the JAAC meeting and they also generate their own money, I've read countless LGA annual financial report from Rivers State over the years, on it, you will see funds received from FAAC and funds generated internally, FAAC is always way above igr, the last one I read, PHALGA generated the highest revenue internally which was 700m and received approximately 4b for that year from FAAC, followed by obio/Akpor and Emuoha, I think it was for 2021

The funds are still controlled by the governors. That’s one of the reasons for the struggle for LG autonomy.

In all, the date 17th June is less than a month away. I do not see him leaving with anything.

I see Fubara seriously giving Wike a run for his money over the so called structure.

it's not going to be an easy fight but the LGA Chairmen have resolved not to leave their councils, in fact they told wike to leave the fight to them, they are very capable, those guys campaigned for fubara in their respective LGAs, anybody that will be appointed CTC Chairman will not operate from the council and in the coming month, a higher court will throw out the judgement issued by the state high court.

Wike himself can only scream for now. His hands are tied presently. Fubara controls everything. That’s business gone wrong between the two of them.

The now 25 lawmakers are heavily disadvantaged. The law weighs heavily against them, as their defection is clearly against the constitution. It’s just a matter of time and the matter is laid to rest. The governor has completely sidelined them all, including the LG chairmen. Since there are no more political solutions, the LG chairmen, who are under the control of state governors, would have no say in the matter.

For now we all wait and hear from the courts.

What and see as he will disgrace this man when the time comes and he truly does not leave the office, and there is no judicial reversal of this verdict.

Oga the Court of competent jurisdiction has said your tenure has expired, if you want to appeal the judgement, then do so ...The lawmakers you are depending on are also in breach of the Constitution.

You must be misinformed and totally bereft of the provisions of the constitution. This is not a family and friends affair that you can do anyhow and get away with it. I am sure you know what happened to deputy governor in Edo State?

That is the constitutional position. The conduct of local government elections will decide who stays or leaves that office. Simple. No unconstitutional caretakers.

They are going nowhere until that is done. Anyone saying otherwise is on his own. Let me see who will force them out of office.

These useless governors we have in Nigeria are the major cause of the underdevelopment in Nigeria. If they like caretakers so much, then it is also time for us to start having caretaker governors. INEC will shun their elections and go about other things.

What nonsense!

The infamous words of laymen.

Simmer down. What you posted is one of the quickest ways to identify the ignorant ones here. Governors do have certain powers, but there are limitations also. They are not emperors. Open the constitution and read! You people don't like reading. What you see most times are the abuse of such powers, which is illegal.

Try to acquire knowledge of the law, so you don't go about regurgitating nonsense and mystifying basic things.
