Dear mod of the section please no vex and help me move to the correct section

Seun
Please can you tell the house the rules as regards the banning of nairaland members? I am asking because i was banned by sexkillz for hailing a fellow nairalander.
If it is wrong to hail a fellow nairalander, no problem but on the said thread i was banned, there were others who did what i did and were/are not banned so why was i singled out? Below is the post that got me banned.

Guy i dey feel you.... If i ever meet you i go buy you one carton of alomo(I quoted a post by chronique/ he also got banned)

Where is my rice(i quoted a post by freecocoa).

There is nothing offensive in my post and i get banned. I just want to know why.
Thanks

The thing is... You cant expect a Bricklayer or poff poff seller to control educated goons.

You dont need a micro scope to know the sane MOD on here...

Go to Celebrities and Literature Section, despite the fact its been handle by ladies...

You hardly see them bannin.. Not like one Old papa youngy albino that was drop out of school due to

his low GPA, They have to send the twerp to NIIT or Aptech to gain knowledge of PC just for him not be obsolete

to the society. angry

The painful thing is that the fool is tryin to get all the fugly ladies attention with his sand paper face... grin

This is how ban should work... There are 2 mods Handlin a section...

If someone make a wrong comment, you either warn the person or hide the post.

and if you are to bann someone, since you guys are 2, you need to contact your partner to do that..

You just cant ban someone just bcus you have hatred towards that person or bcus of Nepotism..

You got banned because your post was off-topic. I think such a minor offense should attract an initial warning, before a ban, though.

How long will it take for you to understand that boy is ruining this section? Seun, I'm very concerned about all this complaints and if care is not taken, your moderators will have no one else to ban.

Seun thanks for your reply. I have no problem getting banned for going offtopic. My problem is in that same thread, they were so many other post that are/were similar to mine and the handles were not banned. e.g

The truth is that I did give a warning for your posting off-topic and that of others, which resulted in the banning of your account, as well as two others. My warning was explicit.

Now, I thought I banned accordingly. Like the rest of you though, I am human and prone to err. If you or others feel that I made a mistake in the way I handled a situation, any of you can use the complaints thread or send me a pm as I read all of them. It's much easier this way than for threads to be popping up in various sections on this forum.

Anyway, I've lifted your ban. For any of you who are unclear of the rules or the goings-on for the Romance section, do RE-familiarize yourselves with the Nairaland Forum Rules and Regulations as well as the thread for the Romance Section's goals this year, Happy 2013 Romance-landers. That's what I go by. Here's to a clean slate and a more cohesive section this year. Cheers.

Thanks for your reply. I have no problem with you banning me if i derail a thread. I don't think what i posted was actually derailing.

I'm far from sensitive.. I just wanted to know why i was banned simple.

@op

hehehehehe.... U dey cry? Lmao

* rolls wheelbarrow across d thread*
Re: Seun: What Are The Guidelines For Banning Someone by dammytex: 4:05pm On Jan 08, 2013
I personally think derailing should only attract hiding of posts unless it becomes consistent after warning.

The truth of the matter is; if we are going to be enjoying NL, especially Romance section, we have to derail on some topics at some points. That's the fun that comes with the forum although I believe we must be matured about it.

But then why the @op sef come dey lament? grin grin grin grin
E be like say the thing pain you small as dem ban you. grin grin grin grin
on behalf of our abino boss, we say "we are sorry" grin grin grin
Re: Seun: What Are The Guidelines For Banning Someone by Goldieluks: 4:41pm On Jan 08, 2013
I made a comment about "Garri" and that bald head Albino banned me, without a warning. And someone was saying "Garri" comment is illegal. Wtf is that suppose to mean? You eat Garri everyday and you say its illegal to make a comment about it?? Double standard much!!!

i hope all this banning stuffs wont lead to the death of nairaland. you guys(mods and seun) should look into this properly.
Re: Seun: What Are The Guidelines For Banning Someone by SAFO(m): 4:55pm On Jan 08, 2013
As much as I've derailed threads I should be banned for life but everyone is prone to errors and killz has given ample explanation.

But Seun it looks like you're throwing killz under the bus. Or maybe I'm reading too much into your reply.

Hopefully I'm wrong

@SAFO: I wanted sexkillz to explain himself and, as expected, he has done just that. We are all here to serve the Nairaland community.

Hmmm . . .

Hmmm . .

Talk bout warning a user before banning him/her
I'm not going 2talk further on this issue

Let's just hope things work out for good this time

There should be warnings before ban's
That's why its free for any mod's to-send free PM's to-any user
Anywayz I'm not talking further

I rest my case
Re: Seun: What Are The Guidelines For Banning Someone by ferhyntorlah(f): 5:29pm On Jan 08, 2013
I see nothing wrong in derailing a thread as long as it's entertaining and laughable.

What is wrong in commending your fellow member(s) and exchanging banters?

Derailing at times make nairaland fun. But to be honest, sexkillz is over doing it IMO.
