Thanks a lot tzetzefly for these great information. Just one more thing. I do hear people say you need to show a strong economic tie to your country for you to have a successful visa interview. Do you think my court marriage certificate will be enough for me to show I have a strong tie to my country.
Thanks in anticipation to your response.

Marriage is one of the ties you need to show as a reason to return to your home country. Having kids out of a legal union is an even stronger tie.

NB: My dad frequently visits ,but my
cousin is a bluepassport holder. I have
thought about my following ties, my
landed property in ikorodu and some
in my villa, my shares in the
stockmarket, using my dad's company as a front. Will this pass? I just hope
they will look at these in a few
minutes.

Each applicant is treated on its own merit. All these documents are just any other documents, your can only pass what you can prove.

Your ties to your country is your pass..

Either one you chose, doesnt matter. They are most often classified as the same category. You should be fine whichever you indicate.

Thanks bro

Hello, having trouble scheduling an appointment. Reply from the sys keeps saying they have my details on their database and using same email address. The issue is I can't remember d password.the sys asked me to choose "forgot password" which I did and they sent me a temporal password which I used and was asked to change to a new one immediately, which I did yet it keeps taking me back to my details are in their database. What should I do?

Hey guys... I just wanna say a big thank you to all those that contributed to my success. I'm the ukraine student that wanted to apply for a USA tourist visa. My interview was yesterday and it was amazing... I was pretty scared to be honest. They kept on denying applicants. The consular was really friendly with me. Afterall prayer works.
VO: (She had started smiling at me from afar)
ME: (I was wondering if something was on me that made her smile that much at me) I smiled with a smirk and with a cool childish voice. I said "hellooo"... I actually used a British accent to say that word.. Lol.

VO: Hello... How are you?
ME: I'm fine.
VO: where are you going to in the states?
ME: New York.
VO: What for?
ME: Tourism
VO: why New York?

ME: this was the moment I flopped.. But God's grace is always sufficient. His favour really stood by me
I said "New York is the most popular place in the US & Besides, that's one of the most interesting place to tourists.

VO: she smiled so hard and said Ok. What do you do?
ME: I'm a medical student.
VO: when are you going to be done.
ME: I said twenty-sixteen (2016)
VO: who is your sponsor?
ME: my father
VO: what's does he do?
ME: I said he works with bleep bleep and he is the bleep bleep

VO: she nodded her head in approval.. I could feel the success from where I stood shaking like a leaf.. Then she opens my passport.. Oh!.. Where have you been to?

ME: I was shocked because I thought she was supposed to know that in my visa application. Anyway i listed all the 5 countries I've been to.

VO: she nodded again. She didn't even ask me for what. She didn't even bother to check any documents. OK. She hands me a white paper and said. Please kindly pick up your passport next Thursday. Have a good day..

ME: Victory! Victory! Victory! I kept on shouting that In my mind... I said thank you. Picked up my documents and left.

To be candid with you, my answers were not that perfect.. My voice was shaking.. My hands.. And so on.. The way she kept on smiling at me made me comfortable... It was just God.. Maybe it was because of the way I dressed that made her smile. I don't know. But there's something I very sure about. It was just God.

During interview, please stand firm. You could place your two hands on the platform which is on the cubicle to ease your mind of fright. Do not say unnecessary things. Be straightforward n plain. Don't give stories.. Or compliment any of them(I love your hair). The best you can say is "Thank you". They do not care. They are just doing their job. Someone did that shii and was denied. She didn't even smile at the compliment. She acted as if she didn't hear that... When the applicant left. She started laughing. And if during the interview you flop in one or two questions.. Don't place ur hands on your head or sigh deeply or make funny exclamations. Just stay put and smile. If you can't smile then bone up. Don't be dramatic abeg. Just have faith.

Hello everyone,
this is my first entry here, I spend months reading the posts here regarding USA visa's, great info indeed

I'm planning to undertake the NBDE exam "national board of dental examination" in the US, in which i'll be applying for a B1 visa, and the exam can only be taken in the US, the reason for taking the exam is that its a mandatory requirement if I want to apply for a specialty/graduate program in the US in the future.
to be brief, am kind of worried about my chances of getting the visa, I've read enough terrifying denial stories here :/
my profile:
male, single, 26 years old, I do have a great job in a dental office with a good salary, but am planning to have my father sponsor my trip since he has a better bank balance than i do, I don't have any relatives in the US, and i haven't traveled before

so what are my chances? and what can be done to make my case strong enough

thanks in advance

To me; your family ties. One answer leds to another question and chances to win the VO's mind. Are u married? Yes. And u didn't go there with your wife......so so wrong. Even if your wife won't be free by the time you're travelling he's less concern about that. Me and my wife was granted last month (June). They loves seeing u as family than single.

Don't see much of a problem here. Go for the interview and explain if question pops up concerning it. If you are so worried, you can fill another DS160 form and make the corrections. Good luck.

Click on FEEDBACK and advise the embassy on the development. Then, request to change your password. They will give you a temporary log in password which you can use to change the current hacked log in detail. I hope it helps.

Re: Usa Visit Visa by sam079: 2:17am On Jul 29, 2014
auntyliz: Dear All,

Please I'm hoping to get some advice on my application for a US tourist (B2) visa. My interview is in about 3 weeks time. Unlike the UK & Shengen applications, the US one is very confusing. They don't tell you what to bring or do. Please I am very confused about the application. Help!

Anyway, I have been to the US twice as a child when my dad was working for an oil company. I'm talking about 1992 thereabouts. Since then, it's all been trips to the UK as that is where we have family. Have also been to France twice. I schooled in the UK between 2003 and 2010. Been home since 2010, did my NYSC service, finished in 2012. I have a 5 year UK visitor visa which expired in 2016. I also had a 2 year shengen visa which expired this year March.
I started working permanently in an accounting firm in Dec 2013 & I earn around N100,000 a month with certain allowances which are paid every 3 months or so. Next allowance is in August just in time for it to reflect in my bank statement for the interview.

I am a 30 year old female. Single. My family friend who lives & works in the US as an engineer gave me an invitation letter stating I will stay in his house for my trip so I won't bear any accommodation cost. Also, I wrote that my mum is sponsoring my trip (which she is). She is paying for my ticket as well as giving me $1,000 for 10 days trip. Through work, I have saved an additional $1,000. So I will have $2,000 for the trip.

Now my confusion lies here: some people have said that I will be refused because I am 30 years old & I'm not totally sponsoring myself. I obviously don't earn enough to pay for both my expenses & plane ticket so my mum is supplementing the rest. She owns her own business & is able to do so without any problem. Will the fact that her 30 year old single daughter is depending on her look bad? I live with her & we both travelled to UK together in december 2013- a trip which she sponsored.

Also the fact that I am visiting & staying with a Nigerian (non-US citizen) male will be frowned upon since I am female going to stay with a male. I was told that the embassy will find it hard to believe that we are platonic friends. Apparantly, they will try to say that I am going to stay with my boyfriend in the US.
I'm not sure why they will think this. I won't have time to explain the following during the interview: my family owns a house here in Lagos which we've been living in since 1994. We also own a property in London which this family friend has stayed in when he visited us in London twice. Which is why he is inviting me to US to stay with him free of charge. Also, my work will happily give me a letter to state my role & all but I hear that they hardly look at documents.

Please what are my chances of getting a US visa. Just to visit for 10 days which is my leave allowance. Please help. God bless

They will still give you a visa. When you go for the interview, speak with a British accent to the person interviewing you. Because you lived in the U.K and you have travelled frequently they will not ask a lot of questions. I had my American visa interview two weeks ago and the interview stage literally took 20 seconds. I spoke with a British accent as I have lived in the U.K for seven years and I have been to the U.S once (eleven years ago). My visa was still approved (I wasn't asked for any documents). Your chances are very good.

Hello Nairalanders,
I am 21 years. I met an American woman on facebook. She and her husband introduced me to a network marketing business. I got interested in the business. So, they sponsored my registration financially. The husband has been chatting with me by email.
Now, they want me to come over there (US) for seminars in either December or January.
They are ready to stand as my sponsor and they are willing to provide any supporting documents for the invitation and sponsorship.
My questions are:

1. Is this a business visa or tourist visa?
2. What documents are required of them being my sponsor in this kind of situation?
3. What documents required are required of me?
4. And what are my my chances of being approved of this type of visa in this situation?
