Ask him to read this: http://www.vfsglobal.com/australia/nigeria/student.html You can ask specific questions if he hits a roadblock. A month and a week is enough time to apply if he's applying under SVP.

Cheers!

You dont need to write IELTS exam if your chosen university does not mandate it. Also, make sure your chosen course is on SOL or CSOL list. Sponsorship is hard for social sciences, I would recommend social work rather than human resources. the $23k is for one year o bro.
Lastly, aged care is the easiest job to get, although you can get other casual jobs too.

Hi guys, I have read the information on this page thoroughly - http://www.vfsglobal.com/australia/nigeria/student.html

I applied through an agent - BCIE and I just got my CoE from my school which is under streamlined visa processing. My agent sent me a list of requirements for my visa application and i got confused. See list below:

1) COE
2) INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT
3) 4 PASSPORT PHOTO(45mm*35mm) COLOURED, WHITE BACKGROUND
4) VISA FEE AND 535 US DOLLARS(PRINT DATE NOT LESS THAN 2006)
5) SERVICE FEE VFS-#38,730
APPLICATION FORM- DOWNLOAD FORM 157A AT www.immi.gov.au AND ASSESSMENT LEVEL 3&4 CHECKLIST
6) ALL ACADEMIC CERTIFICATES USED TO OBTAIN OFFERS
7] 3 MONTHS BANK STATEMENT SHOWING ENOUGH FUNDS TO COVER OUTSTANDING FEES OF TUITION AND 18,600AUD
8] LETTER OF SPONSORSHIP AND SWORN AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT
9] DOCUMENTS TO PROVE SOURCES OF FUNDS
10] EVIDENCE OF TAX PAYMENT

11) OTHER PROPERTIES DOCUMENTS IF AVAILABLE

When i applied for my course at Deakin Uni, i was asked to send a 1mth statement of account which i did before getting my CoE. When i called Deakin Uni, they said that they do the financial checks so that the visa board wouldn't have to. Hence i didn't think i would be asked for another 3 months financial statement for my visa application. Please can the house help me shed more light to this as i don't have the required money in my sponsor's account. Would i have issues if i refuse to include any financial statement to my application documents considering the fact that SVP is supposed to do so?

As far as SVP is concerned, you do not need items 7, 9, 10, 11. I'm sure you have already signed an SVP declaration form attached to your admission offer letter. If not, the Uni wouldn't have issued a CoE. However, I have come to realise that agents tend to ask for whatever documents they could think of, irrespective of the visa category.

Since you do not have the statement of account available, talk to your agent to let you submit your visa application without it. I understand they may be unwilling to accept this request. It is highly unlikely that the embassy would request for it as it is not a requirement under SVP.

In addition, do not forget to include a Statement of Purpose (max 2pages) as it is very important.

I think you should have asked your agent earlier on about their requirement and how much before you begin to process.like me I had to ask agents about their requirement and their price and some of them talked about this streamline visa thing and there's no need to submit bank statement if you are following this process.

You can find more information about SVP here:

Streamlined student visa processing arrangements have been available since 24 March 2012 for prospective international students with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from a participating university at bachelor, masters or doctoral degree level or for a non-award university student exchange or study abroad programme. These applicants are assessed as though they are lower migration risk (similar to the current Assessment Level 1), regardless of their country of origin.

Thanks a lot FutureDon. I almost forgot about my statement of purpose. I would speak to my agent about the SVP declaration form as it was not attached to my offer letter. All i got was an acceptance form and an acceptance checklist for AL3$4 and i am certain that Deakin Uni is under SVP. Is there anything else you think i should add?

I made all necessary inquiries and that's why i was prepared to show a statement of account with $30k+ just to receive a CoE. But i didnt think i would be asked to show a statement with $60k (balance of school fees + $18k) to apply for visa when my school is under SVP.

Is anyone currently about to or has just started processing his/her student visa 573 to AU on his/her own? Lets work together.

1. I think the name varies across institutions. For example, some institution refers to it as ''Declaration of Financial Capacity'' or simply ''Financial Declaration''.

2. Type of Program (e.g. BSc, MSc, MPhil, PhD...) and NOT type of institution determines if one qualifies for SVP.

I have been able to confirm that my program and school qualifies for SVP. There is an aspect of the visa checklist that asks for this - Proof of ties with home country/incentive to return to home country: All applicants are required to provide evidence of ties with the home country and incentive to return to home country
What do you think would be the best document to use to satisfy this requirement?

Excellent!

Now to your tricky question - I've had the opportunity to advise 3 people going for BSc, they all got their visas. Since they had no landed properties (to demonstrate home ties) at the time of applying, we made sure their SoP strongly demonstrate their intention to return home on completion of their program - this is very important. I would be happy to help you review your drafts at NO COST if you need me to.

Abeg, I'm not an agent oooo, these are people just known to me.

Pls for anyone who has paid for their Aus school fees or OSHC or any payment to an Aus business, with a GTB Naira Mastercard - Does the payment get deducted from the bank account mmediately, or does it take a while for the withdrawal of funds from bank account to complete...like a holding period?

The money gets deducted not immediately perse but within 24hrs.

However, you wouldn't be able to access it except the available balance.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 9:50pm On Aug 09, 2014
Okay. Here is exactly what the issue is -

Payment says completed
Available balance shows money deducted, but ledger balance still shows the money.

Could it take more than 24hrs in some cases?

This means the money is currently being processed and once they can verify the payment and what you are paying for, they would take the money. Within this period, you can cancel the transaction by going to the bank. This is very common with foreign online transactions.
