You don't need it at the admission stage. you ll only be required at even the final stage of your visa application. Focus now on your academic documents to be submitted to qualify for admission.

Hello Eke, I understand your plight currently and I wish I could help. So I went to ask some of the africans living in my dorm to clearify the stuffs as I didn't actually used a sponsorship letter. It doesn't take months to get. First, you have to know that your sponsor must be living legally in Germany and must earn up to a certain amount of money e.g 1500 Euros for some cities but the thing with most sponsors is that their stay is not legal or they don't earn enough to qualify as sponsors. I think the longest time it will take to get this letter is a week or thereabout. I will also advice you to let your sponsor write a letter to the consulate stating that he will be giving you money. If he really wants to help let him go the extra mile of also providing his pay slip to you, all this will be very convincing when you reapply. From the Information I gathered, your sponsor should go to the foreign office in his city, they will give him a form to fill and it should contain his personal information including how much he earns in some sort of a payslip. All other information he needs concerning you, he will contact you as there's a chance for him to go home with this form. I am trying to call terry01, he used a sponsor and he was successful but he's not picking his calls and I don't understand the blah blah blah they speak at the end of the call. I don't think he's active here much. I might see him in school tomorrow hopefully and I will ask him more about it but I mentioned him here, so I hope he see it and also reply you. Don't give up...Good things don't come easy. I know within me that Germany needs people like you and I hope a miracle happens for you to pull through... Alles gute!

Please do the person also need to go along with his bank statement? I mean to apply for the sponsorship letter. Danke

Pls when applying for an undergraduate degree taught in English, would I need to show proficiency in speaking German?

Also does the German embassy assess ur knowledge of German when applying for a student visa at undergraduate level in an English instructed program?

Someone with adequate info on the sponsorship letter procedure should help him please. A resourceful person like him should not wait forever to get answers when he is urgent need of them considering his immense contribution to this thread.
Thank you very much for calling the attention. I was refreshing every 15 minutes to get a response and had given up getting an answer that I didn't bother checking again yesterday.

HARTZIV:

in which city your sponsor is living?
every city has its own form
like Ndyoo said he has to go to the foreign office of his city to singn a form and he will need: 25 euro, a proof of income of the last 3 month and his id card or pass
your sponsor can find the "verpflichtungserklärungs" form online
google: verpflichtungserklärung formular *name of the city*
here are some exmample form:
berlin: https://www.berlin.de/formularserver/formular.php?115075
magdeburg: http://www.magdeburg.de/PDF/Antrag_auf_Entgegennahme_einer_Verpflichtungserkl%C3%A4rung_und_Beglaubigung_der_Unterschrift_inkl_Merkblatt.PDF?ObjSvrID=698&ObjID=2477&ObjLa=1&Ext=PDF&WTR=1&_ts=1403254610

Thank you bro. I appreciate

I guess things get worse before they get better. I pray the worse is over as my sponsor (cousin) is not even picking up my calls. I guess this only adds to the suspense and makes the victory better.
I want to send a mail to the embassy if I can get the old one (sponsorship letter) back so I can send it to my cousin to see if it could be corrected......the fight continues.

@kunlelikeme, congrats brother, Go and do well...

Also does the German embassy assess ur knowledge of German when applying for a student visa at undergraduate level in an English instructed program?

1.If your course is completely taught in English, you don't need to submit a proof of German language proficiency.

2. They will ask you if you have any knowledge of the language for record sake, but not having any knowledge is not going to deter your chances one bit as long as your course is completely taught in English. Even if it requires the German language proficiency, your school would likely have a preparatory language course for you if they are going to consider you without the German Language proficiency in the first place, so you are covered.

Note however, that having the knowledge of the language is very helpful in your social life and integration when you eventually get to Germany.

Hope you find it helpful.
Good luck!

I know you are not the type to give up so easily. When issue has gotten to this level, I think the best thing is to hand over the heart of sponsor into the hands of the Lord. Let's start from there before you trouble him again. Can we use tomorrow as fasting and prayer? I'm ready to join my faith with you and whosoever is interested; even if it is just till 12pm. I believe in efficacy of prayers. Let me know what you think. corporate prayers bring corporate anointing. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

If you have copies, you can send it. its way more cheaper and convenient.

@Kunlelikeme, I thank God yours was supportive. At this point, my calls are not being picked up by my sponsor to even compel him.
God is not sleeping though. So, the embassy didn't give you back the old one? Your sponsor had to do a new one right? How long did the first one take before it was issued to your uncle? Mine took months!

I agree with you on this. Lets support Eke with prayers. The bible says that the heart of the king is in the hands of the Lord. There so many things we don't have power over, but God is all powerful. Am in.

God bless you, that is where I'm trying to get in the bible. Proverb 21:1, The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. And I know He will turn the heart of Eke's sponsor to favour him in Jesus name.

The black market as at today in Benin, sells for 213 Naira to 1 Euro.
Last week Wed,Thurs and Fri,I bought at 210 Naira via same black market.
However, if you buy after 4pm anyday,it is lesser than buying at morning time.
Nevertheless, weekends are still cheaper comparably (From Research/Experience/Information)..
Its beginning to go up again I think. So,make haste I would suggest..
Stay Blessed!

Go to their offices o and NEVER, negotiate just by the roadside o. Some can be very phony.
I no want advertise contacts here. Here is what you should do, Google "Bureau Due Change, offices in Victoria Island and Ikeja". you will also see their official numbers there. Call as many as possible, bargain and note their addresses.
From there, you can plan on what to do.
