immediately most humans start succeeding devil will start injecting pride in them and they'll start thinking that they don't need anybody's help, even God's. Keshi was good until he started thinking that he's irreplaceable. You need to be dynamic in order to survive in this dynamic world where permanent struggling is the law of life. He that refuses to learn from even little things will end up knowing nothing. Farewell Okechukwu Keshi.

nigerians are so backward and doomed that they lack genuine reasons to celebrate hence they celebrate anything they see.
if u hear in the news now that Amodu has been sacked, 400 pages will be full here with celebrations.
Keshi's achievements are there and can be seen. did amodu achieve more than Keshi during his years as nigeria's coach?
who is even saying they sacked Keshi? does he have a contract with NFF before then?
well, i am a nigerian football fan rather am a chelsea fan so goodluck to u all nigerian fans.
very soon, it will be on news that amodu has been sacked and replaced by austin eguavon and then siasia replacing eguavon.
when was the last time we heard this name amodu as a coach? i even tot he has joined politics not knowing he has been waiting for his turn.

mixed feelings. There is no any difference between Keshi and Amodu. Both of them are craps. My hunch is that if Amodu manages to qualify us, the NFF will retain him and we will witness another episode of unspectacular display. We will never see good footballing in Nigeria until we,the football fans, are allowed to vote for the best coach.

Hear yourself out. How can you claim to have respect for an office when you dont respect the person occupying same office. As for Amodu i dont care how many times he has coached the SE, so far he delivers. He must have learnt or had experiences that would make him a better coach during those periods he was incharge. Lets give him the chance and support he needs. Atleast he is the listening type , he wont shut the door aganist our best legs

Trash and trash. How many times as Amodu coached us? What has he achieved? What best legs are you talking about? The weak legs Keshi fielded won us the Nations cup and got us of the WC. That has always being our final bus stop in WC's, so what is the issue. Must coaches always listen to the board. Do mou listen everytime, didn't he sell Mata who happens to be Chelseas best player. Didn't france ignore Nasir? Didn't Argentina ignore Tevez et al. Didn't Brazil ignore better players too? Didn't spain field same players leaving out inform players on the bench?

These things happen, am not a fan of Keshi but Amodu isn't a better replacement

Nigerians getting what they want since the time of post-Idiagbon. Discipline nor just rhyme with our nature at all. When you are resolved to do the right thing as a professional, Nigerians see you as stubborn and wicked. In Nigeria, you will often be hated if you stick to doing something with a bit of discipline. It is just who we are.

Comments expressed by many so called football lovers/fans can be so annoying sometimes. The game is being played for the fans and without the fans to follow and follow well out of love for the game, there is no game. But when the followers do not understand the game or its purpose; like, I dare say, we have in Nigeria, it gives me worry. I was enraged when I learnt that objects where thrown at Keshi in the stadium yesterday, I wondered, what type of nation or people are we? The problem of our football is not NFF, coaches or players. Its the bad followers. Illitrate, Selfish and ungrateful followers.

Some compare the super eagles a national team to a clubside.
To some, its all about who plays and who doesn't play.
To some its about who gets sacked and who gets hired.
Who is good and who is bad.
Who did well and who did bad.
Who won, who lost.
Who gets paid what.
Some are after what enters their pocket.
Winning all the time no matter what.

Nigerias football lovers should understand that it is good to always win, qualify for tournaments and win trophies. But that's not all that a nations football is all about. England readily comes to mind as a nation that benefits the most from football even though the national team is not very successful in tournaments. And we need to learn a lot from them. They achieve this not because they have better players or talents or are better administrators. They achieve this because of the people who support the game out of love for it.

Football like other sports gives people jobs, it keeps youths busy and out of trouble, it entertains, it unites, stimulates economy etc, whether you qualify for tournament and win trophies or not.

SouthAfrica have discovered this and see how their football is growing and soon enough they will begin to reap real benefits if they haven't started.

Followers should follow the game for the right reasons. Public comments online or otherwise are very powerful and influential, therefore commentators should be thoughtful and careful when making them.

Then the media should educate and enlighten more than being opinionated.

With this and people that love the game in NFF, we will get our football to where we want.

Best wishes.

Good luck though to Amodu.

No bother yourself my brother. This people lack brain and common sense of their own when it comes to matters like this. Some journalist puts out stupid arguments against the man and the natural thing for the football following public is to re-state those argument over and over again like it was theirs originally until they completely believe it to be the absolute truth. In cases like this, thinking is a luxury for many.

I can not understand why someone who delivered a CUP we saw last since 1994 would still be treated with disdain.
I can not understand why you will not want to sign a new contract with a coach who just delivered less than a year and half.
Oh, I remember it is Nigeria- where old military retirees were turned to abuja beggars because they weren't paid thier dues.
I remember it is Nigeria where Nitel staff are still begging for entitlements when all our gsm companies had celebrated a decade of cashing-in trillions.
I remember it is Nigeria where the evils are praised while the good ones are persecuted.
Nigerians actually deserved worse than they are getting from politicians.
Nigeria and Nigerians are ungrateful.
You may call me APC stooge for this because you ve seen a yoruba man. However, my view is solely my conviction.

And where was that extra effort all this while? Can tactics execute itself on the field of play without effort from the players?
if you watched nigeria's last 3 matches you would understand that his plan is always crossing the ball from defence to attack. this has never yielded a good result but the boys keep playing that way. and when someone(osaze) once tried to change it he said the young man played against instructions. presently our players have a better game plan than the coach. beside the fact that he's lost his quality, he's also arrogant and acts like he has nothing to lose and putting the SE in the hands of a man who doesn't care is like buying a strikes who doesn't care if he scores or not.

if you watched our 2010 wc qualifying matches then you'll have many reasons to think amodu is better. this same amodu you're criticizing has qualified nigeria twice for the world cup, and most importantly he has no sentiments attached when selecting his squad unfortunately we can't say same about keshi.and most importantly WE PLAYED GOOD FOOTBALL" not what we play today.

Picknick and Co. just saved me couple of 90 precious minutes of my life until atleast after the next ANC when I will decide whether I shall resume watching SE. Now I can just concentrate on European football where both administrators and fans understand the game. And where corrupt government do not run football.
SORRY FOR THIS COUNTRY!!!

Nigeria's New Coach: What You Should Know About Shaibu Amodu

It is no longer news that the Nigerian Football Association has dismissed the Super Eagles Coach – Stephen Keshi and appointed Shaibu Amodu as the new coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

This replacement occurred after the Super Eagles won the match against Sudan with a 3 goals to 1.

Many football critics and analysts in the country have been expressing their opinions in relation to Kechi’s dismissal by the NFF. While many took the side of the NFF and applauded them for their decision, some sneered at it saying that NFF made the right decision at the wrong time.

The critics also pointed out that NFF should not have made such a vital change in this moment that the Super Eagles have a little chance to qualify for 2015’s AFCON.

However, as Shaibu Amodu prepares to lead Super Eagles to next year’s African Cup of Nations, it would be noted that Amodu has left a mark in
Edo State’s football industry and he has also contributed to the growth of soccer in the country. His hardwork and humility has been noted by his superiors in the sports industry.

Below are some facts you should know about him:

Shaibu Amodu was born in Edo State and he is 56 years old.
Amodu has been very active in the football leadership unit in the country. He has served the country three times: 1998 –1999, 2001–2002 and 2008–2010.
He once served as the Coach of home based Super Eagles.
In 2013, Amodu was namedas director of National teams in the country and in the same year he became director of Bendel Insurance F.C.
He has also coached many local clubs which include: BCC Lions, Sharks F.C, El Kanemi Warriors, Orlando Pirates and Shooting Stars.
He was appointedas Coach of the National side in 2008 and was fired during 2010’s AFCON.
More of his achievements includes: Nigerian FA tittles with BCC Lions of El Kanemi Warriors.

Emmysteve:
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in the early hours of Thursday have announced the contract termination of Coach Stephen Keshi as the Super Eagles head coach.

After a long hours meeting of the Executive board members held at the Transcrop hilton hotel in Abuja the board unanimously agreed to part away with the Big Boss and his technical crew.

Speaking with cross section of the press shortly after the meeting at 1am Nigeria time on Thursday, first vice President of the Federation, Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi said the Federation appreciated Keshi and will give due support to him and his technical crew.
“You could recall Keshi and his technical crew
contract expired after the World cup, and the federation have decided not to renew their contract,” Akinwunmi revealed.

“The Federation appreciated his effort for the success he achieved and the development of our football.
“We have decided to sponsor him and his technical crew (Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shoromu) to any choice of their coaching school to acquire for more knowledge in the game at our expenses,” Akinwunmi said.

Former Niger Tornadoes player, Shaibu Amodu returns as the team interim coach to be assisted with three coaches from the Glo Premier League.
“We have two more important matches in the
qualifiers which we hope to secure full points, and qualify for the Nations Cup.

“Coach Amodu will take over of the team as interim coach, to be assisted by Salisu Yusuf (El Kanemi Warriors) and Gbenga Ogunbote (Sharks FC) while former Green Eagles goalkeeper, Alloy Agu will be the goalkeeper trainer,” the NFF official divulge.

Super Eagles will travel next month to face
Congo and host South Africa in Nigeria in the last phase of the qualifiers.

Moreover u peoples shd calm down, NFF did not appoint Amodu as SE substantial Coach, he'll just be there to handle SE two remaining qualify matches on interim bases.
