I am against it because it is just religious discrimination and publicity. The Official Language of the Christians is Hebrew actually.. Why can't the Gov put Hebrew on the Notes? The official Language of the Muslims is Arabic. Why is Arabic on the Note?

Arabic is not our language so is English but our official language is English. Just like Niger, their official language is French.

Now how many people can read Arabic ? Lets be honest with ourselves, the only Arabic likes of us can recognise are the ones written in the Quran not taking it to the extent of writing it on our money.

In Nigeria, we need to take different groups along, the Christians are not comfortable with the Arabic inscription on the Note. Why not just remove it and write in Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and English. This why we can convert more Christians to Muslims just as Prophet Mohammed said (S.A.W)

This issue is just a simple one! Arabic is never a Nigeria language. Those canvassing for it as a language understood by most people in the North are doing that with selfish religious sentiments without a fair consideration of many other minorities in the north that do not understand Arabic because the do not learn it. We are well aware that most Muslims learn arabic at early age which aids their understanding of the Quaran but this is not so across the north. Northern Nigeria is rather more unified by the Hausa language which cuts across ethnicity and religions. Therefore inscribing Hausa language is more unifying and increases the no of people that will understands whatever message is being passed across on the currency. Additionally, it is better to avoid everything that would tilt Nigeria towards any religious prejudice now, if anything is to be inscribed on Nigeria currency, let it be the official local and major languages recognized in Nigeria!

The essence of the currency is for people to use it, if you make it difficult for a good part of the people it is meant for to identify and use it, then you have only proven to be myopic.

I also find it funny that the opponents of the Arabic script are motivated by hate and to a lesser extent fear. Removing the scripts will not change their fear or reduce their hate. I find it amusing as a result.

In the same currency all the other languages are written signifying the worth of the naira e.g Nàírà Méwàà, Naira Iri and Naira Goma. Notice both the Yorubas and Igbos write in Latin alphabet. If the Hausas preferred to write their language in Arabic alphabet why stop them?

I am sure you are. I grew up in the northern part of Nigeria, in 1992 my best friend's dad was slaughter in their presence, their mum was beaten until they thought she was dead. All because they were Christians. They were the only Christians living in a block of 8 flats, their flat was at the extreme end, they came to only their flat and kill his dad in their presence. In ABU Zaria (Kongo campus), a catholic church that has been there for more that 30 years was to be rebuilt, the management of the school refused and instead pull it down to plant flowers.
