Lol, Coogar's sarcasm is legendary. The same Africa everyone's trying to get out of? Marcus Garvey's "back to Africa" boat is lost forever like the Kingdom of Atlantis. They just need to rally around one another, like the rest of black diaspora, and keep hoping for a better day. While we all hope God turns the fortunes of Africa around - and make it a place we can all call home.

Well, real gangsters are in the minority, in the black community in diaspora. And a lot of folks are just products of their environment, with certain influences. Big ups to ya brothers for staying out of gangs. I agree with you that we need to stop blaming the system. Yes, the system might be flawed, but we've gone past the stage of blaming the system, as a people, and it's time we started focusing on how dysfunctional our communities are, due to bad economics, single parent households, and the destruction of our family structure. I don't see how any woman in her right mind would come on this thread to stand up for 'her men'. It's turned into the classic NL, overly gendered, male vs female affair.
