SAAF/SADF shot down 3 Mig-23ML's in Angola
http://www.mercenary-wars.net/angola/angola-86-89/russian-downed-pilots.html

Nope ! Your own source says the MiG-23 were shot down by army anti--aircraft guns and missiles, not air to air jet combat that I am asking for.

You didn't know that last year @Andrewza admitted on this forum that South African Mirage F1 pilots could not challenge Cuban MiG-23 pilots air to air because the Cubans will wipe out SAAF from the air!

Also from your source we see that UNITA takes glory for 80% of the bush war effort as proved below :

October 24, 1987 MIG-23 ML? 1 Cap. Lorenzo Morales Ramos? Shot down by MANPADS (anti-aircraft force UNITA)
40. October 28, 1987 MIG-21 UM Luvuey - Lt. Cor. Manuel Rojas, Cap. Ramon Quesada Aguilar. Shot down by antiaircraft fire from UNITA. Captured.
41. November 25, 1987 MIG-21? ? No data.

43. November 29, 1987 MIG-23 ML Cuito? Felled by G-5 of the SADF.
44. November 29, 1987 MIG-23 ML Cuito? UNITA shot down by MANPADS

It stand for display as in the sight is displayed on the helmet and not only on the HUD, and as i have clearly stated before a hms and hmsd is the same, hence the reason the word OR was used to indicate that a helmet used for targeting or cueing of weapons can either be called a hms OR hmsd, its 2 different names for the same thing.

South African Navy OPV and IPV purchase confirmed!!

South Africa will be ordering 3 OPV's and 3 IPV's
http://www.engineeringnews.co.za/article/start-of-acquisition-process-for-six-new-sa-navy-patrol-vessels-confirmed-2014-03-20

The interesting part

For reasons of seaworthiness and endurance, and to be able to effectively operate a helicopter, the new OPVs are expected to be much larger, displacing perhaps 2 000 t or even more.

Yes, that is right, our 3 new OPV's will all be bigger than Nigeria's new "light frigates" (which weigh in at 1,440 tons), meaning that (by the Nigerian definition) South Africa will have a fleet of 7 Frigates

Just like no contract has been signed for your Junk Fighters

Did you not read the artical? The SANDF does not panic buy like Nigeria, we take our time, we study the ships and what is best suited to our needs, we are in no rush. The RFI has been issued, RFQ for the IPV's was issued on December 3rd and the tender will be closed in June, OPV acquisitions will begin thereafter
http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=37288:movement-on-the-ipv-front&catid=111:sa-defence&Itemid=242

Not to mention that the number of IPV's to be acquired now stands at 6, not 3.

And unlike your day dreams about obsolete Pakistani knock-offs, our project have clear mile-stones and come with concrete information.

"broke" SADF just outdid Nigeria in one fell swoop, soon orders will be places for 3 "light frigates" that bring our tally up to 7.

Deal with it.

Yes my friend every normal person knows cold air is more dens, but the higher you go the less dens the air is fact, and as a regular golfer i can tell you that i and everybody else for that matter hit the ball farther in the highveld for example in Joburg than at sea level for example in cape town. Why you might ask, its because air is less dense at higher altitude than at lower altitude.

Maybe you should come to SA to receive some decent education!
