This is one of the reasons I still know God hasn't completely washed his hands off our matter in this world.. We stay hearing horrible stories everyday and you wonder if we still have access to God's love.
Blessed mama, this time we'll hear the voice of the mom and the cry(ies) of the baby(ies).. Take care.

pls note that it is only advisable to send this type of letter if you got your visa before you got pregnant and not that you were pregnant when you went for the interview and lied about it
These letters dont have a fixed format, all the same, here is a sample
Dear Sir/Ma
My name is ------- with pasport number------. I got a b1/b2 2 years visa for the pupose of vaccation on ------, i now wi
sh to use the visa to travel to the US for birthing pupose. I am aware of the financial and other implications of this which includes having enough funds to cover the hospital and doctors bills ,contacting and booking an appointment with a hospital and a gyneacologist ,booking accomodation etc.
I would be greatful if my records with you could be updated to reflect this.
Yours truely
------------

@Babatwi...

what if one has not discovered the pregnancy then? got my visa in October for the purpose of vacation in December. although hubby and I have always been nursing the idea of having our baby in the USA. We didn't even have a serious questioning at the VO's because we had one 3 months J-visa that was given to us based on a training hubby went for in 2013 and I only spent 2 weeks in the states. During the questioning, I think the VO noticed number of years of marriage with no kids and asked if I was going to seek medical assistance which I answered no. We were given the visa

Discovered shortly after that i am preggy and a couple of weeks gone (meanwhile we have been trying for a child for 3 years now). After I discovered I mentioned to a friend who said I can send them a mail to inform them.

But am kinda confused now since you mentioned that is for pple that were not really preggy as at day of interview.

Would appreciate if you can shed more light as I will not want to do something that will thwart future renewal opportunities although we already cancelled our December vacation so we could go for childbirth. Your response will be appreciated.

Congrats Nef. God does answer prayers.

Congrats to. All d new mammas n papas as. Well.God is indeed fAithfullm
Been ages I came here, handling 2 under two babies aint easy.#
Anywys, back in d country. Nepa no just dey try at all.
To answer d uestions thrown at me,
For baby docs, I didn't go to Tucson mainly cos of d stress nd lso, 40k+ for cab was. Just much. Since I was going back to NJ, decided to ply for d pssport in Newyork. It took me just bout 40 mins at d passport office nd I ws told to come bk for pickup next day. Went to the Naija house in Newyok too, I had already applied online before going and paid 70 dollars, went with d $30 mmoney order as well. The docs u need to take are consent letters from both parent(it doesn't mtter if u are both present), printout from d. Online appliction, $30 dollr money order, copy of passport data pages. U need to get there before 12m u cn ignore d appointment date given during d online appliction. I did.
Took bout 3 hours plus but I ws lucky my sis saw someone she knew thhere so we got d passport tht day. Did d two passport same day.
Travelling bk was d biggest testimony as I didn't have to pay a dime for my baby's ticket. Flew delta and I already heard gist of them charging 400+ dollars for babyit was just a shock cos I mentnted to purchase my bby's ticket on my mom's as I had my toddler's on mine. She just said since he was below two, then it was free. I told her it wasn't just a local flight as I was still flying to Lagos from Atl and she said saame. Me I kuku asked her to print boarding pass for d two legs of d journey. Jfk to Atl and Atl ro Los. So I won't be asked to buy in atlanta. Na so I even checked in 10kg for d baby o on top free things.
Back home now, trying to comprehend how Nepa fuctions once again!
All d best to everyone! Pray we all have a better and more wonderful 2015!
Pls ignore any typos.

sayoberry:

pls what airline did you use?
We used Delta. Think about other airlines or must it be only emirate?
Omodaraju:

Emirates will fly you direct from dubai to Dallas or Houston. If you are avoiding Houston as your POE, you will have to use a domestic airline or mega bus or grey hound bus from Dallas to Houston.
My dear I won't advise a pregnant woman to do grey hound or megabus as the bus station may be another journey. Even changing to a local flight can be a herculean task as the boarding gates may be miles apart. They will also charge separately for checked in bags.

Sayo, put your comfort ahead of any other need since you don't want to go through houston POE. That emirate flight is long on its own. If emirate won't work consider Delta, Airfrance, BA, Turkish etc.

As has been mentioned above, there are no fast rules with such letters to the embassy. What i was trying to discourage was people telling lies at their interview section and writting the letter as an easy way out. I guess you can write the letter to them since your own case is diffrent. Most of us on this thread just offer advice based on experiece not as authority in these matter and we stand to be corrected

So, here’s how our (my wife and I) interview went- by a male VO. Ours was in two parts:

VO: I see you are going to Sugarland, Texas. What for?
(Our accommodation booking is in Sugarland and we are using Oakbend/Dr. Fagbohun)
Me: For vacation and to have our first baby.
VO: Say that again?
Me: For vacation and to have our first baby.
VO: Oh, ok. Have you got a Dr’s correspondence?
I pass him my email correspondence with Fagbohun, the letter stating all the fees and my budget sheet showing birth costs, flights costs et al
VO: What’s the total cost for this birth?
Me: A little over 6000 dollars
VO: Uhhmm.....it usually costs about 6 to 7 times that amount.
Me: This is in Texas and ....
VO: (cuts in) Yea...more like 6 times that amount. Have you got a consolidated estimate from the Dr. showing the total cost you'd be expected to pay? Cos this here, (holding the Fagbohun letter) is generic and can be used by anyone.
Me: It’s all summed up in my budget sheet.
VO: No, I want something from the hospital saying this is how much it would cost you- Mr. XX to have x procedure done.
Me: Ok
VO: So, what do you do?
Me: I work as XX with XX
VO: Can I see your badge?
I pass him my work I.D and he makes a scan.
VO: (Turns to my wife) So, ma'am what were you doing previously before.....?
Wife: Well, I still work. I am a XX with XX.
VO: Ok. So here’s what I’m gonna do, I'll suspend your application and you go get a letter addressing you specifically showing ‘a consolidated estimate of medical care in the U.S’. Take this (hands me a white sheet) and come back with the additional document requested on any of the specified days and you'll be let in. You do not need to make another appointment online.
Wife and I: Ok.

He didn't check bank statements, office letter of introduction et al, no job description nor salary questions, no travel history questions.

Will drop the second interview 'transcript' shortly.

lol cheesy I was El paso bound but hubby said we should go to st Louis. So the search has begun my sis. I had everything set for el paso, from appointment to documentation process. Now am back to square one cry

Pls I need your help o. I guess you are going earlier as I intend travelling in April. So your wealth of experience will be really helpful to me. I have visited mobap's website and saw two gyneas. But I haven't contacted them. As regards the hospital bill, am going by what your sister inlaw helped confirm. I will call after the holidays to book an appointment after I must have gotten an affordable gynea.

My challenge now is the step by step process for securing baby's documents. I hope you will also help in that regard. wink

i finally got my Zero balance yesterday from gwinnett, after i mailed the management on friday, a lady from the financial department was assigned to help sort my issue out and the excess bill was withdrawn, so am cleared…
please for those that applied for niaja passport in atlanta, do you get the passport same day you go for the interview? and after paying online and buying the 30 dollars money order, do i buy a self addressed overnight delivery envelope or i also do that as money order and they sort it themselves?

Please can tell us your bill breakdown and your personal experience at the hospital.thank you

@ Comfort Baba Tvegas and Sayoberry. I definitely agree that the domestic flight will be more comfortable than the buses. However if she hasn't booked the domestic flight early enough, the costs may be too high when she it's closer to the date of travel. I was also letting her know the options from Dallas to houston as I deduced that she wants to avoid houston POE at all cost.
Flying direct from naija to houston may not cut it as the comfort derived may be eroded by the harsh grilling and treatment from the overzealous houston CBP officers. And I assume that emirates may be cheaper than some other airlines.

It's all love, please do your research and comfort versus cost analysis and pick what's best and safe for you.

Planning this American dream trip needs a lit of permutation and combination.

There have been reports that visa will be refused because they are not a genuine organisation.
