you don't know a thing about Christianity, only God can judge, you can't change our minds with what you said, even if we pay our first fruit offering to a fake church and pray about it, God sees all, God knows all, he knows I paid it with my hard earned money, it's left for GOD to judge the pastor if he uses God's money for his selfish interest
You obviously don't know your left from your right. You just go by whatever you hear. Telling a family man to starve his family and bring you his January salary. This is the hight of wickedness.
I thank God that Jesus Christ nor his apostles did not tell anybody to bring his January pay to them. You can do what you feel like but I am convinced that whatever you do attract a zero result. The evidence is everywhere. Just check around your church and see poor people everywhere.

Please enlighten the people more. Tithe as important as it is today in our churches was never a teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul who wrote 1/3 of the New Testament never taught about tithing. Do where did that come from Tithing was a culture of the Israelites before the coming of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

As a leader in one of the Pentecostal churches, I've stopped 'paying tithe' because I realised tithe is not meant to be paid according to Bible teachings. In fact the Bible said you should only convert your tithe into money then buy what pleases you when you're bringing your tithe for the purpose of convenience.

In addition, even of it were meant to be paid, it was meant for the Levites. Assuming but not conceding that we can identify the Levites among us (which is practically impossible), are they still entitled to it since everybody now partakes in inheritance, at least in Nigeria here.

[size=20pt][b]When you want to preach repentance, and born-again stuff you will quote John 3:16 and everything possible in New Testament

When you want to preach offering and tithes stuff you will quote Malachi 3:10 and everything possible in Old Testament

They are called Christian because they are Christ-like and not because of Tithes and Offering contributed

Where did Jesus collect tithes & offering from his followers in the Bible? He never did

They talk about the curse of Tithe in Malachi 3,,, as if they have not read Gal 3:13

Gal 3:13 CHRIST HAST REDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW, BEING MADE A CURSE FOR US, FOR IT IS WRITTEN, CURSED IS EVERY ONE THAT HANGETH ON A TREE.

Maybe to them the Curse on the Law of Tithes is not part of what Jesus has redeemed us from?

Maybe to them Jesus can forgive other sins, save sinners from going to hell, heals the sicks and raise the dead, forgives generational curse; but when it comes to Tithes Jesus becomes powerless to break the curse on tithes & offering?

IF JESUS WERE TO BE ON EARTH TODAY, WILL TITHES BE IS MAJOR CONCERN? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. BECAUSE, WHEN HE WAS HERE, THAT WAS NEVER IS CONCERN... BUT NOW THAT JESUS IS IN THE HEART OF MEN, TITHES SUDDENLY BECOMES THE MAJOR TALKING POINT

Note: just like any social organization, it's nice to contribute financially for necessity purposes; but promoting tithes and offering as the major concern in church is not Godly. Jesus Christ & His Disciple never promoted the gospel of Tithes & Offering. How comes this generation?

Criticism are welcomed, and I do appreciate and respect others different point of views

Many thanks.

Nice shot! I gave everything in my wallet last week sunday as offering but felt bad after the service when a young boy weakly walked up to me and told me he was hungry and needed any amount to buy food. I could not give him a dime but just added to the billions my church already have. May the Lord open our eyes.

Exactly. First fruit is your first and best, given to the Lord. Ask Abel
Did Abel give all the yield of his farm to God, he took the best. In the old testament God instructed them not to pick all the produce of their farms but leave some for the widows and orphans.

All I know is you can give your first fruit at any season not necessarily your January salary and I will rather identify a need in the house of God and meet it or identify the less privileged around me and give them my first fruit or my tithe rather than give any nigerian pastor!!

Just curious...you seem to be very passionate about this first fruit offering....help me understand....January salary should be offered because January is the first month of the year. I get that. What if I am paid weekly?...do I offer my first week pay for the year?....or do I offer the first week pay of each month?.....or is my first pay check period the first fruit? Help me bro....the meaning of first is confusing me.

Calculate the bulk,an give it in faith. Remember, it is not compulsory

And since when is the Pastor your responsibility? Is his hands broken that he cannot work. Does your Pastor do more work than Paul of the new testament did? Yet Paul clearly was a lawyer and still mended tents for a living so that he will not be a burden to the church of Christ.

Yuk!! Inability to think and question critically is the worst thing that can happen to a human.

Tithe is a sensitive subject in Nigeria because most 'christians' (pastor/GO worshippers) listen to thier preachers but fail to read the bible.

The old testaments have many mentions of tithes especially Malachi 3:10 (the favourite quote) but so far i have only seen 1 mention of tithe in the new testament Matthew 23:23 How terrible for you, teachers of the law....you give to God a tenth of the seasoning herbs.....but you neglect to obey the really important teachings of the law such as justice and mercy and honesty...

Also in the new testament, Jesus told the rich man to sell all his possessions and give the proceeds to the poor. Mathew 19:16-22

So my opinion, do what you think is right. But let your decision come from the truth..what is the truth? The BIBLE not what your pastor says.

Mathew 23 is a good read for all ye worshippers of men.

I am not attacking the church of Christ. I am showing you your foolishness. There is no scripture that says your January salary is your first fruit. Is that hard for you to understand? For Gods sake take up your bible and study for yourself.

just as the Bible enjoins us to "study and set yourself approved......" please study that you may know the truth and it shall set you free!

Earthly prosperity does not necessarily translate to making heaven.

The reasons why Nigerians still believe in god and all these religion scams after what is going on in this country and around the world, are the reasons why I think it will take ages for revolution to actually take place in this country. Take a black man and imprint a doctrine of belief into his dud brain and cultivate it with fear of the consequence of not imbibing it, and you will have easy control of his miserable life. A black man thinks based on what he hears and sees not what he feels from his neutral perception.

The major difference between the white and the black is, one is adventurous and inquisitive (want to know why) while the other is subservient and conservative, little wonder blacks were stark idol worshipers before the arrival of Europeans. Many lives are being lost to religion everyday and people are still committing themselves to it blindly, well, they want to go to PARADISE and ALIJANAH after death. Life after death, life after a decomposed body grin, so much for a bamboozled brain indeed.

I just hope the innocent ones can start thinking right on time for themselves to make this world the paradise, rather than craving for illusory paradise from their bogus region

You are truly blessed. The truth is we have so many naive and gullible souls who are mentally and blindly glued to their pastors. Such folks never develop any intimacy with God but are swayed by all forms of doctrines emanating from these celebrity-styled pastors who are serving their own bellies. Only few pastors are treading the path of integrity and such pastors display the fruit of selflessness, humility and Christ likeness, Only to such pastors can I support, because we have lots of wolves in sheep's clothing exploiting the gullibles and defiling the altar.

Laughable it is Op. You say they are brainwashed yet their lives are better of. As long as you continue to use your naive mind to define the things of the Spirit it will always look like foolishness unto you. There is a place of giving to the needy which is quite different from tithe, and one doesn't stop the other. Your arguement will not fly coz many lives (including me) are been blessed by obeying this simple kingdom instruction. Go turn a Pastor if you are interested in the 'largesse'
