i think medela is good. the single pump is $35 on amazon

Pls did you make this hospital payments after delivery as you stated during labour was your first time of going to oakbend. Just that I stay with a family friend and oakbend is a little of a distance from where I am so my antenatal venue is the one closest to me ie gulfton medical centre with dr fagbohun

If you produce a lot of milk, then please buy the medela electric pump. It is worth every expensive dollar it costs! Especially if you plan to have more kids. I've had mine since my first son 4 yrs ago and brought it with me for my new baby, in between my sister and cousin used it sef (they bought their own accessories though).
If your milk flow isn't that much, then the manual on should work just fine. I got a free one from the hospital and use it when I don't feel like plugging the electric one.
If you end up with the electric one, make sure you buy extra membranes cos they wear our pretty quickly depending on how much you use the pump sha.

I think people are getting tired of answering the same questions over and over again. Let's all try to use the search to look for answers. You would even see more than enough. Eg. Type in Fagbohun or Oak bend and make sure you are searching within the travel section.

It's xpensive yes! Bt so far it's d best i've used. I used it while in d hosp & was given d manual one & i'm enjoying it. Its sooo worth d amount if u r buyn d electric

I need urgent advise on this. You guys have been really helpful.

My self and my child have 2yrs Visa we got in 2014, we travelled in the same year and spent 2 to 3weeks. we currently in naija. While we were dere, my hubby applied for d visa for the 1st time stating he was going for a conference for enterpreneurs in a state he knew nobody. He wasn't given d visa. This was around october lastyr.

My questn is, I would be going to deliver my baby in d US come May 2015 and would like him&my first child to join me dere close to my EDD.

Do u advise he reapply?

Should he apply again in Lagos or go through Abj?

If he's asked about the conference thing he was refused, what should he say.

I have a family there cos I went for a vacatn during my 1st visit but he failed to mention he had a family member in the US but not in the state he was going for the conference!

What documents should he take wt him and how should he answer if he his asked what he's going there for.

What should he do?

If you've had a complication free pregnancy n no complications with baby the estimate is $9500 all inclusive( epidural peadiatrician etc) and you are not charged extra if you come for false labour.
Heard Prince george is cheaper though, but I got confused dr Akoda said estimate is about 4500-6500( his secretary) but the hospital sent me a quote of $10,000.

My view is that he reapplies when you've travelled to the US already. He can then attach all your documents as burden of proof, I think he will be given.

Meanwhile, you also need to check why he was rejected in the first place, if it's the usual "not so sure he will return", then it shouldn't be a problem. But if it was for more serious reasons, then it may be tough.

I also believe the interview location is irrelevant, but folks here have implied that Abuja is much more better than Lagos.

Next best is madela freestyle(it pumps both breasts and its hands free costs about $350
Madela swing takes a lot of time to pump and can only pump one breast at a time and you have to hold it but it's about $100
All are electric.heard manual pumps are useless for first timers donno
Was told to request for an European cord as it won't work in naija due to voltage difference
So no buggie for me yay!
America uses 110 volts we use 240 volts , I was told they sell the extra cord for u so u can use that in naija,instead of a transformer which would burn it Pls am curious to know too

I av medela swing and I got it from walmart, it's not $100 oh. I got my for $190 or so with tax but u can check d website to kno d exact cost. Also it doesn't waste time cos with mine, I get up to 300ml-400ml in 30mins max.

Medela Symphony is mainly used by hospitals. It's too expensive. Medela ffree style is very good too cos a friend has it but I felt it was too expensive though it's d two boobs u xpress from at once

Yes u need a step-down inorder for it not to burn while usin it in naija. I got a step down for 1500k and that was what I used tru out. If u want to alternate with battery, I ll recommend panasonic battery cos it lasts alot.

Pls be aware that any of d medela u buy, u av one year warranty so if any part is bad, call d medela number on d seal and they ll be glad to replace it though u ll av to send d bad part back after u receive d replacement parts.

Very correct. U ll need a step down for it. Not only medela sef. Most US appliances. Their voltage is 110watt and ours is 220watt

I've got an evenflo double breast pump (electric) with an handsfree pump holder to give out for free. I also have loads of playtex bottle liners as well as several sterile breast milk storage bottles to give out. Any interested mom that can access Marina, Lagos Island area can PM me so we discuss how she can pick them up from my office.

I used Evenflo electric dual pump. its so effective and has the option of battery, though I never used the battery option, and you can pump the two breast at the same time, though I kept one side should one get bad, but it never did, I just finished my 6 months exclusive, and it was super useful, as I had to pump and keep in the freezer on daily basis so my daughter could eat while I was at work. now we are acting drama of introducing food. that's off question, so back to the question, I did find my Evenflo electric dual pump over useful.
