You know what. Mind your religion/denomination and speak not what you don't know. Even the apostles and early christians had traditions that are not in the bible. Most modern catholic practices started from the time of the early christians. So if sth is not in the bible, it's wrong? You can't use the brain God gave you to other meaningful things other than what's in the bible. Abstaining from meat is a form of self mortification to allign yourself with the suffering. Learn to tolerate peoples beliefs and practices instead of being a bigot

i dont know if it is idolatry. i am slowly starting to find out that a higher power picked these dates for a certain reason. for example the luna eclipse called the blood moon is on april 4th. this is a celestial event on the feast of passover, which passover is proceeded by the commemoration of the ressurection ( EASTER ) which is the 5th of april the next day. so i dont know. it may be pagan, it may not be. however my own issue is WHERE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT SAY DO NOT EAT MEAT

It has nothing to do with the bible or superstition.
It is just an act of denying yourself some pleasure which you enjoy regularly (self mortification) to align your self with the suffering of Jesus on good friday. Some people abstain every Wednesday and Friday, some throughout lent. may just not be on good Friday alone. Some people abstain from alcohol or s.ex or some other activities which they enjoy.

Abstaining from meat is part of mortification during fasting. The idea is that you deny yourself some pleasue. Normally one cannnot do without meat. Suffering oneself is a sacrifie.
