My friend, the only war that will bring Nigeria to her knees is when the entire southern part of the country fight side by side against the Northern part of the country. And it ll be difficult to achieve this alliance against the North considering the fact it's only Yorubas (Edos and others) that ll never allow tribal sentiment to overshadow their sense of reasoning.

However, Yorubas ll never go into any stupid war with either Ijaws or trouble seeking Igbos, but in case history wants to repeat itself again (Igbo wants to go and liberate their yoruba friends again), that ll be the beginning of d end of the war. Igbos have done more harms to the unity of this beautiful country than good and I don't know why our leaders could not come together to ask them to go so as to enjoy our peaceful co-existence with others (I know things are not done that way but it ll save us from killing one another as a nation)

Yorubas and Hausas/Fulanis are not smiling dis days with Igbos ooooo, go on different Fora and see d reality on ground my friend and Igbos started it..........

I pray against any war but if a war break out today in Nigeria, wt the mood of Hausas and Yorubas, there won't be a single of Igbo in the North and west trust me

They opened the old wounds

Historically, wars are not fought and won by weapons alone but wisdom and intelligence.
just what is it about the igbos that drive sleep from your eyes?

Its your type that brings about all these rancor in the country today, why not get something doing? That way at least you won't care about the igbos losing it all in politics

Pls Mr am a lady ok. And to the point you raised what happened when Jonathan won the elections?? Book haram. You think it's the North alone that knows how to be violent? The don't need any backing. They did it before and the can do it again. If Nigeria can survive with oil why the over dependence on oil? Lol. Have you been to the creeks before? You think if the violence starts it will be restricted to the creeks alone? Someone said that the arms in Rivers alone enough to take on the whole country. Relocate to Chad. See how sweet it sounds in your mouth easier said than done. Am sure what the are waiting for is for Jonathan to hand over and it begins
You are not thinking clearly. Boko Haram is a Kanuri phenomena that started under Yar'adua .It is not true that it was because GEJ won election. The kanuri side of it is important for the following reasons. The Kanuri are distinct from Hausas and even their historical rivals. The Kanuris are even less exposed to Western education than Hausas and rarely travel outside their domain. This was a good thing because that is why to a large extent they did not penetrate the south. If it had been a Hausa/Fulani phenomena we would have been saying something else. Clearly the Hausa and Fulani were not in support and were even victims.Attempts were made on the lives of Buhar, the late Emir of kano and the current one. Let us look at the nature of what they did killing their own people burning towns etc How did that harm GEJ. The truth is that because GEJ interpreted it in a personal way as an attack on him he reacted slowly and wrongly. We are talking of people engaged in suicide bombings etc and we say it was because of GEJ. This is a very unfortunate way of thinking though in life I have learnt that an argument no matter how goo, rational or convincing will never sway an emotional conviction.

My position on GEJ is this; We can look at the lost election from the perspective of his performance as many have but to me that is unimportant. There have been others before him and their performance was nothing to write home about though we must be honest to say he has had more money than any president in history he has also borrowed more. The issue is his POLITICAL STRATEGY. How did he strategize for reelection. The answer is that he did not .He foolishly assumed that incumbency alone was enough. This may work if you are from a majority ethnic group but not for a minority whose constituency only have a small fraction of the votes. It was important that he united the entire south behind him if he did that there is no way on God's earth he would lose. The problem was there has always been rivalry between the SE and SW. He created the impression that he was siding with the SE . This was foolish. The Yoruba say if there are no cracks in the wall lizards cannot penetrate. He made a secret deal with Tinubu in 2011 and shortly afterwards we saw photos of Tinubu in the dock. What was the deal with that? To me that would only make sense if he succeeded in jailing Tinubu for a long time and then taking over his infrastructure..That did not happen and so one can only wonder what he was playing at. Again we saw the "arrest" of "Dimeji Bankole" What was the strategy behind that. Even if he had a "file" on the young man he did not use it to his advantage and so all the people in the SW whom he could have built and empowered he chose or others close to him chose to neutralize. It would seem that some people very close to him felt that they needed to curb the influence of the SW including OBJ. The effect of all of this was to make Tinubu and APC even stronger. He failed to read all of this and so one can only assume that his strategy was to rig the elections come what may. Okay, why then did he not do that in the end. I suspect that the man was tired and wanted to rest, psychologically he had had enough. This was all about political inexperience. I have made the point before and I will make it again Why did he keep Dieziani as oil minister. What did she bring to the table. How did she help him politically ?Were there no other politicians from the SS he could have put in that role? She is not known as a politician and so when time for election came what was her value? Yet he ave her the sweetest job in Nigeria. It would only make sense if we can say she was there to clean things up
Finally why did he allow the feud with Amaechi to become what it did.Amaechi comes across as stubborn but also straightforward. HE lacked the interpersonal skills to manage that situation and so started an unnneeded war. With all the money that came into Nigeria under his watch which is UNPRECEDENTED. Why did he not do the 2nd Niger Bridge That is the only performance issue I will raise here because the money was there and it would have been an eternal legacy. I am perplexed

Please be quiet and stop this moronic talk. What is the collective will? You need to be careful about what you say.

Bevista:
If the elections were fair and open in the SS, you would have seen the General muzzle up 15-30% of votes, else why were there wild jubilations in Uyo & PH after GMB was declared winner, in spite of the so called 96% GEJ vote. That is how much we ALL wanted Change - across board.

You guys do not want to test the resolve of the collective will of the Nigerian people. Your brother is in a better position to explain that to you guys. Respect yourselves!

Exactly! I am not praying for any kind of issues but these people running their mouths about the might of nigeria have no clue how important that regions oil is. Even the loud mouth OBJ could not end the problem with the militants and somehow buhari will right? I pray intelligent people help avert disaster.

Flets:
I once posted the comments below and was called names and referred to my post as a threat. Gradually, I shall be ticking off the events as they occur.

How do we avoid the impending dangers to Nigeria’s economy and existence under a Buhari presidency?

We must need to face reality as there is no magic in governance.

Extremely hard times lies ahead for this country if Buhari ever emerges victorious.

How do you explain to a Niger Deltan that despite GEJ's achievements in almost all sectors, roads, bridges, railways, agriculture, automobile, alamajiri schools, new universities, fertilizer and ghost worker scam elimination, freedom of press, FOI, free and fair elections, power sector. .........etc, he is still booted out.

What will stop the creeks from going haywire again? Buhari will send the troops to the creeks and together they will set the oil facilities ablaze.

OBJ's use of JTF force could not help as no Oil producing company will risk producing crude and killing staff in a volatile region.

GEJ under Yaradua had to get down to the creeks to to talk to these boys and effect the amnesty program because they found him as a representation in government.

It will be impossible to convince a ND minority albeit a militant that their own was not persecuted out of office. And that will be the theme of their new struggle.

The long term solution to this mess is implementing the Confab report and enthroning true federalism.

A lot of opportunities are springing up around Africa and the IOCs are already geared towards investing in these newer and saner climes than invest in an unstable Niger delta .

And while these troubles persists, the oil producing companies will simply withdraw their personnel from the volatile region and all foreign investments will seize in all sectors.

Unfortunately, even if the Nigerian troops kill 90% of the militants, it will take just one militant, a dynamite and just one strategic location along the multi- kilometer trunk lines to continue to wreck havoc to the Nigerian economy.

Fast forward to 2019, if we remain one country and without a civil war,, we will be an economic wreck with no allocations and salaries, no capital projects, no hope with dollar exchanging for 400 naira and we are worse off than we were in 2015.

Cos the truth is that without crude proceeds for now, Nigeria is finished. And then, we'll be screaming another 'Change' because we would have learnt a bitter lesson in the hands of the Fulanis, Tinubu and Saraki. And then we will ask.... Why were we this silly?

And before you quote me, make sure you outline in clear terms how you or Buhari will avert this obvious calamity staring us in the face

Only last week, they creek boys seem to have resumed activities by kidnapping at Yoho facility operated by Exxonmobil and have shut in 80KBD already.

Are we ready for this for the next 4 years?

The entire world stands to benefit from a crisis in the Niger delta. Its not a coincidence that USA who abandoned us at the height of bokoharam is busy shouting for change in govt .

Crises in the ND will reduce supply of crude to the Oil market and that would drive up the price of crude for producing countries.... But at Nigeria's expense.

Is Buhari is any way a better Democratic president than GEJ? Is this risk worth it?

Nigerians.... Be Warned!!!

We Ijaw have to act fast so that our oil money will not channel to Agriculture in the North.

Body don dey sweet these people small small.

Something about threats to blow up oil installations in the region that get me laughing: when you blow up a pipeline in your backyard, who's gonna be hardest hit with the environmental pollution that would ensue?? Your mothers and fathers can't fish or farm because the water bodies and farmlands would be devastated. Do the Asaris of this world understand this at all??

Neutralising threats from the ND requires placing more emphases on agriculture. That is the direction of the Buhari administration.

There is an Igbo adage that goes "defeat is not a good enough reason to run away from a fight". Any true son of ndigbo believes this. I wish we wont have to fight, but unfortunately,The Yorubas and Hausas would rather commit suicide than let the Igbo man go his way.
