Dear Fellow yorubas (Jimi Agbaje followers),

Despite attacking and denouncing what Oba of EKO said, Igbo people are still attacking all yorubas. You should know that the hate they are damatrizing on public forums has nothing to do with Oba of EKO. It is as a result of bitterness again Yorubas for voting Buhari. No matter how you appease these animals, they will always hate you.

Hate is in their DNA. When I saw the Oba video, I was shocked. And I critisized the Oba on twitter, despite these. These Igbo animals still came for me and attacked me and my fore-father.

Enough of political correctness. Let support ambode. All these outburst is not about OBA of EKO, its about bigotry in the average mind of those animals.

you guys should continue fighting urselves o.......Agbaje is what? Ambode is what? YORUBA
if you like vote JK or u vote Ambode........it will not change their indegene n neither will it change the fact that if worse comes to worse they will not choose their kinsmen above another tribe. it also shows your intentions and make the state wary of you especially when it comes to other matters in future.
so go ahead and vote either of them but remember in all things diplomacy is key.

Onitsha has neither the status of a current capital of Nigeria - (which Abuja has) or the status of a former capital of Nigeria (which Lagos was for about eighty years - the best part of a Century - as well as being the economic nerve centre and melting pot of the Nation's collective commercial energies).

That is the point sought to be made by my question, and I think you ought to meditate carefully on it.

By the way, just to help you along - I am not Igbo.

Fair point, but you would surely agree that Calabar was never substantive capital of Nigeria for any properly appreciable period of time in order to become the melting pot of the collective commercial and intellectual energies of an entire nation - which Lagos is.

Come to think of it, if the Igbos think Lagos is for all and not Yoruba land, then, one can also deduce that all tribes in Nigeria have equal rights in (and on) Lagos. Why are 'these people' speaking with loud mouths. There are Hausas in their millions in Agege, Mushin, Ketu, etc, etc, but they have most expectedly respected their host - the Yorubas, and kept the peace.

Raph Uwechue's book titled REFLECTION ON NIGERIAN CIVIL WAR is still fresh in my memory.

Every grand conspiracy begins with 'beer parlour' talks.

Can the Sardauna of Sokoto be wrong afterall ?!!! Well, election results will tell.

This last presidential election in lagos,
apc=55%
pdp=45%
almost all the votes , the 45% is from igbo and other south -south states.
now pdp lagos governorship candidate is Yoruba and not jonathan,
he get brothers , friends , town, local government, and him own people, so
even if apc candidate go beat am for the 55% Yoruba votes,
let him take 30%
leaving 25% for the pdp guy from Yoruba relations and friends
add 45% igbo and south - south votes
45% + 25% =70%
70% for pdp
am I seeing some people crying?
do me I do you god no go vase
it is retaliation time
and there is nothing the yorubas can do to change it.

Yet, the wealth from the oil in the Niger Delta feeds and pays salaries of people in Ogun, Ekiti, Oyo, Osun etc etc.... I understand your point and that's the truth, Lagos belongs to the Yorubas, but the oil of the Niger Delta belongs to the Niger Delta too,..so why is it that the entire Nigeria is using the wealth from oil...

My view is that every citizen should be free to own and control any land they find themselves in Nigeria...No one owns no land, Nigeria belongs to us all....if we can push for this, then we kill tribalism and build a true nation.

Ur first paragraph is out of point. Its not in tandem with the issue at hand.

Ur second paragraph makes more sense. Its the Nigeria we all dream of. But until den, respect ur hosts.

As many of us think this Ndi Igbo campaign is affecting Ambode, we unfortunately don't know it is affecting Jimi Agbaje more. This campaign has only aroused the sentiment of the majority Yoruba sons of the soil against the Igbos. The Yorubas now feel more threatened like Agbaje himself is an Igbo who will sell their heritage to the Ndi Igbo. Even my Yoruba friends who never voted in the Presidential election but had PVCs are going all out (Not really for Ambode) but to alt the proposed annexation of their community to Igbos. Unfortunately, the too much noise is not making us see it as such.

I am not disputing this.
I am only attempting to advance to you the idea that on account of its peculiar history as a former capital and its status as the nerve-centre of commercial and intellectual energies from all over Nigeria for over a century - it would be a tad wrong to attempt to make any citizen of Nigeria feel like some second-class citizen within Lagos.

This is especially true for those of us who were born here in Lagos and have lived here in Lagos all our lives and nowhere else - reaching back three to four generations even.

It is sad that in my own country, and notwithstanding the fact that I am a fourth-generation non-Yoruba Lagosian, any person would still attempt to allege that I am not quite Lagosian enough.

A Nigerian can naturalize in the UK or USA and seek elective offices there - and we have even had Mayors and MPs in those places - and this makes it unacceptable that right here in Nigeria, we scream oursevles hoarse about Indigenes and Settlers.

The Oba had to choose sides because of the type of politics Jimi was playing. He had the guts to promise Igbos that their chiefs would get the same recognition as Obas in Lagos . Jimi wants to sell Lagos and no right thinking Yoruba will watch that happen

Lagos does not belong to "Yorubas" it belongs to lagosians.

Stop mixing things up, Lagos of today was built by everyone, both the Igbos, Hausas and Yorubas. And they must have equal rights, infact lagos has been home to a lot of people for decades, it was once the country's capital and was built with federal Government money made from the East, West, North and south, so calling yourself a "host" simply because you speak Yoruba is nonsense...only the true indigenes whose ancestral home is lagos have the right to do so.

If the Igbos are visitors and then you're also a visitor who speaks the same language, the sooner u see Lagos as home to all the smarter u'd sound.

Tomorrow can 1 Hausa man come and chase all the Igbos and Yorubas from Abuja? After using the sweat of all the regions to build it.
