Why not ma dear? I am an example. I and ma huby actually started our lives in a self contain. I gave birth to our first child in a self contain. Life was not rily rosy for us then after our wedding, after one yr huby got a well paid job and we saved to purchase a land. I managed his money for him (since he's a heavy spender) and still does dat till now, after d purchase of land we still continue saving to bulid, and today we are proud owners of a four bedroom flat in Ph. We moved from dat "self contain" to our own house dis yr. In lyf u do not look at where u are, but look at where u will be, only if u remain focused without pursuing unnecessary things and trust in God. Spend wisely and above all, marry who u love & who loves u cos she can stay whereva u are as long as u are there with her also

The point is about availability of funds.

If the guy has money for a duplex n can sustain the rent fine n good but not that the lady must insist on getting a bigger apartmnt at all cost expecially when the children have not started coming in.

life is about planning and yes i agree that a lady who will not mind staying in even a room face me i face you is a potential home maker.

I started from grass and I live very comfortable now, if he can't afford it then I have to pay for a bigger apartment.

Some people just wishing hardship on themselves just to look good on nl... and telling fairy tales up and down. yes, I know people who rose from grass to grace but some didn't too! It's life, that you're poor today doesn't give you license to be rich tomorrow... lets tell ourselves the truth sometimes...

If you go into such with the mindset of "self con today, duplex tomorrow" and the duplex doesn't come you will get frustrated! #fact so before you go ahead to wish yourself hardship, you better tell yourself that it may stay that way forever then if duplex comes, fine.

Lemme not forget to say that women now work(for those still living in 1914). Work and try to get the things you want biko. And if his ego is too huge that he won't let you contribute, he's adviced to use that huge ego and refuse to live in a self con as well.

Well said. Its not everyone who is poor now that will be rich tomorrow. I know a relative who allowed a man to move into a single room in her father's house. This couple have been married for over 30 years and all through their years in marriage uptil this moment they are still living in that single room with grown children. Bottomline is accepting a guy who has clear visions, clear goals and he is on the path to achieving them.
For example a guy living in face me i slap you but he is writing ICAN, investing into professional courses and anything that will make him to achieve his clear set goals. Not some lazy chap wasting his youth with bad friends or in a drinking bar.
