You are correct. She definitely doesn't have a social security number either. So, she will be traveling as a visitor and should carry enough funds to make it through POE. She and her hubby can then decide on how to proceed further because once the immigration papers are filled the residency restrictions kick in.

Gbam!

I still need other opinion cos i don't have anybody in the US to stay with and the USA Birth International offer accomodation, doctor, nanny, transport, visits to the hospital and others in their package which is about 7k +.
I want to know the genuineness of this arrangement and if it is cost effective rather than going to look for accomodation on my own cos i will be 34 weeks by mid august when i want to travel.
Any other suggestions from those that are in the USA or mum's to be. Thank you

Nothing special about their package, it is just the regular MIHS, but for someone like you that needs accomodation, it will save you the stress of searching for accomodation. If I were going to Phoenix, I will use them, instead of worrying about which hotel to use. My opinion sha

Pls what is the price like at precious cedars? Am using Dr. Fagbohun also. I just google precious cedar but something else came up. Please what is their exact website addy and phone number? Thanks

Why don't you use Soulcare instead. The least price is 1000 dollars a month with other complementary services. Cedars is a bit pricey.

Am torn between both cry I think so too. It's less tacky that way. No POE hassles sef, cos she is going through Citizens and Green card holders queue, not visa holders queue with every tom, dick and harry

If you earn what she earns then you too might not be too keen about relocating.

If you plan to finally relocate to the US, please have a very clear and concise plan for yourself and family. Consider the best place (Nigeria vs. USA) where you will like to raise your "black" children. Consider that in the US, many of our Nigerian women become breadwinners...not at the fault of their husbands, but at the fault of a social system that provides very little opportunity for the "black male". Consider that you will need very expensive childcare for your children. Consider that you may have to work odd jobs while you further your education to secure better opportunities. Consider the difficulty in having any left-overs from the hard-earned dollar after the ALMIGHTY bills and taxes have been paid. Most importantly, consider how long you will be separated from your husband if you both continue to live apart. Have your husband considered relocating to Nigeria? I could go on and on, but I will save my story for another day and for another thread.

@aadeg you Just stated my exact fears ..difficult situation that only the person in it can understand. Hubby hates Nigeria with a passion. Going to America means starting from level zero even with all the Nigeria degrees. At the end of the day may God help us .

Is it 5 million a month? She didn't mention financial attachment to Nigeria, she said sentimental attachment. Unlike you, I pay attention when I read, besides there is no place where I advised relocation.

You cannot keep going back and forth on a visitors visa. I am not advising you relocate if you don't want to. I am saying do the right thing.
After having your baby and paying your bill, get hubby to file for your document, it can be processed while you are in US or in Nigeria, depends on you. This will assist you in going to US as you so please without having to 'renew' your visa. There are many nigerians living and working in Nigeria who are also US green card holders and citizens, they travel twice a year to maintain their status.

Hello somchisom, kindly help me with the contact of the new York hospital either phone no or email.
I have also sent you a pm. Kindest.

quote author=somchisom post=32574317]Hello house,
In the spirit of giving back. Here is my birth story.
I gave birth to my baby girl March 17th at United memorial medical center, batavia New York through C.S. Stayed in the hospital 3 days for all. The hospital offers a 60% automatic dscount for self pay. Got my bill for 3947.69 for mother and 1407 for the child, total of 5354. Doctor's fee for ante natal and delivery was 1499.4 (I was scheduled for natural delivery with a mid wife but had to go for c-section last minute, which included a doctor in the package. The fee above also include all the meal I had for 3 days. The service was awesome, everyone including the doctor's were very friendly, nice and professional.
I let them know before I delivered that I was going back to Naija in less than a month after delivery so they could process my birth cert and bills on time.
I filled the birth cert form before I gave birth and gave them baby's name on delivery. They filled for the cert on friday, I called the county's office on Tuesday and I was told it was mailed to me the monday after that friday. I guess they used regular mail cos I didn't get it that week, went to their office the following Monday, paid 10$ for another copy which I usedto apply for her passport. I paid 165$ for the passport and got it sameday. I mailed her passport to the agent for the Naija visa for 342$ (Tanko hardly picked his calls, felt safer using a company's service). They got the passport Tuesday Morning, got the visa same day and mailed it back to me. I got the passport the next day Wednesday. I have gotten my zero balance letter from the hospital. Leaving for Naija today.
Hope this helps someone.

Please one question. The zero balance letter is just a line. Hope this is okay.
Good luck to everyone[/quote]

Thank you for sharing and congratulations. Just looked, and it appears Batavia, NY is almost 6 hours drive from New York City itself. I wonder if there is a straight flight from JFK in NY city to Batavia

Most people here won't use medicaid so why should I allow the argument drag on and derail the thread? Abeg free me!

My dear, you are not alone in this matter, I don't see my self relocating to Europe añy time soon to start life afresh being wholly dependent on hubby. cos with all the degrees I will still have to go back to school if I want any reasonable job. I am ok with kids having same status as hubby but have refused him filling for me for now. When I gave birth to my son over there they kept questioning why I still use visa after 5 yrs of marriage. My last visa application the VO told me they might not approve another visa if I choose not to file for even residence permit. My Nigeria friend lost custody of her three children cos his son called police for her and It took her prison sentence and 2 yrs of serious legal battle to get their custody back. Abeg I no fit shout.

So what's your plan if your visa isn't renewed?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Nasadiva: 11:10pm On May 16, 2015
Schengen visa can be obtained from 26 countries and I can carry my two left legs to any of them and they are aware of that. They just want me to stop disturbing them or they don't understand why I and hubby will always come to regularize kids document and mine is not mentioned.

Don't buy a one way ticket for ur child.Buy a return ticket it is cheaper even though u know u r not using the return leg for the baby into the US. I used UNited airline early 2013 and I was charged less than 30k naira cos I paid with my GTB card..I cannot rem that amount in USD.

Please don't do it. If asked by a consular or Poe officer if you've ever been a public charge or received governmental assistance in the USA, you'll have to admit this truthfully and this may jeopardize your future entry. At your visa interview, you made a representation that you are fully capable to afford the cost of your trip for all members of your family who travelled with you including unborn baby, why go back on your word. And moreover these programs are for residents not visitors. Think about it...the cash value of benefits you'll receive during your short stay is probably no more than $500 in total. Abeg ur God who brought you this far is bigger than that. And just like your user name, our God is too big, too sure, more than some $500 troublemaker assistance...just my humble opinion though.
