stboff the earlier you do the company reg the better because income source will always pose a problem, how do you explain money entering your account and the fact that you are from Nigeria again will raise their eyebrows Pata Pata because they always think Nigerians are fraudulent
Re: Usa Visit Visa by LadyGuinivere: 2:35pm On Jun 02, 2015
Stboff see why transcripts are good.
1. Car importation- No No! I think its cos its a common avenue for smuggling drugs
2. Cuba- the flag raised is so red e don turn to amber flag. Cuba is not a location often visited and is a drug zone. Combine that with your 23m inflow and outflow equals drug lord.
If there is a lesson I learnt, its to keep your bank statement embassy ready at all times.
Finally I agree the visa is preauthorised. Somebody mentioned canada-dont borra! That one hard pass coconut. My advice? Visit countries of low visa reasistance, avoid red flag countries, register your legit business, and run a moderate account. 23m is a huge sum of money for pete's sake!
Cheers!

stboff I think the part that messed the whole thing up was the whole importation thing you mentioned in the form because with your transcript everything went well except that part you can give it another shot if you don't mind , don't be too verbose when filling your form is another thing i've learnt, well i'm still searching for visa and my interview is next week the 10th, i've been refused twice, i've been to the uk,europe and dubai, if you need a vacation bad then go to Seychelles it is really pretty there and it is visa free for Nigerians and also the maldives .

Chloe7..you nailed it...i think what you fill and who you answer goes a long way to point whetheryou will be given visa or not...like you said being too elaborate in filling the form and also answering the questions might just be the denial button...again like stboff also observed i may want to agree with him that this VO's pre- approve your visa via what they have read from your application and wait for you to confirm their judgement...stboff..don't stop trying..first time denial is not permanent denial

Chloe7..i believe this time around you will get your visa...mine is still 6 days after yours 16th..lets pray for a favorable response.Meanwhile,my friends wife who has never traveled to even Ghana before and just got her passport Dec 2014 was given a 2yrs visa ..she applied for vacation with her 2 yrs baby with exclusion of her husband who is a petty trade while she works with a bank(3yrs).So its not mostly about travel history na dem know.

Thanks, but i have never been to Cuba. I only went to Brazil for the world cup. And i enjoyed it. I got lucky too, they showed me on live TV during the NG vs IRAN match, (hehehe)..
That Brazil trip is the only time i have been outside Nigeria. I only travel when/where there is something to enjoy. I am not a fan of tall buildings. Work, friends and family is very good here in Nigeria. But the place sometimes gets boring especially when you live in the small town i live down here in the South.
Why do i get this feeling someone who knows me will read this thread and just know it's me? Can i modify my posts after about a month ?

Their decision making is so random it's hard to even advice someone. Another point is, if you are YOUNG and you don't work to receive monthly salary, it's always difficult.
Am applying for Australia now. I am not gonna lie about anything. I won't dash the funds in my account to beggars cos i want a Visa. If them gimme good for both of us, if them refuse, bad for both of us. The only pain in the USA thing is it took too long for the apointment date. Two whole months.
I will be applying to different countries concurrently. Yea, that Seychelles looks a good option, but i know it will only make sense if you travel with a good companion. So ammon look for me a Gooooooood companion to Seychelles.(Checked some of their places of interests online and it looks too romantic for a single's trip).
Still at the airport Abuja to fly back south. When i get home, i may forget this thread. Chloe i wish you the best of luck. You have been helpful to a lot of people here.

Thanks.

Thanks Chloe, wish i can remember most of the conversation. Perhaps it may help other people, but truth is people who really didn't answer well got their VISA. I have this believe they pre-approve people before the interview itself.

VO: Greetings...
ME: Responded. then showed her my passport as per her request.
VO: What are you going to the USA for ?
ME: For Vacation.
VO: Where in the USA are you going?
ME: Miami, Florida.
VO: Why Miami?
ME: I'd be staying in Miami Beach. I love the setting.
VO: Have you travelled outside Nigeria before ?
ME: Yes, Brazil. for the worldcup.
VO: What Cities in Brazil did you visit ? (Now i was like, of what relevance is this? just open the damn passport.. lol)
ME: Sao Paulo, Rio De Jeniro, Cuiba, Curitiba, Brasilia.
VO: What do you do ?
ME: I am an Engineer.
VO: What Engineer ?
ME: Petroleum Engineer, but i am into Real Estate. I design, build and resell.
VO: How much do you earn in a month,
ME: I can't tell per month, but i can give you an annual average.
VO: Okay, go on.
ME: About 20 - 25 Mil.
VO: Can i see your bank account statement ?
ME: (At this time i was happy i've killed it cos my banking activities plus balance(23mil) confirms my story).
VO: Are you married ?
ME: No, but i've got a son.
VO: Unfortunately, we are sorry blah blah blah, blah blah blah.
ME: Oya, gimme my passport make i go first find food chop first. I didn't eat b4 going to d interview and 8:30 turned 10:30.

Ofcourse i didn't say the last line.......

If i decide to go back to Brazil(Sin city) i don't think i will come back the same. The kind of THINGS they have there is just tooooooooooo hmmmmmmm......
I've got friends and family scattered around Europe. Can i get an invitation ? if i put myself as the sponsor, will income source pose another problem? thing is i have documents showing my business transactions including buying and selling of properties.
The only thing is i don't yet have a registered company. But this is naija na, who registers a company to have a property link, look for buyers and get a commission? Well, i wasn't anticipating the short burst of success tho.

Thanks Chloe, what's your own story. Got a VISA yourself or searching for? This thread is 222 pages. Perhaps you would have mentioned your story previously, i just haven't read.

Thanks all.

Sorry to read about your refusal. Note that receiving a U.S. Visa is a very straight forward situation and also never try to impress a CO even if you have a billion naira in your account it can be irritating and lead to refusal something you did judging from your interview transcript.

Also, I discovered that you never gave a cogent reason for your visit to the States. That response to the CO was very vague to say the least.

Your past trip to Brazil is enough reason to get a visa for a similar visit to Miami which you blew skywards.

And your response to your Job function was contradictory (a good enough reason to refuse your application)

You have a son, not yet married, and no evidence to show any commitment to your supposed family is another good reason to refuse your application. In future, take your little child for any planned trip abroad.

Finally, get your acts together and build a reasonable tie to Nigeria. Go get married and do not attempt to remove that part where you stated importation of cars. The CO has already noted that flag in your profile. In future, be silent about this during interview.

Enjoy your day.

Thanks bro.
But really for anyone genuinely travelling for tourism purpose The USA shouldn't be allowed to play God in everything.
Thing is i didn't really like the way people were standing just to get a visa and the conversations were not private. That's not cool.
Like i said before, the USA can eat dust. There are other countries i can go and have fun and i won't even miss the US. I know majority of peeps in here just wanna go the d US for greener pasture. For me am going to the US to add my little kobos to their economy. (Pure tourism). so na both of us loose.
In about a week or two time i will post pictures of myself in a holiday place. I must enjoy myself irrespective of what d yankees feel.
To all those that will be approved, congrats in advance. For all those that will be wrongly rejected. Just locate another place n go have ur fun. Come back home and hustle on. Them no reach.
Goodnight ya'all.

Yes, he did not mention this and the CO choose not to ask him since he/she already knew he would be refused.

The CO has noted this situation on his file already making it easy for a different CO to be aware of in his future application. He either comes clean in future and accept this as a mistake or face the uncertain consequence if he removes this entry.

In 2013 December my wife and I applied for a USA visit visa but we were denied. After we got the letter of refusal, we quickly headed to the Visa Center in Lekki and applied for a UK visa. We got the UK visa and spent 10 days of holiday in the UK early 2014.

In late 2014 my wife and I relocated to the UK so I can pursue my doctoral studies. I decided this time to apply alone. A friend of mine sent me an invitation letter and so I applied and booked at appointment for the embassy in London on June 2, 2015. I saw a number of Nigerians with the green passports as well. One Nigerian girl who was ahead of me had just completed her studies here in the UK and wanted to travel to the U.S. Before her graduation. She was denied visa. It was now my turn. Before then, I noticed that you could go into the embassy in London with your phones and again, the windows were the VOs interviewing applicants were was separate from the main waiting area unlike in Nigeria.

This is the transcript of my interview:

vO: Why are you going to the U.S. At this time?

Me: to visit a friend.

VO: So you are going to Florida?

Me: Yes

VO: what are you doing in the UK?

Me: I am a PhD student

VO: which course?

Me: Law

VO: when are you completing the course?

Me: 2018

VO: is this your first time?

Me: no I applied with my wife in 2013 but we were refused visas.

VO: is your wife in the UK

Me: yes

vO: why is she not travelling?

Me: she is working

VO: who is paying your fees ? your government?

Me: no my elder brother

vO: What does he do?

Me: He is a university professor.

VO: Your visa is approved . You will get your passport in a week's time.

Lol. From my interpretation, he was speaking as what the VO would assume. The truth is :If the attitude the young man has on this thread was what he exhibited at the embassy, nwanne me go deny am. The comments have been peurile and lacking in maturity. As TzeTzefly said (and I also said that earlier) Brazil is good travel history. But when u tell people to read the thread they assume u are being unhelpful. A cursory look at the thread would have guided the young man not to fill car importation.
@Visapayless nna mehn have you forgotten this is Naija? Where medical Doc de do construction work? Times are hard o! cheesy

His below 30, no monthly salary, tried to disgust the vo with his no N24m and signs of desperation. no social and economic tie.

That's some serious thing to say about someone you know nothing about.
Yes, it is true i may have raised their red flag but my intent was 100% true and i had no plans of remaining there.,

You speak of "desperation" ? my friend this is supposed to be a US "VISIT" VISA thread. Why take things so serious when you are just visiting for tourism or other NOT really important stuff ?. You are the one who is DESPERATE cos you write like everyone's life is dependent on this stuff.
My comments after my denial actually is meant to make other people relax and seek alternatives incase they are denied. A whole lot of people get denied. Some persons become depressed. Some might read my comments and be like, "yeah! let them eat dust" and carry on.
For the records, i wasn't at all rude in anyway to the VO. I was smiling and talking to her, i only answered questions she asked me and i didn't even bother explaining other things. I was just being obedient.
I went with contracts, supply receipts, purchase agreements and other documents related to my work. Including C of O of one of my personal property. I just did not want to interrupt her that's why i didn't divert to start explaining my documents and all those stuff.
The way she spoke, she was sounding like someone who's gonna approve until she asked the "Are you married question". Then she said unfortunately and the rest blah blah blah...

Is it my fault that i am not up to 30? Most of the things typed in my transcript were just for fun here on NL especially the things in bracket.
YES as at yesterday after the denial, while waiting at the airport, i was pained. I have never lost anything in my life trust me. When i meet people with proposals i get the deal sealed. For the first time i lost and that gave me a momentary depression.

Your comments are more like a personal attack. So dude, don't mention me if you've got anything to say. If you have a VISA already, i wish you the best of luck in the states and if you are yet to get yours, Just know you will get it considering your knowledge and POLITENESS. Just go there, shine all your 32 and laugh even when nothing is amusing.
