Madam, you should not have cc'd me.

U asked an off-topic question on a public forum. Emphasis on public forum, so I am not sure what you mean by question is not meant for people like me.

So, I decided whether I want to respond to you or not. Unfortunately for you I did.

Should I go on? Na, I'll stop here.

If you wanna take it forward, let's go.

@algfred, if u can get a mail from mercy with their self paying quote that Shud do... The hospital bill for 2 days stay for Vagina delivery is 6k minus prenatal tests, sonogram and delivery. Bearing this in mind, you might want to get cash in excess of 6k. U don't need a quote for anethesia till u get here but if u using mercy, the one they recommend charges 1k for VD and 1200 for CS.

Try and speak to the hospital, tell them to direct you to the family care cente or the person in charge of self Pay.. book an appointment and get her to send u an email summarising ur conversation. She would attach the self pay Bill and ur appointment confirmation.

All the Best.

algfred:
@Olokings. Thanks for your response and advise. I will go ahead and implement action 1. For action 2 to 3. I have started with calls and for Mercy Hospital charges by emaim. I was also advised to contact the aneast. Dept. Seperatly for cost. So i go just do so and also find a doc. With cotact mail. some wey i call and write say dem no dey give cost estimate for delivery unless you walk in to them hospital. So i go try harder and do as you talk. But if i can get info dor NY hospitals wey peic good abeg inbox me for algfred@yahoo.com;
For item4. We get fund small by the grace of God, most are in Naira account i just want to know minimum usd wey i go change make madam use fly incase dem want to see how much she is carrying with the master cards with her. I fit access and source 4k for now shey make man increase am to 6k cash? Just asking.

Thanks +Regards

Hello good people

This is somewhat OT. Has anyone travelled with dried ogi baba or dried ogi?

Was it allowed in?

How did you dry it? Or which is the best way to dry it - AC, sun or oven?

I traveled with ogi but didn't sun or oven dry it. It was allowed in but my baggage wasnt searched & i even smuggled in my 1k half finished kilishi...

The water was drained with white cloth, my mum placed a tray & grinding stone directly on it, so there was no water in it, then put it in the freezer... i appreciate the effort my mum made cos this is what my SIL got(200g of watery ogi for 600n+)in order to show i didn't need to "stress" myself..

Thanks. I've tried that and even checked list of items allowed in the US already. Most of the feedback was that they weren't searched.

I'm just being careful and just want to be prepared on its legality - that's all my son accepts, so being able to go in with it is very critical for me.

Also, I'm not going to the airport today, so I can wait.

At all o... My colleague mentioned it to me and actually swears by it. She said it doesn't induce labour, more like it helps it along.

Ok, since you've got first hand info on it you can give it a try. I know castor oil induces labour.
But wait till like 39w to try so U know baby is full term just in case.
Waiting for ya testimony grin

Castor oil works I've used it twice. For my first at 40wks + 3 days and second at 39 weeks. Ensure you are at least 39 weeks before you use it. My babies are normal didn't have any effect on them but do your research. What is good for the goose might not be good for the gander...

Please note that its the castor oil that is used as a laxative not the one used for hair o. You can get it in Walgreens if you are in the US. It will make your tummy run and in the process induce labour. All the best.
