OLOKINGS

What if his budget (to b presented to the VO) can't cover the birth trip plus vacation

Plus if she's visibly preggy, the VO WILL BE LIKE who are u fooling, u wan go born, u wan go born.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by FinanceFitness: 2:21pm On Aug 05, 2015
@firsttymum- interestingly, I did 2 interviews at American embassy before drop box and each time they referred to my UK visa - first time VO said hmm, I see you have 2yrs UK visa, that's cool. Second time, I see you have a valid 5yrs visa.

And guess what, when I was entering US this last time, the CBP officer asked me why I was refused the very first time I applied for a UK visa, which was many many years ago - thats after having many issued visas subsequently.

My view is that they know the documentation requirements for the British embassy is huge, they are not huge on documentation, so having the former helps corroborate their decisions.

But at the end of it all, prayer works and of God says yes, no number of rejection stamp will change it.

firsttymum:

As dem no gree answer u na, u gats do copy and paste grin
Let me attempt to answer you ( I stand corrected )
Concentrate on ur US visa, (if u like have all the visas whether expired or not, if they wanna deny, dey will)
Gather your burden of proof ( I assume u know what that is)
Read the thread from part 1 to this page grin
If u read through the thread you'll see "testimonies" or preggy mums who went for visa interview with virgin passports, they've never travelled outside lagos sef (just kidding).
So get ur pen and jotter and start reading( if u hate to write Oya open msword connect ur printer and start copying pasting and printing)

While you may be very right.
I think they can work their way around it with a gud back story as to why they wanna go to the states em all.

When I and my family went for interview, we just recently (like 2 months old) got the big rejection stamp from France embassy.
What we did was top build travel history by taking a 4 day vacation to dubai with layover in Ethiopia (yeah! Dt adds to travel history lol)..
As such we weren't asked why the rejection. ..just if we have b4 n I said yes. ..

Tnxie much

FinanceFitness:
Hmm... That UK rejection stamp is going to be a flag. They will likely ask you for why you were rejected and quoting insufficient funds doesn't help your medical tourism application.

I will strongly recommend you reapply for a UK visa first before you proceed to US.

British embassy is more lenient to first timers and would generally issue you a visa with proper documentation.

I have always used tourist visa and would usually just book hotels to avoid all these letter of invitation drama.

But honestly, has your circumstance really changed? I.e you now earn or have more money?

Wow for shizzle?
Na wa o... And UK visa is a "real time" process not like US WHERE U GET YOUR PASSPORT IN 2days.
After the UK the time needed before she reserves appointment for the U.S. Visa is my concern.
Like you asked "HAS HER CIRCUMSTANCES REALLY CHANGED" second refusal will be bad o

Very smart move... Now that's where finances come into play... She might just b lucky and they might not ask her why she was rejected

Agreed, building travel history helps wipe out impact of rejection stamp. My friend did that but built travel history over 2 - 3yrs.

I was talking here specifically about UK visa though, the VOs never referred to my schengen visas in all my applications - even when I mention them as part of my vacation itinerary - no other country gets mentioned except UK.

I really do wish her the best and God'd favour on this one - whatever honest approach she chooses.

When I applied for US visa it was on a fresh passport (change of name)
They detached my other passport that has my travel history before I got to the VO.
And No question about if I had travelled before came up

I need advice please for my future visa interview. When I went for my Visa interview i stated that I was going to MIHS hospital in Arizona but I came to Maryland instead. Before I had my baby, my husband wanted to join me to witness my baby's delivery so we applied for the interview and told the truth that I'm in Maryland. He was rejected based on 2 reasons.
1. I changed my location
2. I didn't give him a copy of my visa page and entry page

He went again in July fully prepared and was rejected again. Now I am scared that I may be rejected if I want to reapply and he might get rejected as well. Please I need advice on this our issue so we can be prepared when the time comes.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by FinanceFitness: 3:20pm On Aug 05, 2015
I find it strange that he was rejected based on those 2 reasons. My view is that you can always change your mind about your final destination in the US.

Are you sure your husband doesn't have other history with them?

I really doubt it will affect your renewal since you were honest about the purpose of your visit and should have all your receipts and zero balance.

What I'm contemplating now is whether or not you should go for renewal as a family or you just do Dropbox alone.

All the best.

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by anonymousmum: 3:36pm On Aug 05, 2015
Hmm these stories about husband being denied, if we are better prepared we can avoid stories that touch...

When my husband was applying, I was already in the US. I packaged these documents for him before i left (you know men, if you leave them do do these things it will never happen smh)

My Biodata page - they asked him for this
My US Visa Page
Photo copy of my UK, Schengen visa plus all the visa's I have ever had sef lol
Receipts of payments (his interview was 4 days after I got to the US so I had made all payments sharp sharp and sent the receipts to him, they asked him for this)
Letter of Change of Intent that I had received from Lagos and Abuja (they actually asked for this and apparently was the deciding factor in granting him the visa)
Evidence of accommodation booking
Marriage certificate
Evidence of past holidays together with photographs lol
My letter from the office stating I was qualified for leave

Plus his own normal documents that he would take - bank statements, letter of employment payslips etc.

Mind you he had been denied about 10 years ago, but had since gone to UK, Dubai, etc

Now I can compete with Phema with burden of proof award hehe

I won't advice that.
Ever heard of "visa shopping"?! Embassies frown at those. ... hmmmm...#thinking. .
I'd say liquidate the fixed deposit into account and if asked you will day you have been planning this vocation and childbirth trip a while now (make sure you back up this statement by dotting ur Is n crossing ur Ts).
Apply str8 to us embassy and do it quickly.
Going to late at your term negates your claim of planning ahead on time.

Do what you have to do and do it quick. .

I agree with Olokings, you don't have a lot of time.

Just go there directly in faith and ask for favour.

On the fixed deposit, I will recommend you don't terminate into any current account. Just get the deposit details and make sure the maturity date is way before your travel date.

Just show them if asked that it is part of funds you intend to use.

Please pray for favour and be confident.

Sometimes, there are no rules to this.

All the best.
