VOs don't like having to string you along for every single question. You know they are going to ask how many immediately afterwards.

Just be honest and natural. It personally makes no difference to me if someone says they have triplets.

Is it Advisable to apply before the wedding or after because i will like to travel immediately after the wedding as my company will only give me 2 weeks leave from work.

And again i just return back to work from training in India this April. i need your advice because i already filled a DS-160 form but not submitted and again will be going to pay for the Visa fee at the GTBank this week.

Gurus, kindly advice on the best way to approach this. what are the Document you think i need to prepare apart from.

1. visa fee print out
2. ds-160 print out
3. passports
4. letter of employment
5. leave approval letter
6. court affidavit ( letter of consent from both parent)
7. bank statement.
8. pay slip
9. our introduction pictures because am choosing COMMON LAW MARRIAGE
10.hotel reservation print out for the duration of 10days

It is always advisable to apply for a visa ahead of your travel dates. It gives you ample time to prepare.

You need to make a convincing claim as to why a visa should be issued to you. The process has litttle to do with documents presented.

The document(s) only helps to sway in your favour if there is a need to be extra certain about your claims.

The problem is that the booking site has only one colum for Guest name, when making a reservation (both of them intend to stay together in a double room), and I dont know if both of them can use that reservation which bears the husbands name when applying for their visas or the both have to make different reservations.

How is that a problem na? Can't a man make a reservation and his wife stays in the double room with him?
Or can't u put surname in the column for that and both names in the name column eg

what went wrong? she did not even look at our bank statements, marriage certificate or company documents, can we apply again?

We have been to turkey for a 1 week vacation after that.

Well to me I believe that US visa is luck and sometimes travel history, try to visit Europe and not all this Arab, Asian countries and again travelling as a family ( kids include) is another advantage. If you have the fee please apply again asap. Family vacation would have been better with kids. Listen the first day I went to Abuja for the interview I made a mistake in filling my family, tot one form covers me and my wife and I was denied that day and immediately I reapply and got my visa approved, now am in US with my family but thanks to Lady G wey no gree make agent chop me. God go bless that woman. Note: I have been living in Asia for long but I came back for the purpose of this Visa and after the denied me I reapply and travelled to Paris for 3 days with my family. SAY NO TO AGENT. Chicago fine well well, Willis Towers, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, Been to Boston, NY, Chicago, Florida, NJ and DC, America fine oooo but coming back soon as my vacation remain 2 days to finish. Lady G I still owe u but God bless u

Those Vo's no need ur documents cos dem no say nothing good comes out of Nija paper documents, sorry for the denial but make u reapply and fill the same thing wey u fill for ur previous form, no change anything except your travel history, add turkey to countries visited and try visit Europe together with your wife. Kids go come na God dey give pikin. Dubai dey common now, so try visit Europe then reapply. Everything na luck, boldness and honesty. Good luck next time

we will get a schengen visa, visit 2 or 3 countries in the schengen region and try again but this time, i will go alone first, what do you think?

I have been to UK and i stayed upto 1yr with a migrant visa (temporary work visa) and renew my nigeria passport while in UK (Authority issued :London). I was denied after i got back to home country (Naija) and tried to put in a visa application to UK again..(cos of deny: No home tie) but now i would like to travel to USA on tourist visa. I work with the state government, married with a darling daughter....Hope the Uk denied stamp wont affect my chance of getting visa. Pls advice.

We were granted visa today. I got a lot of tips from Nairaland so please read the thread well!! From what I saw its good to fill out your form truthfully and properly. if there's space for to explain anything- explain in short concise answers. I was denied a visa in 2005 and I haven't been there (embassy) since. I had a green card that expired and all my siblings are citizens and my mom has a green card. so I was really scared that I wont get it.

what i noticed is that they really gave people travelling as a family and clergymen. They also bounced a lot of single people male and female alike. the ones i saw bounced did not explain themselves really well or they couldn't explain themselves when they were asked a question. So that's that. no agent was used. cheers

Men truth be told I was just looking at the people coming out and the white paper they were holding. if it had something printed at the back i know you've been granted visa if not na bounce be that. That embassy thing no be small thing sha.
