When GEJ was carrying a large entourage to the UN to attend all seminars and Conferences that concerns Nigerians, APC Fans were busy mocking him and calling him wasteful and clueless but at the end the UN happily worked with Nigeria because we were a responsible member of the international community. Now due to APC propaganda, they praised Buhari for cutting down on the waste of sending a large delegate to the UN. They derided Jonathan and worshiped Buhari as our saviour for pruning down the number of people going to UN for conferences but now the chicken has come home to roost.

Due to Nigeria's small amount of UN delegates, they could not attend all the meetings planned for them and they had to prioritize until they missed the most important one that was peculiar to Nigeria and Internally displaced people. Its not everyday that the UN releases a statement that its Disappointed in a country especially since it spent its resources to organize a conference to benefit a country that has been crying out for help to deal with the Boko Haram menace.

Do you think the UN would worry about Nigeria next time it cry's out for help or bother itself to organize a conference to benefit Nigeria when it knows it won't attend? What is even more worrisome is APC's pride not accepting it has goofed and apologizing to everybody for this embarrassing International gaff but as usual APC uses Propaganda to solve its problems to deny and twist the story to favour them which has bounced back on its face. If it was the Jonathan Government that did this, APC fans would have called him clueless. What should PDP fans call this International embarrassment by PMB?

P:S Why is it anytime PMB travels abroad, his gaff or Omissions take centre stage instead of the substantive reason he traveled out? Either he is pissing off the Germans by calling them West Germans with President Mitchell or going to the US to mock the SS/SE and calling them the 5% or going to France to abuse his future ministers as "Noise Makers" and now embarrassing Nigeria by not attending a UN summit personally organized to benefit us and this is just 4 months into Buhari's Presidency. God save Nigeria Internationally in the next 3 and a half years. No matter what you say about PDP, it has always achieved an excellent result when it comes to Foreign Policy from Obj down to Gej and its best advised for APC/PMB to take lessons from PDP on how to comport its self internationally.

Buhari has once again shown us how incompetent he is. What's the essence of presenting about HIV and going Mia on an important security meeting that involves Boko haram.

What a shame!

The APC Government thought the PDP mafias has some link in that meeting so its better they boycott it and they just got news of 70 trillion naira loot by Last administration of Jonathan so they have to hurry home and tell Nigerians.

I don't understand this people and their crass need for showmanship though.

They were supposed to be at an event which as far as I'm concerned should be the major reason Buhari went to New York, yet they downplay it only to keep inundating us with pictures of Buhari's meeting with the king of Spain, Gordon Brown and the epitome of National Catastrophe himself, Chief Mr OBJ.

I wish all Nigerians a jolly one chance ride.

I'm not too sure if Joy Ogwu's tenure is near completion but with this blunder, trust PMB to throw her out asap.

Again, the Presidency should have investigated the matter before issuing a statement. Imagine the thought that PMB lied!!! What a shame!

This is indeed a minus for the APC-led government.

Pls dear, Joy Ogwu can't be blamed, keep your eyes peeled and stop this blame-game APC are always involved in.

From his excuse and i quote

The meeting at which Nigeria was reportedly absent was not one the official events of the United Nations for which President Muhammadu Buhari and his modest delegation are in New York.

Obviously, he knew of the meeting and I can't see why Joy wouldn't inform him since it was a ''high level'' meeting, but he deemed it unofficial.

Again this points to the failure and ineptitude of the government... And whats with the HIV talks in the midst of bokoharam 3000+ kills since he resumed office, and our ever failing economy? Whatever happened to asking for more co-operation from international communities in rooting out our stolen funds?

Again Apc has been busted and the earlier u realized the change sh*t was scam, the better for you

How can a meeting convened in the UN by diplomats be considered unofficial?

That aside, I expect the Nigerian govt to give credibility and weight to any diplomatic "unofficial" meeting regarding the plight of IDPs serious attention.

This just goes to show that Buhari and his 21 man entourage just went on a tourist instagram photo spree

This Govt is totally out of touch with reality on how to run a nation in the 21st century!

Honestly I beg everybody pardon what is really annoying me is what a hell does Buhari need 21 people for in UN summit for God sake I'm so upset by all these money wasting tourist jamboree. These just make me hare apc as a party the more.

What a lunatic kind of govt is this How can buhari said boko haram and IDP issue not official he need to shed more light to this development or is their any country trying to undermine Nigeria and go ahead to discuss boko haram or IDP without Nigeria knowledge We need to know.

The diplomat believes President Buhari should request Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Joy Ogwu, to explain why her office failed to identify the meeting as one of the key ones Nigeria should have attended at the ongoing summit.
I'm not too sure if Joy Ogwu's tenure is near completion but with this blunder, trust PMB to throw her out asap.

Protocols are protocols, u don't break them anyhow. If this wasn't on the schedule, you wouldn't blame The Nigerian Government for not attending. This reminds me of one of the events that led to quarrel between Mrs. Jonathan and Fmr. Rivers State Governor.

Why do people like to twiste issue in other to hide the truth, the question you should ask are was mr president dully informed if yes then why did he see it as unofficial.

"It was convened by Stephen O’Brien, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General of Humanitarian Affairs and held as part of the of the UN Sustainable Development Summit, which opened Friday"

The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, OCHA, is not the UN General Assembly nor the secretariat. OCHA may be using the meeting to boost it's profile. The meeting in question was called to discuss funding for displaced persons; not to tackle Boko Haram. Nobody attends all fundraising events he's invited. Should it be OCHA that will lead in discussing resettlement of IDP. It's all about international politics and Nigeria has the right to evaluate it's participation.

Propaganda government.

They don't even report the incessant bombings that has been worse of in the last two weeks, so as to portray this government as a working and efficient government.

But guess what? As they hide all this bombings happening everyday in the north, the question is: who does it affect? It is still the same northerners that are being bombed and killed everyday and they think they are doing them good hiding the everyday killings.

Anyway, wetin concern me, if they like the report the Boko harm bombings, if they like, let them don't report, I just hope we don't wake up one morning in this country and here that Borno state as a whole is no more existent. I guess the Media is doing Borno state and North in general good by not reporting recent Boko Haram bombings.

Besides, please where is Oby-Ezekwesili? Anyone knows about where is this woman is now?
You kept repeating the same thing over and over again. If they are not or no more reporting the bombing incidents happening in Borno and the rest, you can go and be reporting it. Simple.

If the presidency is aware of this meeting and stayed away then they fully culpable of any accusation from any quarters. Prof (Mrs) Joy Uche Angela Ogwu, the Nigeria's perm rep to the United Nations should carry more of this blame. It was her call to make sure her president attend this all important meeting.
