Justwise, please temper justice with mercy and listen to the plea of the wailers. Sharing can be at our own discretion.

Me I sha know I will not share or respond to suspicious PMs. Infact, you must show me your preggie test result, ultrasound picture and picture with baby bump in front of POE before I will offer to help any acclaimed mama. (Shoutout to Neks31 and firttymum for the inspiration).

After ascertaining your genuine-ness, you will also fill out a non disclosure agreement notarized by a notary public in US before I reveal.

Kikikikiki, e don bad like that o!

Half of the pages on this part is full of argument as against the purpose of the thread. The thread is becoming useless. As a member of nairaland, you can start your own thread and name it "The real cost and procedures of giving birth in US" since the moderator has decided to remove the cost aspect of it. If people haven't done their research and posted them here in the first place, I don't know how you would have even gotten these advertisement you are protecting so much without considering the end users. In as much as I understand that the business aspect is very important, you also have to consider those that make the thread what it is. Nothing stops you from listening to people's opinion and aligning with them to make the thread useful to both the advertising company and the end user. Anyways, that's my one kobo. We all are not perfect, but please sometimes, be nice with your replies . They come across as being rude.
Shalom

I couldn't be nicer.

Hmmm.... So many pages of argument.... The current position is not beneficial to mums and will not be beneficial to nairaland family in the long run.

On agents and all, free riders are always there in our everyday lives, we cannot do without them - e.g, I pay huge taxes to government, most don't pay but enjoy the same road and amenities the government provide.

Whatever Justwise and co decide - I guess we don't have a choice? It is their forum.

But they should just remember that if there is no more info on this thread, it will eventually die a natural death.

@Justwise, I think things will naturally evolve to the next level if you allow this thread to die - it may be a natural consequence that may take a long time, but it may happen.

You are wrong.

Is he complaining?? this is cold world ma fren and we can't let the bad people a.k.a (agents from hell) spoil our show!! Anyways good luck with your decision and I believe that this thread will not die at all at all not until we've all achieved all we want IJN!
S/N all ye Agents from hell tryna cause confusion for us here ehh don't let us pray for una cos when one or two preggy mamas release prayers on top una head hmmmm!! Bye guys as I enter Kermit mode!

@Justwise.

I have been following this thread for more than two years which is the most successful I have ever come across on Nairaland. With the recent imbroglio; public opinion has shown that majority of its members support for Costs, Doctors and Hospitals to be posted freely which doesn’t necessarily mean they are here to indirectly advertise for hospitals. This support has remained above 97% consistently in opinion polls since this outcry.

Conflict isn't necessarily a bad thing. If it's open and direct, it helps in dealing with issues and building consensus. As a leader, you should be able to mediate conflict and reach consensus among members of this forum.

Justwise, please focus on the real issues of this thread which is cost and procedures which falls under, Doctors, Hospitals and Costs. When the Mods and Admins disagree with members of this forum and the purpose of this thread is defeated, they burn bridges they may never be able to repair. Do not let other bloggers take advantage of this decision which could drastically reduce your members.

Conflict is a normal part of any healthy organization. After all, we all can’t be expected to agree on everything all the time. Learning how to deal with conflict rather than avoiding it is very crucial in leadership and management.

I'll suggest for the Admins to restrategize because we all understand that the purpose of this outcry is to protect the interest of your clients without breaching contracts and Nairaland's interest is also to maximize profit regardless of members opinion. It is a very complicated situation which should be intelligently managed.

But remember without Nairalanders, Nairaland will go into extinction and out of business while those Hospitals which interest you are protecting will remain in business.

People benefit from nairaland while nairaland benefit from your visit and contributions, it's not one way thing.

It cost 47k a week to place an ad in politics section even without any thread such as this. Don't always think that if you stop posting here that this section or nairaland will be gone.

I'm reading and trying to come up with fair decision but will not drawn be into this issue of: without us there is no nairaland

Ha Oga Justwise honestly some of your replies were not nice but it doesn't matter because dem no dey gum insult for person head.
My 2 cents: I bless God the day I discovered this forum because I realised I have a choice and i can relax till 32 weeks before travelling.my first missionary journey was in 2011/2012 paid 12k for hospital bills only (VD)in Ohio.My host recommended the Obgyn and hospital then but I could afford it then because I waited on the Lord for 10years but now calculator is needed. With the information from Part 1, there is no way I would have been to do all the research myself and most of them that I have contacted have reviewed their prices sef including Docesparati but compared to my former journey am still thankful.
As a NL newbie,am in support of open sharing of information including costs and procedures biko.
Anyone that knows Justwise Oriki should kindly post it as well so that the iresi no go follow the chaff/stones o cry

I have known this from the first day I joined this forum that some of my views sometimes get people at the wrong end and I have made very few friends because of it, so please use the scroll bar next time you see my post because I,m not in a hurry to change so as to please anybody.

Ok I have gone through all the posts here and it boils down to the sort of info to share.
Somebody talked about Dr's review but I don't know how that will workout because two people may use the same Dr but come out with two different experiences. In such case it will be difficult to review that Dr.

Yes people will benefit from sharing hospital cost and names but I have issue with people sharing price quotes they recieved privately from a hospital/ Dr then ask people to PM them for that Dr's contact details.

I also have problem with people who recommend Dr and hospital they never used purely because they will get discounts for introducing more clients.

Like I said before the issue is not about sharing info as some keep saying but how much info is the issue here.

Anybody with suggestions how to strike a balance here?

Don't get that part. How do you get discount for a hospital you've not used or don't intend using?

Some are already pros at hoarding information anyway so it's not a problem for them.
You've always struck a balance (as best as you could) why fix what isn't broken?

@maymaj honestly you come across as an agent... your story isn't straight. Apologies if you're not.
