thank you plenty got your reply.

However I've done almost if not all of the above yet the problem persists as I've uninstalled my WhatsApp and downloaded another one from WhatsApp . com and still it keeps writing "connecting" just at that point I typed in my Nigeria phone number.

Please how can I update my android OS as it's the remaining step. Thank you. I use galaxy S4
That's unnecessary.
Just check your APN settings.
What network are you using?
You can try connecting via WiFi.
If it works then it's definitely from your APN settings.

APN means Access Point Name.
It's the setup that lets you connect to your ISP (Internet service provider) and therefore surf the internet.
Setting>More Networks-> Mobile Networks.
Then select APN.

Ah.
You're using SAS.
So your proxy is set to localhost.
WhatsApp uses a different protocol and SAS only supports the HTTP protocol used by the native web browser.
To get around this you need to convert all WhatsApp packets to HTTP.
To do that you'll need an app like Proxy Droid.
Download and install proxy droid, create a new profile.
Host: 127.0.0.1
Port: 8080
Proxy type: http.
Then it'll "convert" all WhatsApp packets to HTTP and then you can use WhatsApp with SAS.
Note that your device must be rooted before you can use Proxy droid.
If your device is not rooted then use a VPN.
Cheers.

PS If you want to browse the net with your normal data plan (not SAS) then you need to change the proxy of your MTN from 127.0.0.1 to 10.199.212.2 (for MTN)

Sure you're typing the right password?
Check your shift key. maybe some parts are in capital letters, and you're typing small letters.

You can side load applications on android.
Are you on the stock ROM or a custom ROM?
Is your phone rooted?

you are too much and I am most grateful. Then, you see the problem isn't solved yet. my phone is not rooted and you stated clearly that it must be.

I don't wish to root my phone however, so how can I use this VPN?

forgive my many questions, but if my WhatsApp has been working until yesterday what then caused the failure.

sorry for the bother.

The VPN app is Psiphon and the settings can be found here

When you first subscribed you were given data, that's the data you were using till it finished.

Stock means it's running the firmware that was there when the phone was bought.
Custom means it's running another firmware not from HTC made by a developer(Android is open source so anyone can make a ROM)
Because custom ROMs are made by developers, not OEMs (companies) they're not allowed to ship with Google Services like Play store. So custom ROMs do jot have play store, that's why I asked in the first place.

If the phone is up, go to Settings> About and tell me what's there, so I can see if it's custom or stock. Or just take a screenshot and upload it.

you're a genius, bless you for your effort and assistance. The settings to the siphon you suggested does not connect when I clicked on it, don't even know if I have this siphon and checked it out at playstore and found nothing.

I am left with no choice but take it to Samsung office tomorrow. I have important texts to read on WhatsApp and time rubs out every second.

I salute you, sir.

You don't need to take it to Samsung office.
That's the link: www.ityunit.com/2015/07/free-mtn-browsing-with-psiphon-handler.html?m=1
(If it doesn't open then it's censored by Nairaland and you need to quote the post to view it.)

If you have airtime or a normal data plan (not BB) then change your APN setting> Proxy.
Change it from 127.0.0.1 to 10.199.212.2 (note that you won't be able to use SAS until you change the proxy back to 127.0.0.1)

Or alternatively you can keep your SAS settings and just subscribe for a WhatsApp data plan.
Send WAMS to 131 to subscribe for a monthly WhatsApp plan.
It costs #60 and you'll be given 50-60MB.

I bought this MTN monthly WhatsApp plan on 24th of October so it should last me till 24th November. WhatsApp doesn't consume much data so I refuse to believe 60MB just vanished in less than two weeks on WhatsApp.

Also, I use MTN simple server and what's what I use to surf nairaland, should it be my monthly WhatsApp plan is exhausted this simple server ordinarily should be running my WhatsApp as well.

This whole stuff is complicated and extraordinary to me. I will try download that siphon from the site you posted. I appreciate.

Dial *559*2# to check your WhatsApp data balance.

Geeez!!! I just dialed *559*2# as you instructed and realised everything was in zeros. As in I've consumed every available data. Man, that WhatsApp surely drained my data too quick.

Thanks for clarifying me, brother. Now, I guess I should purchase another WhatsApp monthly data bundle, innit?

I was at your Opebi Office again yesterday and the Supervisor whom I met, failed to resolve the issue. With the help of the engineer he invited, it was established that re-installing the version of the software (OS) which the phone had before the last repair would help make the phone stable such that issues being experienced should be resolved.

The supervisor was unwilling to help and decided to ignore me claiming the phone has no issues. This was when he found out from the engineers that it will also require the touchpad to be changed to one that would be compatible with the previous stable software version.

The supervisor simply had the engineers re-install to the phone the same software version causing the issues, and he had me go back with the all the issues raised unresolved.

It is ironical that it was the same supervisor that called, and asked me to come, promising that the issue would be fixed, if not that there must be a way.

I will be sending you a detailed mail on this and will be waiting for your response to know what next to do.

Thank you for your time.

Hi Carlcaresophia,

I sent you a mail on the Tecno M3.

If you're in Lagos then try Computer Village or SLOT offices.
You can ask Sabiinc or Godvilla, they can repair it for you.

2. What do I know unlock it. Even if it hard reset.

How did it get locked?
If you can't input your password because your screen is broken and doesn't respond to touch input then you should repair the screen first.
