@MiddyO Thanks for your reply, however I am moving back next week, my husband can provide a bank statement as well if its needed, however I cant leave my daughter behind its best I take her with me, plus my husband was working whilst in the UK but since our leave was refused we had to move back. My pregnancy is high risk as it is according to my GP here hence my reason for going to the US to give birth . I guess I just have to give it a go anyway thanks.

I suggested leaving your daughter with ur husband to serve as an extra tie back home. (hubby and daughter), to show the V. OO that you intend to return to Naija after the baby comes.

Arm yourself properly with the usual- burden of proof, budget sheet, hosp correspondence, accommodation etc.
Pray hard for divine favour from God, that the V. O will not stress you.

Best of luck! Remember to give us feedback o!

Who issues the ESTA? What's the legality of it being used for child birth? And what level of information is required when applying.

For me, if she didn't provide the information when applying despite her ability to declare, then she can write to the authority that issued it - that is if it is legal.

I'm very grateful. Please is epidural included in the hospital package. wink I'm seriously hoping.

Awww, epidural is not included. I think Epidural was $750, but call the hosp to get first hand information before you leave.

she doesnt need to inform the embassy, because embassy doenst have her records in their Visa system, because she wasnt given a US visa,Rather she is travelling under a visa waiver programme as a british citizen. All she need to do is to apply for ESTA at CBP website & pay i think 15usd with credit card & if granted, she can travel to the US and have all her "proof of burden" documents to show to the CBP officer and explain why she wants to deliver her baby in the US.

I have the ESTA already ... that's why I'm wondering if I still need to notify the US embassy. But no wahala. I go still notify them if need be. I'm also enquiring about the cheapest hospital... pls someone help... I even had a nightmare about the bills sef... lol... seriously it's very annoying. I just dey consider say one day this pikin fit be president of USA. That's my only motivation... lol... otherwise na NHS get me straight....

That is one part of your problem solved another one is to proof that you can afford to pay for child birth in US. Looking for a 'cheap' hospital may not help you at POE, you may have to look for something that is not too cheap and not too expensive.

Thanks a lot. I'll actually be staying in Milwaukee which is about 70klm away but their hospital bills too much so my uncl would take me to Chicago on days I need to be in at the hospital. Tnx for the care.

Eeewooo!
Plan your logistics well o! What if labour starts while you are in Miluwakee? It's a long drive o. I don't want to see news on ABC how 911 took delivery of a baby on i-290 then see ya face all over the internet.

You need to rent a place in Chicago for a shortwhile, even if it's for a month.

CBP issues ESTA, its just an authorization from the US to permit u to travel under the US visa waiver programme if u are a citizen of a visa waiver country with the US.It expires after 2 years. The informations in the ESTA are just personal questions that they will like to more about u. Something like if u have been jailed before,if have been denied a US visa before, if u have some terminally illness like AIDS,etc. just to make sure that u are clean and that u are not coming to harm them in the US.So once u have your ESTA granted to u, have your Burden Of proof, & finally enough cash, then she is good to go and the rest she can explain with her mouth at the POE.

I can pay the funds provided it's less than $15k. I just wish there was a place that the max I'll spend will be 5-6k for everything...

Maybe there's no space for her plus baby and maybe hubby is joining too? Ive heard of people that move once baby is born. You're right she would need her relatives around her especially if she's not familiar with the area. She can find apartments on the airbnb website even for a few days. Always good to look out for the ones with positive reviews and close to people you know.
True that smiley

I doubt that she can apply for Yankee visa in the UK, when she no longer has legal standing in the UK. She said she was denied leave to remain in the UK, hence her reason for returning to Naija.

Which ties will she show the V. O in the UK?
Okay, my bad

There is. Ozycy posted her bills not up to 6k, my bills were slightly above 6k not up to 7k, legendsmum I guess has something not up to 5k. You'll get within your budget with proper research

Y are you catching feelings Naa! They have called me bully, the thing pepper me. So, in the spirit of giving back, I am purging my soul.

For the people looking for Dallas, LCMD is Las Colinas Medical Center Dallas.
I have not used it personally, but according their website:
Delivery is $2,071 for CS
And $1600 for normal delivery.

The issue is getting a doctor, some take up to $4,000 for delivery.

There is Medical City Dallas, $4,400 for normal delivery. Doc is $2,200 to $2500, epidural is $1,000

These are products of my research. There are cheap hosps everywhere in US. We should all take the time out to do our homework in preparing for this missionary journey.

If anyone is able to use these hosps and verify my info, berra come back here and give updates o! No be to just chop and clean mouth, ehen!

PS: Please don't PM me. I don't have additional info. I have never been to Dallas, this is just a guide, my enfamil nursette bottle. grin

You don't wanna know all the research we did, we covered the 50 states of America and Hawaii, even up to Alaska.

It was accommodation that discouraged us from many place. It remains my subjection that there are cheap hosps everywhere in US, it is all a phone call away.

Two heads are better than one. It's not a bad idea to team up. It makes the search worthwhile.

There were nights modath will stay up to call hosps and hang up in frustration because of oyinbo accents!

She has not yet forgiven me for advising her to go and watch keeping up with the kardashians.

It is just one kind that we keep recycling information, nothing new, Dr. F, Dr E, Dr Z! Hian!

@ Chicagobound are you scheduled for a CS after 41 or 39 weeks? Which one? Pls clarify. 41 weeks is risky o! Especially when you're not a few minutes away from the hospital. 39weeks sef.. If u can my dear, pls book a place nearer to the hospital before ur scheduled date.

I was able to persuade them to send it to a relative in US. What they sent is a letter quoting their fees and also stating that my wife has an appointment with both the financial department and a doctor on a stated date. My concerns: Is this good enough as the Preached doctor's/ hospital's correspondence? The letter was signed by a financial counsellor, pls do I need to push further for any other correspondence or Document. I just want to be sure Wifey is good to go.

Your wife is good to go. I used an email sent to my friend on my behalf at the notorious Houston POE and it was accepted. It was the financial counsellors that sent the mails too.

Just be sure that your wife's name is mentioned in the email. That is, the Dr appointment is in ur wife's name
