This is absolutely wrong. I graduated 5 years ago with no job despite my hard struggling. I was later lucky to have a little job with which I manage to feed myself. One of the first things I bought was I pass my neibor gen which I use to charge my phones and relax on any weekend I am free since my area hardly gets NEPA light. With this ban, this is a big blow to the poor and struggling Nigerians. This is not acdeptable! 1 Like |

ransomed: A defeatist approach to issues. Govt must halt implementing that ban or totally cancel it as it negates the efforts of the common man at survival. All this overzealousness that compounds already complicated power challenges people are battling. Wonder why ban generators in a generator economy? 1 Like |

Owliver:Even me I don't even know Up to half of all the Islands. It stretches. from Tarkwabay to Ogogoro, ladol up till Badagry. If you look up google map, you will notice that the Badary creek divides Lagos in to two, up till Badagry. The southernmost part is the Atlantic Ocean, the islands in the middle, Badagry creek amd upland Lagos. These Islands holds the hidden beauty of Lagos. I have had the privilege to hike from Tomaro to Tarkwabay village and beach. you will see the beauty and serenety of Lagos. I opened a thread on tarkawabay sometime ago. I will post the link when I search for it. The window of my bedroom overlooks a most beautiful lake that sparkles in the sunrise (which many wealthy people will pay millions to have) Stay on this post, I will update the link and some pics. MODIFIED: https://www.nairaland.com/2477482/serene-tarkwa-bay-one-best the tarkwabay thread. These pictures were taken from my bedroom window . I do have a good view of those Eko Atlantic towers from here.

mindtricks:::-- Go to court and make government rescind its decision. The harms generators (2 strokes engine) cause are more than the benefit. The cost-benefit analyses are on the negative. Thanks. |

ransomed: You rather go to court if you like. Your position is incorrect. Prove to us. You can't feign ignorance over how the poor depend on these generators. What alternatives do you have for them? The poor will only end up paying more as the price will simply go up. If the govt is serious, they must treat power issue as an emergency before embarking on the bogus ban. 1 Like |

teeboila:Its not about local production, it's about completely yanking it off the environment. It constitutes an environmental and health hazard. A similar ban was also placed on the two-stroke tricycles (keke) before they started bringing in the four-stroke engine currently in use now. |

Okanokan: It becomes more mind boggling that a so-called 'mass movement' that railroaded its aspirant into power (a man who was supposed to have been so moved over the Nigerian Predicament that he once wept in public, on campaign ground) are now showing all the antecedents of being FRIGGIN' STRANDED! They seem short of all the necessary acumen to piloting this nation of out its present mess without creating a lot of unnecessary and unwanted collateral damages. Quite a number of their policies, thus far, are half-baked and shoddily implemented too. I just pray they don't let down the masses. I doubt if Nigerians can survive another political heartbreak of this mega proportions. God save Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

Instead of banning imports on various kinds of generators, why don't they just do their job and give everyone electricity. Honestly, what kind of country is this. |

Penny wise- Pam foolish. If it was never an absolute banning then it means that noise pollution will continue to torment us mercilessly even in the 3 decades coming, at least. This is because there are uncountable number, styles, makes and brands of small generators dispersed around different Nigerian markets among the 36 states. As such, these will be continuously sold and noise pollution consequently thriving. So, what rubbish and blind banning are they talking about? I sense a vendetta against the Eastern importers of this brand of goods. Or, who doesn't know again that the noise pollution would be "significantly reduced" if the power sector is transparently stabilized as noise pollution source remains limited to only monoxides from cars, lorries and cycles. Abeg do the needful while we wait and endure the noise pollution, after all, we have been surviving with it after your first regime and before your second coming. |

mindtricks:::-- The same poor you are defending are the ones that die of Carbon monoxide ( Co) poisoning emanating from two strokes engine. The alternative of 4-strokes is available in the market and affordable to the "poor" as well. Our fuel contains up to 1500ppm of Sulphur and "i pass my neighbour" cannot completely burn the mixture of PMS and its constituents and Diesel thereby releasing obnoxious , choking smell that inhibits breathing and ultimately introduce Carbon monoxide into blood stream which finally de-oxygenate the heamoglobin leading to terminal cycle( death). There is a National program on low sulphur in fuel in December at Chelsea Hotel CBD, Abuja. The aim to bring the sulphur content down from 1500ppm to 50ppm for PMS and from 2500ppm to 100ppm for diesel by the year 2020. If you love the masses, you will support the phasing out of 2-strokes engines(i past my neighbour). Thanks. |
