Hello All. Myself ,DH and two kids arrived Houston this morning 13th December using United Air. Saw like 3 other preggies as well.Below is my POE experience .
DH- asked CBD how are you
CBD- fine. Can I have your passport .After going through the passport he just asked we differentiate between my daughters on the passport cus they look alike and they aren't twins.
CBD- how long are you here for
DH- 6 weeks with 1 kid and DW 4 months with I kid.
CBD- turns to DW why are staying that long (Already accessed me from afar knowing am peeggy )
DW- Because of child birth .
CBD- how much cash you have on you.
DH- we told him and he said ensure you keep all receipts and pay all bills.tooke our finger prints and said bye.

After baggage collection wahala started. Because we had more than $ 10,000 that we declared on landing card they told us to go and fill a form. After filling the form, they started interviewing again that why did we have so much money and we said cus DW will be here for long and will give birth. Then they said the money is even too small . I said well I still have cash on my atm and I have my statement from my bank. They took the statement in came out and said okay we can all go after they had photocopied our passports.
To God be the glory forever and ever amen .

Hello house, wow! I had to read all the pages of part 3 to catch up! Learnt a lot, been screen munching, my phone don full with NL munch, lol...How's everyone doing? Congrats to those who just delivered, have finished their missionary journey and got their visas(thank God say I don pass visa stage) now patiently waiting for my LO to come... Boredom and cold don finish me for Chicago... I advice those coming should check for the weather and pack appropriately oh(packed maternity free gowns) so I had to spend a lot on thick clothes/jacket/boots. Anyway! I will update as things go on. Thanks to all the gurus( nerf, modath, lady G, Phema, tvegas, and those who answered my many jjc questions) God bless...

Heya and Houston is quite warm, haven't used my jacket since I came. In fact I wear sleeveless sometimes

I couldn't help but laugh out loud! I can only imagine what was going through your mom's mind.
I'm the one who shared the story about my baby. She's 9mths now and doing great with her hearing aids. It's been a long, emotional, expensive and trying experience, but I can only continue thanking God for the American opportunity. My husband took my son to our hospital in Lagos and bumped into my doctor. After telling him about our situation, this man told him that the white people just wanted to collect our money that there's no way they can detect hearing loss at that age. More reason to keep thanking God!
Anyways, please to all the preggie moms, include the $350 for hearing test to your budget, it is not a waste.
A parent whose son is completely deaf and will need cochlear implants as reached out to me recently, so it's not as uncommon as we might think. I hope he'll share his own experience soon enough.
@ shelly23,The Lord is your Strength baby girl would do just fine, thanks for sharing your experience with the house,i remember declining the hearing test aswell and making unnecessary loud noises to see if my LO would react,he just couldn't be bothered @ d time and would continue whatever he was doing,i got so worried and started to question myself if $350 was worth my LO sense of hearing,I would definitely do the hearing test for future babies.

She's been held by immigration. My sis inlaw had same issue in October, she spent almost 10 hours. So yours might not get up to that. Once She has everysignle thingy they will request for, then no issue. so just relax

@tosenj I sat beside her in roll 30 d. She told she was still connecting a flight. We were 4 peeggy in the flight I saw with your sister and she told me her name is damola cus my daughter too was dami. When we were picking baggage I saw the other lady and my hubby mentioned it that he didn't see her and I was like hope all is well with her. She carried a flask and a blue diaper bag as hand luggage so I remember her well. Please when you hear from her please inform me ooo

Won't be due till August o...still have a long way to go lol. Just want to equip myself before then. Please I won't mind information on affordable hospital and doc. I can see most people tend towards Texas and doctorsepirati. Though my dad is in newyork but that doesn't determine anything....na bill be the mail thing. How soon do I need to contact a doc over there.
NB : No state or hospital in mind yet.....any advice is welcome from my experienced mummies in the house . Thanks
