WHY celebrate the birth of Christ?
Has your feeble mind wondered why?

I hope you can comment or discuss without the use of abusive or derogatory speech.

The answer is INCARNATION.
That's why Angels were COMMANDED to worship him at His birth as per Hebrews 1.
That's why John did somersault before he was even born at the mere fact of being near my Lord and My God

So you celebrate jesus birthday cus of incarnation? Pls give us more info on these. The mere mention of incarnation does not explain why you celebrate jesus birthday.

Pls quote the verse(s) you are reffering to in Hebrews and explain to us its link with the celebration of jesus birthday.
Want to know how angels where told to worship him at his birth and how you now use pagan practices to celebrate these.

Don't thank me for educating you, my reward is in heaven for exorcising/fumigating ignorance and naivety
Pride.

It's better you move on...
Ibrahim ( Abraham) was commanded by God to leave his wife Hajar ( Hagar ) and their infant son alone in the desert between Al-Safa and Al-Marwah with only
basic provisions to test their faith. When their provisions were exhausted, Hagar went in search of help or water. To make her search easier and faster, she went alone, leaving the infant Ismail ( Ishmael) on the ground.
She first climbed the nearest hill, Al-Safa, to
look over the surrounding area. When she saw
nothing, she then went to the other hill, Al-
Marwah, to look around. While Hagar was on
either hillside, she was able to see Ismael and
know he was safe. However, when she was in
the valley between the hills she was unable to
see her son, and would thus run whilst in the
valley and walk at a normal pace when on the
hillsides. Hagar travelled back and forth
between the hills seven times in the scorching
heat before returning to her son. When she
arrived, she found that a spring had broken
forth from where the Angel Jibreel hit the
ground with his wing. This spring is now
known as the Zamzam Well , and was revealed
by the angel of God as both sustenance and a
reward for Hagar's patience....So what if pagans do it later on

Infant Ismail? shocked. I thought he has come of age then to be able to carry his firewood which is to be used to offer him as a sacrifice.

Plus was he (Ismail) an infant when He and Abraham built the Kaaba? Since he was an infant when Abraham sent him and Hagar away. lipsrsealed

'Does not explain'? I just TAUGHT you these things and you are hard of hearing.

Christmas is celebration of the Love of God manifested in God becoming Flesh or incarnation. If that is insufficient for you, go invent your own reasons and stick to them cheesy

Pls quote the verse(s) you are reffering to in Hebrews and explain to us its link with the celebration of jesus birthday.
I would thre sooner you quote the Latin and German verses Adam used in naming the animals.

Read u Romans 14:5-6 for the umpteenth time till light breaks into your darkness; God is INDIFFERENT to days. It means man is FREE to observe days (TO THE LORD) for whatever reasons as long as he is CONVINCED in his heart

If I woke up today and esteemed Mondays or Wednesdays to the Lord, there is no Law against this. In fact, I once did this all to the glory and honor of my Lord and my God!

2 things,
1. flapping gum about pagan this or that won't improve your intelligence or weight of your argument. It just makes you look silly and you sound like a broken record. If God becoming flesh is pagan, am guilty as accused

2. The Angels worshipping my Lord and my God
Hebrews 1:6 (ESV)
6 And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God's angels worship him.”

Pride.
If all your knowledge is restricted to Watchtower garbage, and you run into wisdom, you will call it pride. Be wise, receive sense in Jesus name!

Christmas is celebration of the Love of God manifested in God becoming Flesh or incarnation. If that is insufficient for you, go invent your own reasons and stick to them cheesy
The people that started Christmas state that they do it on Dec 25th cus its the day jesus was born by mary, hence they are celebrating jesus birthday.
Now you have bought a new twist into it knowing fully well that the old idea of Christmas is wrong , hence the need to formulate a new one as the world would in no way support the cancellation of the celebration.
These new twist is devoid of explanation. For example, did the incarnation occur on Dec 25th?, why do you choose such date for the celebration of these incarnation?
What prompted you to start the celebration since there is no biblical evidence of such celebration?
How do you perform such celebration that is different from those celebrating the birth of Christ?
One is meant to know details about a new celebration before taking part in it, hence the questions I asked.

I would thre sooner you quote the Latin and German verses Adam used in naming the animals.
I'm talking about the book, not the language.

Rom 14:5,6
5 One person considers one
day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. 6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to
God.

Now Bro, since you feel you now have the right to choose a day to observe a celebration you created, what fully convinced you that Dec 25th is special and the date for the celebration of the incarnation.?
Why did you choose such date if that's the date you choosed, and if its not Dec 25th, which date did you personaly choose.?

Moreover, the specialty of a day does not correspond with the fact that it must be celebrated.

Do you know what paul finally said as to this observance, about the celebration?

I am convinced, being fully
persuaded in the Lord Jesus,
that nothing is unclean in itself.
But if anyone regards
something as unclean, then for
that person it is unclean. If
your brother or sister is
distressed because of what
you eat, you are no longer
acting in love.
Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died.
Therefore do not let what
you know is good be spoken
of as evil. For the kingdom
of God is not a matter of eating
and drinking, but of
righteousness, peace and joy
in the Holy Spirit.

I do not personaly choose Any day of the year to observe an event cus of these scripture

Gal 4:10,11
You are observing
special days and months and
seasons and years! 11 I fear for you, that somehow I have
wasted my efforts on you.

I also agree to the statement that the day of ones death is more important than his birth.

2 things,
1. flapping gum about pagan this or that won't improve your intelligence or weight of your argument. It just makes you look silly and you sound like a broken record. If God becoming flesh is pagan, am guilty as accused
The celebration is what I'm talking about and not about the word becoming flesh, why was such event celebrated using the many paganistic customs, rituals and mode of worship?

2. The Angels worshipping my Lord and my God
Hebrews 1:6 (ESV)
6 And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God's angels worship him.”
Are you trying to tell us that this event occured when jesus became flesh? To imply that the angels did obeisance to jesus when he was born by mary? If that is ur view, you are totally wrong.

verse 3 and 4 helps us to understand that these event occured after jesus death, not during his birth.
The angels did obeisance to jesus when he was exalted above them, when he sat at the right hand of the most high and inherited a name that is superior to theirs.!
This did not occur when jesus became flesh.

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.
After he had provided
purification for sins, he sat
down at the right hand of the
Majesty in heaven. So he
became as much superior to
the angels as the name he has
inherited is superior to theirs.

The use of demeaning words or statement, derogatory or abusive words is for politicians and worldly people.
They use it in discussion so as to look important or superior, and to try to make the other party look inferior or bad, more so when attempting to look meek.
They do this expecially when they know that their points lack merit or truthfulness. It is not the way of a worshiper of jehovah.
Let him that think he stands be care he does not fall!

Lastly, ill take ur continued use of derogatory terms, either politely or not as a method derived to end the discussion

There is no 'new twist', am working hard on your feeble brains. Appreciate knowledge and wisdom seeing ignorance is very expensive!
Nobody can with certainty tell when Jesus was born, the most important thing is that God became flesh at a specific point in time.
Any date I pick and somebody would always wonder why I left the other 364. So it is quite in vain explaining myself for each day I picked. We have national day of prayer and fasting and even private days of prayer. Do I owe nobody an explanation why I picked Wednesday and Monday? No, what matters is what I do on those days. The sanctity of Sunday is in what we do with Sunday not with Sunday itself.

I will keep on hammering Romans 14:5-6 down your cranium. 'Let everyone be convinced in their hearts'. Are you convinced? Does there need to be any biblical evidence of neckties before you don one? What about bible verses? Did you know these were invented hundreds of years after Pentecost?

The enjoyment of the socalled historical and unbiblical 25th December festival is so fun that many Christians will do anything to back it up with the bible just to be sure they are not celebrating as the pagans do. The bible gave only two birthday events. Both events were from pagans. King Pharaoh and Herod. Bothe birthday events took lifes. King Herod ’s birthday took John the Baptist head. While king Pharaoh’s killed his chief baker. It is important to read the whole book to understand how birthday led them in killing. They might have got drunk and feeling too proud on a special. None of the prophets celebrated birthday. This alone should tell you its not important. Why tag the Messiah with a world events?

That of King Pharaoh :
Genesis 40:20-23 Now it came to pass on the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. Then he restored the chief butler to his butlership again, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand. But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them. Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.

And that of KING Herod :
Mark 6:14-29
20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

you are totally bereft of reason.
We are commanded to take the Lord's Table. Do you do it daily or how often do you do it? Do you attempt to do it on the day Jesus died?

Likewise, Christmas is not marking the day Jesus was born but celebrating His incarnation

1 Corinthians 8 on food offered to idols is a good point to learn from.

Food offered to idols is paganism and it caused the weak and feeble minded like you to stumble because they imagined eating as equivalent to worshipping idols. Yet Paul is clear, it is a matter of conscience. If such a clear interaction with paganism is left to conscience, how much more Christmas whose 'paganism' is essentially in the past!

There is nothing pagan in commemorating Christ's incarnation unless Christ is a pagan deity

21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

Did you know there were no chapters or verses in the bible?
These were invented later. Does the fact that they are totally absent from the bible make them wrong?

Your job ought to be not just proving that birthdays are not celebrated in scriptures, but to prove how celebrating them contradicts any scriptures

IRONY:CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS IS ALRIGHT BECAUSE JESUS TOLD YOU IN THE BIBLE TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY.
A Christian should celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in his or her heart everyday in order to appreciate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. but when you set aside a particular day (December 25) and you start worshiping trees, so called demon looking elfs and a man in a red costume then you are worshiping the Babylonian God of the Catholics. the pagans of the world who disguise themselves as Christians and led by their father the pope . have deceived the people into celebrating their pagan Babylonian holiday as Christmas. I intentionally not observe so called Christmas to show the people that i am not been deceived. so on so called Christmas day, instead of wearing nice clothes as expected by those that seek to deceive, i wear my short knickers and i go and play football for the day. that's how i show my defiance.

What do you gain in showing your defiance?

Yo believe one too many things.

Explain to me this;
Is Watchtower the sole infallible interpreter of scriptures?

Create a thread for that and invite me, if there is no abusive, derogatory, demeaning speech mentioned there, I will comment.
This thread is about Christmas

you are totally bereft of reason.

There is nothing pagan in commemorating Christ's incarnation unless Christ is a pagan deity

Ones there is no derogatory statement(s),ill comment.

You have appealed to watchtower mantra here and none of your own thinking so it is very relevant

The fact that no prophet celebrated it is enough for us to know it was not important. If is not important it maybe for some reasons. We know that Jesus was Presented in the Temple - Eight days after He was born. As required by the law of Moses after the birth of a child. Many Christians do this today. They call it child dedication. Pagans do not do it. These are some of the examples we should follow. Not the ones invented from a pagan root. Jesus lived for more than 30 years bevore his death. If celebration of his birthday was to be an example for us. I think it will be written severally in the scriptures. There are many things the bible didnt tell us not to do. But with common sense we know that they are sin. I am not saying celebrating Jesus day is a sin. I am against lying to tag 25th of December as a specific day He was born even if the bible does not support that claim.

Jesus was not born on December 25th, it may have been implied so but we know it is not true.
Jesus' date of birth is irrelevant as is the date of his death. What is important is his birth and death and of course resurrection.

Christmas celebrates his birth, God/Word made flesh.

One may choose to major on minors such as church seating arrangement, choir, lighting, instruments in a church gathering, or major on the major; FELLOWSHIP.

Likewise on Christmas am least interested in Christmas tree, lighting, Santa and other minors. I wisely choose to focus on Christ , God manifested in the Flesh. I have little tolerance for pettiness cool

Please study 1 Corinthians 8 and tell me whether you'd stumble over food freshly offered to pagan deities

My brother, I don't even know a tithe of all there is to know. How can I be proud?
But one thing I know for sure, the 'pagan connection' in Christmas is blown out of proportion by a bunch of self-righteous feeble hearts, just like those who in 1 Cor 8 stumbled over food offered to idols

No pagan in that sir.
but do we experience The joy everyday or once a year.?
Do we receive our king every Dec 25th?
Is jesus born every year?
The yearly celebration of an event at a period it did not occur, using dates and practices specifically used by idol worshipers is pagan!

Thank you. That's simply all some do to celebrate Jesus. They worship and receive their King. They rejoice and do good works, pray and give thanks. If you do that everyday, please allow others do it on the day of their choice. December 25 is a day the Lord has made, it is not a pagan day. Pagans couldn't make a day to save their lives. The devil has no copyright, he's a thief. Tell me something, incantations and speaking in tongues, which came first and which is pagan?

Thank you for the correction.
Have you ever thought about real as opposed to imagined pagan practice of offering food to idols and then eating it in 1 Cor 8?

While it is debatable exactly how 'pagan' Christmas is, this was a clearly pagan practice yet Paul appeals to conscience. This tells me thAt Christmas even if it were to be proved 'pagan' is a far less offensive activity.

So I have always tried to get to the hearts of anti-Christmas brigade....what really motivates them in opposing it?

Probable reasons
1. They are raised in sects that oppose it and for conformity purposes, they oppose it as well regardless of how (un)founded the opposition is
2. They misunderstand the purpose of Christmas, and thus manifest a zeal but not according to knowledge
3. They are proud, self righteous bunch simply out to prove themselves better than the next guy
4. They are rebels without cause. Some will just oppose norm for the heck of it, they will sleep during the day and stay up at night just to be different

While I can't discern the motive for each opponent, I can easily pick sectarian opponents like dolphinheart because for the past 15 years, I have heard Jehovah's Witnesses regurgitating the arguments he is advancing here VERBATIM
