Hi, has anyone used the Florida Hospital, Celebrations before? I got a very expensive quote from them even though I mentioned being "self-pay. My doctor's practice gave me 75% discount and I still paid $3500. That's supposed to be for. 7-15 visit, I mentioned having only 4 visits as I'm almost due to give birth, they said it doesn't matter.

- anyone used the Florida Hospital, Celebrations centre before? Was it a good experience?
- any information you can provide to assist me with the entire process please......

Thank you.

Good day House.

I'm sorry i don't have any info on accommodation. We're staying with family so we didn't have to search for any rental accommodation.

Welcome to part 3 of this thread, part 2 is now far too for newbies to read through.

Please see part 2 here for references https://www.nairaland.com/2176096/give-birth-usa-cost-procedures

Thank you.
thanks for pointin that out. That's y I stated in one of my previous post that I cud not remember if chigoziri was asked durin her interview or not.

Anyway lots of advice has been given on the issue so she can think it tru and follow her heart not forgetting to pray very well too

justwise:

chigoziri case is out of the picture here, she categorically lied at the interview when asked if she was pregnant then letter sent a letter the embassy stating her intent to use the visa for child birth...that is a clear case of misrepresentation.

Its not the same case with the one we are discussing.

Dear Justwise - Good day and compliments of the season. I dont know if you remember the posts above last year. Ok, now i want to go back for another VISA...this time not for birthing purposes...just for vaction and training. I am not pregnant as well, baby girl is a year plus. smileysmiley...so far, we been to 2 european countries and now i want to go for a visa. I am wondering, is there a possibility of being rejected? Assuming they ask why the visa is cancelled, ofcourse I will be honest to say i lied . Please let me know what your thoughts especially on how i should respond.

Thank you and happy new year

You are good to go dear. Now you just need to sort out your accomodation, hustle for USD up and down the place, book your doctor's appointment, search for flight ticket deals and buy now and sit tight and await the arrival of your LO.
If you wanna shop for baby stuff and sea freight to Nigeria, now will be a good time as well.

chigoziri nice to see you here again. Obviously your previous immigration record will show up but as you rightly pointed out giving an honest answer will make a huge difference. Nobody can say categorically if you will be given or not but honesty will be an added advantage.

My dear people,

Here is thanking God for another wonderful delivery experience.

Our lovely princess arrived on Friday Nov 13 at Centennial Medical Centre, Frisco;

Discharged and now awaiting BC and other documentation.

Will post details of our final bills later. Wishing all the awaiting mamas and daddies God's abundant grace.

Blessings.

Dear NL Family.

Compliments of the season and Happy New Year to everyone. Congratulations to all recent new mamas/papas; successful visa and POE stories, etc.

Its been terribly hectic for me since I got back to naija so I couldnt provide updates until now. Apologies.

I flew back to lagos on Dec 13 with United. It was very easy adding baby's ticket with United Airline even though I bought the ticket on wakanow. Paid $381.3 for my baby's ticket.

My final medical bills for Vaginal Delivery are as follows:

* Health Central Women's Care Frsico (Ob/Gyn). - $2500 (covers lab tests, 2 scans and prenatal supplements)
* Centennial Medical Centre Frisco - 2day stay at hospital for mum & baby - $3918
* Pediatrician (for hospital stay) - $696.66 (negotiated from $1,366)
* 2 week lab test (PKU) for baby @ Centennial Medical Centre - $38
* Village Pediatrics (after discharge from hospital) 2 visits - $237

Total:$7,389.66

Firstymum, thanks for the headsup about the increased baggage allowance for infants. I did some last minute extra shopping and was able to enjoy my baby's 2 bags allowance.

@MiddyO, how are you and your LO? Hope you are doing great. I sat beside your mum on my flight. Did she tell you? She was really awesome and helped me carry my daughter several times during the flight. Please extend my thanks to her.

The exchange rate and limit on transaction value on the Naija Mastercard almost messed me up. I was waiting to have my baby before doing most of my shopping cos I wanted to be sure of my bills first and that i was really having a girl. Thank God for the PTA that I bought before travelling and the fact that I had bought most of the heavy stuffs like wipes and diapers online in October. I got Amazon to deliver directly to the shippers who shipped it to Lagos by sea.

I had an awesome experience with the most wonderful hosts but I'm just so glad to be back home with my baby and that everything has ended well.

I wish everyone a wonderful 2016 and the safe delivery of all our babies (physical and spiritual).

Blessings

aunty bbaby84 i gave my visa transcript, look through my posts biko. had my baby in october 2014 in el paso and even boarded the same flight with some nairalanders and we had a ball. you certainly did not see me coming here to ask for a recommendation for a doctor after applying for a visa already. preparedness means that you already have options for a doctor. this is irrespective of having procured a visa or not. it is simple common sense. bearing in mind that i am from thread 1 and 2 i do not expect you to know who i am or better still be privy to my child's photos or info. since you are not the person whom i fbi-ed or cia-ed, abeg chop happy new year for me for 2016 and drop your albeit baseless mic.

amash: hmm houston....#thinking#
am a first time mum and havent even started my antenatal. am four month gone....still choosy on what hospital here in abuja for ante natal and what state in the u.s for delivery....
i guess am not on track! someone scold me please....
my work schedule is tight though.....#smh#

Good day Nairalanders!
Amash, it's okay. You should start antenatal though, you have to make time for your baby bust schedule or not.. I also delayed in making up my mind about where to deliver.
Only submitted my visa app about 3 weeks ago.
Had my interview today.
It was easy breezy.thanks to God and thanks to this forum.
The visa officer asked why I was traveling and I told him to have my baby.
He asked if I had contacted any hospital, I said yes and he asked to see any doc showing that, I gave him d letter.
He asked what I do, I'm not working at d moment and so I told him.
He asked what my husband does, I told him
He asked what d cost of d trip was, I gave him a spread sheet and then he asked to see bank statements, I showed him.
Then he said my.visa has been approved and I should ensure I keep all my receipts "forever and ever"
I laughed and said thanks.
All of this took about 3-5mins.
A couple of people were rejected when I was there, including another pregnant lady.
I believe she didn't come out straight to say she was gonna have her baby there, the.VO had to drag it outta her.
All in.all,I'm grateful to God and all of you who helped with your tips.

Congrats to all those who have been granted their visas recently. Well,as regards doctoresparati, El paso is a border state. Anyone who bothered to look up the area before would know that. It's public info. Like any border state,eg lagos/seme in our own country, illegal immigrants always have access one way or the other. So it's not a big deal. It didn't start today either. I believe doctoresparati decided to set up their maternity service legally so they can capture immigrant clientele who are genuine and wanna pay. Personally, they make it easy, anyone who has read their medical responsibility letter would know it was carefully written. Anyway, I found out about them on nairaland and I can imagine how many other people have. So,I'm pretty sure the embassy is getting a lot of their letters. The CO at my interview also asked me why I am opting for them instead of other hospitals. In my opinion,as long as you.have all the other requirements, no one is gonna be able to just deny you.a visa based on your choice of health care provider. That being said,it's always better to research all your options and pick what works best for you.

DISCLAIMER - I'm not a doctoresparati agent oh! Ain't getting no referral fees oh! I'm not advertising oh! Lol!

Thats not right, NICS caters to baby's needs so there for, baby was born 1am, which was on thursday, their businesses with you started on a Thursday, they should bill you 2 days! I think you should hold your ground when you call them, that baby was born thursday, and since their services is rendered to baby and not you, their billing should start from thursday

This is true.

I got to the hospital on the 27th, gave birth past 1am on the 28th and left the hospital in the morning of the 30th.

Oakbend counted it as 48 hours after delivery, so it was 2 days for both baby and me

Nics counted it as 28th (the day the baby was born) ; 29th and 30th so it was 3 days

Let's always ask for clarification before we pay any bill

No feedback that I had an interview and was granted a visa and that I was thankful to all for the help?
Hospital breakdown on top martell and del sol when we don flood time line with as at then? Oya sorry say I no tok with full details, Aunty no vex.
However full details was not even the issue at hand abi?
Point is Kenny's post came off a bit suspicious especially the part where the VO asked for who the doctor was and she (he) gave one "off the top of her (his?) Head. And then the VO advised to ensure an appointment is booked before travelling. I mean, maybe I am an "unbeliever" but it sounds incredulous to me. That sort of question is usually the deal breaker. Back in 2014 a lot of people were refused visas for bot havinh a letter from their ob/gyn directly.
That being said, my opinion doesn't count as fact abi? I can be doubtful all I want.
I don't understand your defender of the universe stance but no be everything man pickin go understand.
You can help Kenny with doctor info now sha especially as the b2 visa has been granted now. She (he?) really needs it.
