Now, this depends on how much hospital bill is in North carolina and my husband buys my dad's idea.
I will be making some new calls today to north carolina to know how much it costs but if u hv any idea or any hospital. Pls, dnt hesitate to share.
ALSO, CAN I BUY MY TICKET TO NORTH CAROLINA BUT SHOW THEM MY DR'S CORRESPONDENCE AND HOSPITAL BILLS FOR ELPASO. If yes, would they ask me why I didn't buy my ticket direct to elpaso and what I came to do wherever I landed
I HAVEN'T SLEPT SINCE LAST NIGHT MY DAD CALLED TO TELL ME IT MUST BE DURHAM, NC. He likes everyone buying his opinion....

I don't think this is much of a problem.... Your husband is just buying ur dad's idea become he thinks it will save him money. By the time u tell him that the cheapest hospital & doc combo in NC will consume any savings u make 4rm not paying for accom, transport etc plus some extra thousand $$ wink wink he'll quickly sell off your dad's idea grin and buy yours - with this exchange rate wey dey frown face like angry angry angry
.... or maybe ur dad could put up the extra since he wants everyone to buy his idea

For your second question, You could tell them @ the POE that you want to spend time with your family friends in NC first before you go to give birth in elpaso. I know some Mums here have done so b4, although it's more preferable if you go directly to where u stated on ur visa application/interview

kkbabygirl:

I entered the US legally to deliver my baby. The baby was born in Dec 15.

Regrettably the baby was born with a congenital heart disease called trunsuc artheriosis. She has had two heart surgeries and is currently in the hospital. She has lived all her life in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.

At the moment, the doctors are uncertain of her discharge date. Additionally the baby is billed for more hospital visits and surgeries in the future.

Unfortunately, the health care delivery in Nigeria cannot guarantee my baby a better care. I have confirmed that our hospitals are ill equipped and have poor manpower and skill to manage the baby health. The baby's condition is such that she will require a periodic hospital visit and future replacement of some valve in the heart.

I am skeptical of taking my baby back home. While I am praying for her complete recovery, it is my desire to remain in the US and watch my baby have the best health care in the world.

Please I need advise on how to achieve this.

Thank you.

Hello kkbabygirl, Congratulation and thank God for safe delivery. So sorry for all that have happened and I know God will give you a much more reason to smile again through her complete and total healing. As for your baby going back to Nigeria is not a good idea for now maybe later. As for filling for extension you can, due to medical purpose. All you need to do is book appointment on Info pass and go to Houston immigration office and make inquiry on what your options are. Go with all your medical documentation and asked the baby's doctors to write you a detail letter on the medical situation and care plan. As for funds, you can go to gofundme to create and raise fund for yourself by telling your story and asking people to help if they can. I know the government will give you some kind of relief if you speak with the billing office and the babies social workers. if you need more info let me know, I will start to ask questions on what can be done. I pray you find favor and helper, it is well will continue to pray for you and ur baby. Also call Texas woman and see how they can help too , I know they have some kind of programs they do for women relief too.

The lady I spoke with won't let me make any payment untili come in person which is quite worring for me. Will ring them again if I can speak with a diff person or something. I called houston methodist and I got a quote of nearly 10k. Any leads within my range pls. Tanks! Violet_vallery@yahoo.com

Yeah...., this is what happens when we over abuse something or take it for granted..

I'm guessing the CBP or consulate investigated the large number of dr. Fs documents they received and paid him a visit... He must have seen the no. of people that used his correspondence to enter the US compared with the number that he actually delivered their babies and realized that peeps were using his document to get into the US and go to another dr.......I guess that loophole is gradually closing now. Next on the line is probably the change of intent letter.... Peeps have to find new methods.

If yes, would they ask me why I didn't buy my ticket direct to elpaso and what I came to do wherever I landed first.

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST. I JUST NEEDED TO SHARE MY ANNOYANCE WITH YOU PEOPLE. PROBLEM SHARED IS HALF SOLVED PLUS I HAVEN'T SLEPT SINCE LAST NIGHT MY DAD CALLED TO TELL ME IT MUST BE DURHAM, NC. He likes everyone buying his opinion....
The End. Thanks everyone.....

O dear, I was in a similar situation last year when my uncle suggested I stay with his family in Milwaukee; accomodation, transport to hospital, feeding et al will be settled. I told him thanks for the idea but I have already made non-refundable payments in Houston (which was not true anyways..lol). The point is this: 3 months is too long for you not have ur sanity or be happy. the greatest joy I had was making all my arrangements. I can't stay with someone I'm not close to for that long. If you go to NC, and bills becomes excessive, what will happen? Give your husband reasons why u two should be on the same page and make your choices. Yes, your dad means well but in this americana baby journey, please go with what has been tested and trusted ! pregnancy is not cast a stone, it may not go absolutely as planned. You need your sanity, space and happiness for 3 months! sometimes you may not feel like talking to anyone, taking your bath, cleaning the house etc which your host might not entertain ! SInce it's your money you are using to pay, the decision power lies in you !

Thanks. I will keep talking to my husband. Except my dad is ready to give us 20,000 dollars cash for north carolina. As for the man, he is a rich medical doctor over there and has a guest house for us plus he is doing all this things cos he wants his spoilt american only son to marry my last sister. And this christmas he came down with his children, my dad annoyingly did everything for them. They come to eat every meal in my house, gave them a car and security to move about with.
I don't even know if my husband is thinking that the man will now pay our hospital bills if we stay at his house. Well, I still dey on the matter. I don't want me and my husband to rely on anyone. We hv never and will never. Instead of me to travel to somewhere I will owe money I rather have my baby here in naija and continue travelling for holidays with my kids the way I have been doing. I dnt want anything that will spoil my years of travel history. The man says elpaso is a bush but na that bush I wan go deliver my pikin. All the nigerian women going there have not died nah. We really need to make a decision so I can know my stand. Am supposed to leave at least 2nd week of nxt month and to be due in march. No tickets yet, though I still use style dey wait for promo. Me and my twins are getting almost 900k for tickets. Mum can sort herself. Plus this dollars thingy...
I will keep praying and talking to him.
Thanks everyone for ur contribution towards me and my dad's saga. Sometimes, he can be this annoying and authoritative

@Cuteless I'm interested in this post of urs. Thing is I don't really understand. Never flew Luftansa and United before. I know United POE is Houston, which is for Luftansa? I also want cheap tickets too for May.

Thanks

cutelass:

Are u particular about BA? And it's transit and not direct flight. If u are not particular about BA, why not book united...u can even get less than 250k. The good thing is that ur 'going' is handled by their partner lufthansa just incase u wanna avoid houston poe. Return u flyunited through houston which gives baby same baggage allowance as u. In the end its a win-win. The ticket is valid for 3 months as against the normal 1 yr...so u can't decide to reschedule for Aug or say Dec. That's the only drawback else u can add infant ticket, adjust return date etc. Call united office direct if u cant go to their office. Google for their no (call the gsm nos, the landline doesn't work)...don't wanna drop it here before dem go remove the post.
