Used my stanbic naira mastercard online this week and was charged N260/$1
But When I used it on amazon, I choose the naira option (I.e. at check out select naira not dollars as the payment amount) and stanbic charged about N207/$1
I haven't used it at the ATM or POS yet.
Just tot too share.

How much was finally debited from ur acct cos for gtb u even incur additonal charges for choosing naira payment on Amazon plus the crazy black market rate they charge.

Union, first and Diamond in Abuja don't ask for Dom accounts but regular accounts with the bank where the Naira equivalent will be debited. All do moneygram. They write down ur name and take your number, you are placed on the queue, cause they are allowed either one or two transactions a day. When your turn reach, they will call you. Diamond here used to allocate dollar quota to branches, now they open the moneygram Portal at 8am everyday for all their branches nationwide. They call it (fastest fingers first) if that branch dulls, nothing for them.

I have been using my stanbic master card on Amazon and gets exact debit from the bank (N207/$1).
ozycy:

Have you gotten debit alert from stanb ic and was it at 207 rate cos I checked out with Naira on Amazon some tym ago and was charged 207 but my GTBank duducted at #270 and they even sent a mail to their customers of recent to always check out with the country currency where the purchase is being made instead of Naira cos the current bank rate will always be used.

I vnt tot of dat oo! But I was thinkng. If I leave niger say april first week. Stay all of april in texas. By May when am nearly due port to Florida. And stay 2 weeks at florida max and back to texas. My search at birth hospital at texas has just being fruitless and so tiring. Doing d search all over again is more difficult than laying on my side. If I won't ve any issues at poe really would be a blessing! I pray I and bae wouldn't ve a reason to stay longer than 2weeks at d suits. 2nd doctor in texas would dat me necessary after two weeks at florida with doctors?!

Personally I won't advice you to go that long without seeing a doctor towards the end of your pregnancy. Your doctor visits are important but even more so at that time. Most doctors change frequency to weekly visits at that time, that should tell you the importance. They need to monitor your cervix, and examine you to be sure everything is going as planned.

I believe one of your primary reasons for undertaking this journey is to get access to better health care, don't miss out on it. Just decide which one is more favourable to you and go there, after having your baby you can move to wherever.

For POE it just depends on what you said in your visa application, if you said you were going to Florida then you may be asked if you show up at an unrelated POE, but as long as you can explain your travel plans it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

My dear with visas anything is possible...my friend was preggie, went for the interview with her hubby, was asked if she wanted to birth in the US, hubby said no while she said if given the opportunity she wouldn't mind, and guess what? VO told them to go get two hospitals, budget plus all with evidence they can pay and come back on any Wednesday... Luckily the next day was a Wednesday so she did her homework that day and they came next day and were told to pick up visas in 3 days...everyone's grace is different...

vcole:

you mentioned a doctor off the top of your head? so what correspondence did you give? cos the rules clearly state that you should have contacted a doctor who is ready to accept medical responsibility. Hospital correspondence only shows their fees and policy. You are the one giving summarized stories (maybe phony too). To come here asking for Atl doctors when that has been flogged and beaten to death and even buried in the other parts just seems phony. I am very sure that your "correspondence" clearly states that they are exclusive of physician fees.
VO advised you to book a doctor's appointment? #miraculousvisathings LWKMD!!!!
Plus you have been a registered nairalander since 2007 with interests in other random albeit male-seeming kinda posts - building and recruitment. and since 2007, all of a sudden you post on dec 29th, 2015 asking about Atl docs. maybe i have watched too much fiction sha.

She still sleeps that deeply, all night sef for that matter

Loll really I just heard o!!! I've been disturbing mine too.. Thank God o chaii it will end in praise..

Hello friends. Its been a while. Can see loads of testimonies. May our God's name be continually praised.

Pls a quick one. A friend of mine needs answers. She is 22 weeks gone and just had her water break. Doctors have put her on bed rest. But she is worried of the baby's chances of making it and if it's possible to have the baby in the Stares. She has a medical visa already.

Thanks in advance.

How will you explain your baby when you leave?
Do you intend to pay for your medical care or are you going to ignore the bill?

Best case, you will be banned for fraudulent declaration, never get USA visa again.
Worst case you will be banned with a criminal case waiting for you for not paying.
Your child will never get green card.

really...
They don't ask "are you pregnant" it's you that'll declare it.
I'm sure they asked why you are in the US.
It's d same implication of concealing pregnancy to enter the US.... Some escape it, since me don't....

Ladyguinivere what are d implications?

Ladyguinivere what are d implications?

She came to birth but didn't declare it. She says she wasn't asked. Personally I always advocate for total transparency to avoid future issues.
But since its not a crime to birth with her B visa, her best bet is to pay completely and carry all her reciepts for exit and subsequent entry. Because although technically she didn't commit a crime, it could lead to harassment by a hyper cbp.
She could email her intent before or after birthing with specific details eg I birthed in bla hospital on bla date and paid all my bills and baby's bills to have something on the record.
