TheArchangel: I didnt say nurses are paramedics My reply was to clarify the reason why health profesesionals cannot be paid the same wages regardless of whether they work the same hours or not. |

TheArchangel:hahaha. Now I can confirm re really the blind one. Did you not read d part I stated that consultants only come over when their attention is required. Y are you so blinded by prejudice? You brought up d issue claiming drs are hardly ever around during calls. I never brought up any issue about other paramedics not being around during calls so stop twisting issues and make your point. |

francizy:To be honest I feel for them, but their colleagues here in our hospital are not representing well at all but if paying them more money and skippba level will make them go back to diligent work then they should do it, but I know as well as you do that they will still go back to old habits maybe if one sees me using a new phone he will go on strike saying I'm paid more. make dem pay dem Sha the people dey try especially orderlies and nurses Baba all your epistles no change the fact say as far as Nigeria is concerned your sector is lagging seriously behind Una mumu true true even if na Ideato slap you wan tear me no wahala you guys are very important sadly this country neglects your efforts |

Some people just talking rubbish. Who is asking for Doctor's pay. I don't regret being a radiographer. Truth is apart from those in federal, most doctors earn less than me. Infact I pity most Doctor's especially those in private still collecting 100k monthly after combining 2 jobs. The point of the strike is this; NMA & FG REACHED AN AGREEMENT, JOHESU & FG ALSO REACHED AN AGREEMENT. FG HAS LONG iMPLEMENTED ITS AGREEMENT WITH NMA BUT HAS REFUSED TO IMPLEMENT JOHESU'S. Give me a better definition of bias. 4 Likes |

dicefrost:so because I can repair my computer I'm a computer engineer? your uncle does CS so he can probably repair an hernia and most likely drain a sub dural haematoma Abi? this is the problem with nairaland we should have an unlike button so idiots like the above will be put in their places on a regular basis! |

BREAKiNG NEWS

Re: JOHESU To Embark On Nationwide Strike by TheArchangel(f): 2:58pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
otswag:Blinded by prejudice, hardly!!!! Consultants are the professionals patients are assigned to especially in a teaching hospital, the HOs, reg and senior reg are just their students and lackeys who are supposed to be monitored but are giving a leeway in Nigerian hospital to commit medical blunders. I am not twisting issues, stating it as it is. |
Re: JOHESU To Embark On Nationwide Strike by Tbamo(m): 3:03pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
olowodaddy:it's not bias. if I was FG I would sit down and think which group would affect the polity more if we don't satisfy them! well the answer is before you! you guys will go on strike and life will continue, when you see that the world is not coming down you will take to illegal actions like locking up important access points in the hospitals and denying access to th keys when these don't work you move on to barbarism by attacking doctors ( abeokuta 2013 June, Uniport sept2014 etc) when this also does not work you will start to intimidate pts u all so claim to love! |
Re: JOHESU To Embark On Nationwide Strike by TheArchangel(f): 3:04pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
Tbamo:These are baseless assumptions not present in the post you quoted. You are simply interjecting. The post wrote CS and you are interjecting other surgical procedures and making unnecessary inferences not related to the subject of discourse. |
Re: JOHESU To Embark On Nationwide Strike by Tbamo(m): 3:09pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
TheArchangel:of course I'm interjecting he claimed his uncle could perform CS so he was better than doctors. all I did was to add a few procedures his 'better than doctor' uncle should be able to perform at th very least and you claim I made baseless assumptions. pls tell me why they are baseless don't just use high sounding words to b up ur arguement show the baseless assumptions and counter! that's constructive! |
Re: JOHESU To Embark On Nationwide Strike by TheArchangel(f): 3:09pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
Tbamo:This is not dick measuring contest. If so, can you explain why residents in US receives less than registered nurses but they work more than 80 hours in a week? We are in the new millennium not 2000years ago where barbaric medicine was practiced, this is the era of evidenced based medical practices with diversification of roles. No longer jack of all trades master of none. Medicine no longer revolves around the doctors, patients are now the supreme boss. .

Tbamo:The poster never mentioned what you wrote. So it's just like putting words into someones mouth. Surgery is a skill learnt by looking and learning and regulated by laws. Subdural hematoma you mentioned.....hmmm...except you are a neurosurgeon I do not see how anybody both doctors and others can do it. |
Re: JOHESU To Embark On Nationwide Strike by Tbamo(m): 3:19pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
TheArchangel:oh now you want a dick measuring contest Pls go through u our same report and check out how much that value changes if only second year residents were measured and then move on to third year and finally check out the extreme change that occurs when they become attendants the nurses your report quotes for are at the pinnacles of their careers and only get administrative promotions based on years and experience....but oh Lord the sufferings of these times are nothing to be compared with what is revealed in 4 yrs after they finish residency!!! |
Re: JOHESU To Embark On Nationwide Strike by otswag(m): 3:20pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
TheArchangel:hahaha! Its remarkable how u cunningly used d term "students" to describe even the senior regs so as to indirectly beat down the view of their competence in the eyes of the public.. Well, u aren't wrong. Residency is a training program so they really are "trainees" for a specialty. however, the moment ur issued a graduation certificate and a medical license, u have the absolute backing and trust of d govt to see and treat patients as a general practitioner. Yes! House officers included with the guidance of other senior drs. So don't u dare come over here and imply that only consultants have d competence to treat patients. If u expect consultants to sit down in the hospital waiting for patients like they are still house officers, then u have no idea what d word "consultant" really means. 1 Like |

Re: JOHESU To Embark On Nationwide Strike by Tbamo(m): 3:25pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
TheArchangel:funny you go the specialist route so you admit his uncle is not a specialist but he has enough surgical skills to perform a CS yet his skills can't repair an hernia, or simply reduce intracranial pressure?? when I argue with my engineer brother on how to repair our generator I do what you are doing I throw about lingo so he will think I know what I'm talking about, but the truth is deep down I know he knows infinitely more than I do if his uncle can perform a CS then he should be able to perform basic surgical procedures in many specialties |

Tbamo:Let's pray JOHESU and FG reach an agreement before march 10, but let's also pray God keeps me, you and our loved ones in good health whether or not an agreement is reached. I don't know you, but I love you enough to not wish you require medical attention in a federal govt owned hospital after march 10 if the government decides to reason like you that one group will affect the polity more 1 Like |

TheArchangel: To the italicised, absolutely. What you think is fact is only so in the environment you're in. Not universally. I would consider it negligence if a trained medic failed to investigate a private employer if qualified. Even more so in a country with so many quacks. That should be part of professional responsibility. In developed climes, the medical register is available online. In fact checking your docs qualification is normal. I even checked the qualification of an O & G who performed an elective cs on a relative. Even in a world class hospital. He came from a part of the world with reported cases of borrowed medical degrees. |

Re: JOHESU To Embark On Nationwide Strike by TheArchangel(f): 3:43pm On Feb 18, 2016 |
Tbamo:Those are average residents and RN salaries not attendings and specialist nurses salaries. The salaries for registered nurses are not based on the factors you quoted. Nurse practitioners crosses over to the thousand threshold and is based on varied factors too. The attending earns their keeps as they work hard for the pay and barely have time which cannot be liken to what's obtainable here. They are paid according to their inputs not based on an established rule as regards to what both NMA and JOHESU are fighting for. |
