MUSA YAHAYA FINALLY DEBUTS IN PORTUGAL Former Nigeria youth international Musa Yahaya has finally debuted in the league for his Portuguese second division side Portimonense as they beat Farense 1-0. Portimonense are fourth on the league table with 53 points from 32 games, while Farense are 18th on table with 37 points from 32 games. It's a big deal! Not just because he broke in but because he broke in as a defender. A 19-year old playing first team football for the Portuguese champions? Battling with such seasoned internationals like Bruno Indi of Holland, Miguel Layún of Mexico, Maxi Pereira of Uruguay as well as having the vastly experienced Iker Casillas barking out instructions from the goal post. enomakos: Then I can categorically state that he would be doing Nigerians a great disservice if he goes with 80% of that squad. Draw a starting 11 of Nigerian U23s doing well all over the world and u'll see that virtually none (except the goalie) of those CAF U23 would make the list. I dnt believe Siasia would do this. I believe he would select the best for us irrespective of whether they are "his boys" or not. 2 Likes |
