Abegi, The other youngsters are not in Nacho's league AT ALL!!!!!!!!!

Iheanacho's been ManCity's best player today by a million miles........ A pity that the some of the other youngsters wanted to showboat to make a statement..... But truth is, Iheanacho is hundreds of leagues above his fellow age-mates.

But Chelsea, coolu temper naaa!!!!

Victor Osimhen - Oliseh should pick him for Eagles says former Wolfsburg star

Saturday Feb 20, 2016. 12:31

Sensational Victor Osimhen ought to get his chance with the Super Eagles soon, according to former international Jonathan Akpoborie.

Osimhen, 17, has sorted out his future after he agreed to join top Bundesliga side Wolfsburg next year after he shone with both the Nigeria U17 and Olympic teams last year.

Akpoborie also played for Wolfsburg and said that the Volkswagen Arena is a perfect platform for Osimhen to horn his skills in Europe, just as he canvassed for the youngster’s inclusion to the Super Eagles.

“There is no doubt that Osimhen is a talent. He can develop into a great player,” said Akpoborie now a television pundit.

“Personally, I think a player like Osimhen can be given a first push into the Super Eagles even if he is not going to play now.

“Henry Nwosu, for instance, was given a push in the national team from St. Finbarrs College (Lagos) and he grabbed the opportunity, I think we can encourage more of these young players coming through.”

Nigeria'sDream Team know Rio Olympics foes April 14

Azubuike Okechukwu led Nigeria to win the U23 AFCON in Senegal and qualify for the Rio Olympics

Nigeria will know their first round opponents for this year’s Rio Olympics on April 14 at the famous Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

Dream Team VI, as the Nigeria Olympic team are known, will represent Africa alongside Algeria and South Africa.

Nigeria won the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Gold and were beaten by Argentina in the final of the 2008 Beijing Olympics in China.

Hosts Brazil and defending champions Mexico will be among the 16 teams to be drawn into four groups of the competition, which will be staged in August.

Only one spot is left in the men’s football event – Colombia and USA will play off next month to decide that final spot.

The tournament will be played in six Brazilian cities including Rio, Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Belo Horizonte.

NFF Rules IFO Etebo Oghenekaro Over Contract Dispute; Owed =N=6.3 Million By Warri Wolves

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands the Nigeria Football Federation has ruled in favour of Nigeria U23 international Etebo Oghenekaro over his contract dispute with Warri Wolves.

The Seasiders had claimed that the contract binding them with the Dream Team star ought to have expired in December 2016 but the player insisted that his deal ran out at the end of the 2015 season.

In January, the attacking midfielder had applied to the League Management Committee to issue him a clearance certificate in view of the fact that his contract with Warri Wolves has legally came to an end and the LMC had sent a letter signed by the Chief Operating Officer to the NFF clearing him as a free player.

But when the Portuguese club he signed for,CD Feirense, applied through their FA for his International Transfer Certificate, the NFF responded that he was still a bonafide player of Warri Wolves.

Based on Tuesday’s ruling, the Nigerian Federation can now send Etebo Oghenekaro’s ITC to Portugal which the Portuguese embassy here in Nigeria had requested for before issuing him a visa to join his new club.

Warri Wolves are still indebted to the midfielder to the tune of =N=6,319,992.00 (Six Million Three Hundred and Nineteen Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety Two Naira), being accrued salaries, bonuses and entitlements in the course of his expired contract.

Etebo Oghenekaro has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract withCD Feirense.

Ex- Stabaek Striker Chuma Anene Haunts Former Club

Chuma Anene scored his first goal of Amkar Perm’s winter training on Tuesday afternoon at the Jose Burgos Stadium against his former club Stabaek.

The former Norway U20 international spent the second half of the 2013 season at Stabæk on loan from Tippeligaen side Valerenga and scored 4 goals in 12 appearances in the second-tier.

Anene put Amkar Perm 2-0 up on the hour mark afterGeorgi Peev had opened scoring five minutes out of intermission.

He assisted the Red-Blackbeat Belarusian team Shakhtar in a scrimmage on Monday, lasting 61 minutes on the pitch before he was replaced.

This season, the striker, who has pledged his international future to Nigeria, has one goal to his name after eight appearances in the Russian Premier League.

Jack Wilshere Tips Alex Iwobi To Make The Grade At Arsenal

Arsenal’s England international Jack Wilshere believes Alex Iwobi can make the grade at the Londoners after he was promoted to the first team earlier this month.

The Nigeria international has already made a mark in the few games he has played in the Premier League this season and was one of the standout players in the Gunners ranks in their goalless draw with Hull City in the FA Cup last weekend.

Wilshere has revealed that he is ready to offer support to Iwobi just as he was mentored by Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri when he broke into Arsenal’s first team at the age of 16.

“Coming into a dressing room with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez can be scary for a young player,” Jack Wilshere told Arsenal’s Weekly Podcast.

“To be fair to Alex, he’s a good kid. He wants to learn. He’s got the right attitude in training and when he gets on the pitch he’s showing the fans what he can do.

“I don’t like to call it mentoring. Alex is 19, he’s not a kid. But I know what it’s like for him. I feel a responsibility to put him in the right direction, to answer his questions.”

Alex Iwobi trained with the Arsenal first team on Monday ahead of their Champions League meeting with Barcelona but is unlikely to make the 18-ma squad for the clash at the Emirates.

Revealed - World Exclusive : Manchester City Almost Passed Up Chance To Sign Kelechi Iheanacho After Failing His Medical

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Manchester City almost passed up the opportunity to sign ex-Golden Eaglet sensation Kelechi Iheanacho in December 2013.

For the first time ever, it can be revealed that the Taye Academy product failed a medical examination conducted in Spain after doctors discovered a serious injury he picked up at the Fifa Under 17s in the United Arab Emirates.

The Citizens brass were advised by specialists to take a gamble on the striker, stating that the ailment, a persistent groin injury, would be properly handled if the doctors instructions are followed and he is placed on a diet.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s injury did not require surgery, according to Manchester City’s doctors, but he was told to wear a cast during his rehabilitation.

At the start of his career with Manchester City, the 19-year-old continued to suffer a relapse of the injury and his availability for the Fifa Under 20 World Cup was seriously in doubt until he recovered days leading up to the start of the tourney in New Zealand.

The good news now is that the Manchester City number 72 is fully fit and can play four straight games without suffering a recurrence of the injury.

Manchester City Superkid Kelechi Iheanacho Poised To Make Champions League Bow

Kelechi Iheanacho could make his Champions League bow on Wednesday night in Manchester City’s clash with Dynamo Kiev at NSC Olimpiyskiy.

The Nigeria international traveled with the Manchester City squad to the Ukrainian capital and was amongst the players that had a feel of the stadium last night.

In the group stage, the 19-year-old Iheanacho did not have a taste of Champions League action as he was not registered for the tournament but was added to the roster when the winter transfer market came to an end following the injury sustained by Nasri.

Of the 21 City players that made the trip to Ukraine, only two are strikers in the shape of Sergio Aguero and Iheanacho and the likelihood of the Super Eagles young star getting game time today is very high.

The Taye Academy product has found the net in every single competition contested by City this minus the Champions League.

Siasia picks Ighalo for Rio Olympics

Eagles striker Ighalo (left)

Coach Samson Siasia has said he will pick Watford striker Odion Ighalo to score goals for him at the Rio Olympics in August.

The 26-year-old Ighalo will be one of three over-age stars Nigeria will pick for the summer Olympics.

“It is obvious that we will consider Odion because he is the only Super Eagles player playing and scoring goals in the Premier League,” Siasia told the local Sun newspaper.

“Everybody is looking at him and he is good boy, gentle and discipline.

“I can tell you that if he is in good shape when we want to go for the tournament, he will of course be one of the players we want to pick.

“We need somebody like him to score for us.”
Ighalo has scored 14 goals in the Premier League this season.

Incidentally, Siasia named the striker as his captain at the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup in Egypt.

Alampasu in line for Egypt double-header
By: George Akpayen

Dele Alampasu

Dele Alampasu is now in the running to earn a Nigeria call-up for the two Afcon qualifying matches against Egypt in March.

Nigeria head coach Sunday Oliseh hinted at the likely goalkeepers who will be called up for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.

The former Nigeria under-17 player was mentioned among four possible goalkeepers for the Afcon qualifiers.

However, Oliseh was quick to state that he is yet to name his roster for the matches against Egypt.

"We have Carl Ikeme, we have Alampasu, we have (Ikechukwu) Ezenwa there and we have Femi (Thomas). We have four to five choices in the goalkeeping area but we have to pick three. That is how I feel that department is.

"We can't name a team now as we have not finalised it. But we are on top of things and we are happy that most of the players have hit good form for their clubs and hopefully they will remain in such form for the game (against Egypt)," Oliseh told Brila FM.

Nigeria will play hosts to the Egyptians at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on March 25 before travelling to the North African nations for the return fixture of the Group G game in less than a week.

The Egyptians lead Group G of the Afcon qualification with six points, two more than the Nigerians while Tanzania and Chad occupy third and fourth places respectively.

Nigeria battle Brazil March 21-29

Know first round opponents on April 14

Nigeria’s Dream Team will face Brazil in a series of friendlies between March 21 and 29. This will be part of the build-up for the Nigeria Olympic team under coach Samson Siasia ahead of the Rio Olympics in August.

Siasia has already began compiling the names of players for the Brazil friendlies and he could call up players from Europe as those dates fall within the FIFA friendly windows, officials further informed.

In December, Dream Team VI won the U-23 AFCON in Senegal to qualify for the Olympics alongside Algeria and South Africa.

This year will make it 20 years since Nigeria made history by winning Olympic soccer Gold in Atlanta.

The country came close to repeating this feat at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

However, the Dream Team will know their first round opponents for this year’s Rio Olympics on April 14 at the iconic Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

The stadium’s auditorium will see the groups drawn for Rio 2016’s men’s and women’s football tournaments.

The 16 teams in the men’s tournament, including hosts Brazil and 2012 champions Mexico, will be drawn into four groups, and the 12 women’s teams, including hosts Brazil and 2012 champions USA, will be drawn into three groups.

Just one spot remains in the men’s tournament, with Colombia and USA playing off in March to complete the line-up. In the women’s tournament, the final five teams to qualify will all be known by 9 March 2016.

As well as Rio de Janeiro, the home of the 2016 Olympic Games, the five other host cities for the football tournaments (Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Manaus, Salvador and Sao Paulo) are eagerly awaiting the draw to see who they will welcome to their regions. Each of the co-host cities are keen to replicate the remarkable hospitality shown during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Awoniyi. That guy is nt an U23 material to me. He should b left to focus on his club career and then feature at d next U20 WC and develop along with Osimhen, K Nwakali, Chukwueze, Chidera Eze, Awaziem, Sadiq Umar and co. Awoniyi IMHO opinion is nt even among our top 5 U23 CF.

I would personally raise questions if Awoniyi and Osimhem are invited ahead of Isaac Success, Imoh Ezekiel, Aaron Samuel, Chisom Chikatara and Junior Ajayi.

Siasia by now should know players he wants to invite for d Olympics. We should expect to c @ least 3 of the 5 strikers i listed above in that Brazil friendly.

Bros, you don come again oooo. So, you mean Chisom is ahead of Sadiq Umar huh?

See my brother. Age and maturity play a vital role in a player's performance. I cannot tell u straight away hu is better btw Chikatara and Sadiq Umar bc of so many reasons. One thing u guys need to understand is d more matured a player is the more his ability to adapt into d frame of things.

U saw how physical and tight defenses were at d CHAN; do u think players like Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi and Sadiq Umar would have found it easy with those defenses? Sadiq Umar may b more talented than Chikatara bt Chikatara would b more ready to face d U23 competition than Sadiq.

Sadiq, Osimhem, Ezeh & Awoniyi are all talented young players bt i personally feel they may nt b able to face d U23 challenge. We have U20 qualifiers coming up and we need them in the U20 camp. By 2020 Olympics they would have been fully matured U23 players.

We are nt lacking quality fire power from our players hu are aged 20-23. Siasia has even announced Ighalo as part of his Olympic plans and dat even makes it more competitive.

Then another thing is u may believe bc player A plays in Europe and Player B players in Nigeria then player A is authomatically better dan player B. It does nt often follow that way when it comes to young players. Sadiq may have had d opportunity early enough and Chikatara may nt have had dat opportunity.

Something of this nature sparked off an earlier argument btw me and some pple here abt Junior Ajayi vs Taiwo Awoniyi.

Mikel has to tell me he wants to go to Olympics - Siasia

Mikel

Chelsea star Mikel Obi will have to first tell coach Samson Siasia he wishes to feature at the Rio Olympics before he would be considered for the summer games.

The 28-year-old midfielder could debut at the Olympics in Brazil in August as an over-age player after he missed out on the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Siasia said: “As for Mikel, if he specifically comes to me to request I include him in my team, I will reason. I will ask him if he really wants to play for the team.

“I must be sure of his mission.”

The coach had refused to pick Mikel for the Beijing Olympics after the player stayed away from the qualifying matches.

Siasia further said he will be definite about the three over-age players he will name for the Rio Olympics when it is closer to the competition.

“I have some players I am thinking about, but the truth is that since the tournament is still six months away, we have to also be cautious of the players’ form. We cannot pick players who are in form now only for them to lose form in August,” he explained.

Finland Star Eremenko : Aaron Samuel Is A Monster

CSKA midfielder Roman Eremenko has compared new recruit Aaron Samuel to ex-Zenith St Petersburg striker José Salomón Rondón , who is currently on the books of West Brom in England.

The Finland star has tipped Samuel to shine in the Russian Premier League due to his playing style and physical attributes.

“Olanare - the most powerful man in the truest sense . Yes, he needs time to adapt , but the energy from Aaron is crazy , just a monster !

“He something reminds me of Rondon . God made Olanare a carbon copy of Rondon,”says Roman Eremenko to championat.com.

Aaron Samuel will compete with fellow Super Eagles frontman Ahmed Musa for a spot in CSKA Moscow’s attack.

Bros, have you forgotten Sadiq Umar scored goals in a league that believes in defensive formation. What do you have to say about that?

U know since when Chikatara has been scoring goals for Abia warriors in d NPFL? Yes NPFL. Watch an NPFL game and know y games usually end in 0-0, 1-0 or 1-1. grin

U know how difficult African defenses are? Ask d likes of Yaya Toure, Javinho, Bony, Andre Ayew and co.

Sadiq Umar would be better utilized in U20 team. His chances are slim with d U23 except he does spectacular things from now till d end of d season. Even at U20 he still has Taiwo Awoniyi, Chidera Ezeh, and Victor Osihmen and others to contend with. smiley
