N1.6m jare. Economy tickets.

Yes dear. If you buy dollar from aboki and credit your domiciliary account, you can then wire it to the account abroad. They will charge you for Telex fee about 4k and maybe another 0.5percent of the transfer amount plus VAT.

However, it cheaper to send via moneygram or western union to someone in the states who can then credit your account.

hardeymijuh:

Did you say N16M or N1.6M? I am leaving my 2 kids behind ooo, cant afford the ticket prices for all of us.
Summer tickets may skyrocket from April/May, so you need to strategize well.

Pls Is there any way to transfer money to a US account from naija? I need to fund my dollar account.

You will get your zero balance by email and in the mail as well follow up with Alice

When you paid (before or after) is irrelevant

Haha!

We experienced the same thing then. I was so sad cos I used them for my first and I was looking forward to it again. When I saw the $30,000 I almost cried.

Ported to Texas Presbyterian too but I'll still check when I get there this month because Baylor is amazing and I can't get over it. $3,750 to $30,000. How?

Lol

woow, urs was expensive even, we paid $3k for everything, although some funny little charges trickled in after we got the zero balance letter, i just went ahead to pay, being good citizen...... lol

ur correct the 'hotel' is amazing, you wont even realize ur in a hospital, mind blowing

will be going in april, and if i hear 30k, will have a good seat in presby, now am on hunt for pta, very crazy

I've had to apply for both my mum and mum in law. In both cases, assisting me was the purpose.

Contact was Dr F. Burden of proof were my documents.

sugah:
Please I need help from anyone that had to apply for Visa for their mom for childbirth (help) purpose.
Did you state in the application that the purpose of the trip is for help with childbirth?
Did you have to contact the hospital prior to filling the DS160 application form? As part of burden of proof.
Im yet to send my change of intent letter, would that be a problem? Even though I got the visa for vacation last year and I have used it for the purpose.

@ennyo use uber , discharge him at every drop off and then call another one when you are through. Tips for cheap uber ride before you call uber , Google the closet grocery store or shopping mall before calling them so you can be using less than 20-30 mins for rides . Uber is cheaper and better .

If you say Uber is expensive then you haven't tried Yellow cabs. They are ridiculously expensive. I almost cried when I was charged 70 dollars for a 36mins drive. I used Uber back to the same destination and I was charged 25 dollars.

Uber is very reasonable ooo.

Uber is better than yellow cab.
Yes yellow cab have something that will be taking the reading as you ride, you will sit down and watch how your money will be increasing rapidly grin and to think some of the drivers are just something else, they will b so slow so the traffic light will be red angryand even while waiting for traffic light th turn green the meter will be reading.
During my last journey, I didn't even enter yellow cab for once, I used uber once for a $5 trip, all my plenty other waka n by bus apart from the normal soulcare transport waka. I saved a whole lot unlike my first missionary journey, yellow cab ate up all my money

There are buses but you can't compare it with UK. it depends on where you are as the buses don't ply every where. Where I stayed, there was a bus stop just in front of d house. So my name turned to jegede, cos I waka almost the whole of Houston lol.

I thought I only took a few days off, I came back to see I was 40+ pages behind. See me reading diligently like it was my first attempt at going to the abroad for baby waka. This thread is addictive, Walahi!

How are you @chijiuche? I wish you and your family peace at this time.

Congrats @onlineise. Your experience made a mockery of the anxiety I had for you, I am glad.

@Firsttymum, abi @secondandthirdtymum (I have a theory on people who get in a family way shortly after having a baby). Congrats, assuming it's true. And if not, congrats still

Oakbend jacking up they price will affect them in the long run. If all the Nigerian families take their money elsewhere, I'm sure their bottom line will take a hit.

Please don't put your baby's SSN in somebody else's custody please. It is illegal and you're putting your child at risk.

Congrats to everyone with good news and best wishes to everyone awaiting theirs. I wish my arms were longer so I could hug you all at the same time.
