The story made Frontpage on the 11th of April and that was when I started reading it! I was able to catch-up in two weeks... It took me sleepless nights too... But I didn't bother thinking I'd read the story to the end! I was really disappointed when I saw it wasn't finished yet! Lmao!



Btw, it's a very beautiful story with extreme suspense! I even told my friends about it and they felt same way too!

a friend told me about the story too,I would have checked the last page before investing my time to read it, I don't see why it should take this long to finish a story,I feel like I just wasted my time, I for one.hate waiting for updates that's why I only go for stories where the op regularly updates or the story is already finished

Jane poured herself a glass from the bottle of water before her,she felt better after securing a comfortable booth to seat while waiting for her friends.she pondered over the issues that were troubling her poor mind.
Honestly,her husband's plea were irresistible,but she couldn't bear to see him raise his hands on her again,this new Jacob was so unlike the man she married.She was shedding so much weight these days.
She let her mind drift towards her store,sales were tripple the usual because of the approaching Christmas festival.
She glanced up in time to see Ajoke wobbling towards her."Please sit down." She said helping her to the seat in front of her."Oh mine,you're so heavy."
"Ahh my dear,I am." She smiled adjusting in her sit."How are you too? And where is Cynthia?"
"I am fine o,and Cynthia is on her way too."Jane poured Ajoke water from the bottle,Ajoke accepted and gulped it down at once.
"How is Engineer?"
"My husband is fine and kicking."
"Jacob nko?"
"He's there o"
"How are the children?"
"Fine too."
"And the twins?"
"They're good too."
There was a beep from Jane's phone,it was Cynthia asking where they were seated."We're at the far end of the restaurant,right hand side."
Jane saw Cynthia walking towards them,she wondered why her friend hadn't opted for modelling,with those long straight legs.
"Good afternoon ladies." She said dropping her bag and making herself comfortable.A waiter walked smartly towards them in a sky blue shirt neatly tucked in his black pants,and shiny black shoes.
His face was adorned with a flattering smile,he was a young man in his early twenties."Good afternoon ma's" he spoke fluently."You're welcome to Spicy N Tasty,here is our menu." He handed them three cards.
The name on his tag read Emeka Ono,he stood aside while the women made their choices.He accepted the cards with a bow and went away.
"What kept you?" Ajoke asked.
"Traffic jam now,this is Lagos Nigeria." She laughed.
"I like this your blouse o." Jane said.
"Jaiye bought it when he travelled to Dubai last week." She beamed happily.
"I envy you my dear." Ajoke laughed."My husband doesn't have time for that,he prefers to give me the money to go shopping."
"How's the family?"
"We're fine o,how about you?" Ajoke asked.
"Just doing good my sister.You are heavy ."Cynthia said."See your stomach." She laughed just in time when their food arrived.The waiter set the dishes,and returned with their drinks and glasses."Enjoy your meal." He smiled before walking away.
Cynthia blessed the food,and they began to eat,they were quiet at first before Cynthia broke the silence."Guess what ladies?"
"What?" Ajoke and Jane asked in unison.
"Guess na."
"No,you tell us." Ajoke said.
"I'm pregnant."
"Oh" Jane exclaimed.
"Congratulations dear." Ajoke said.
"I and my husband are excited,I'll start showing soon,and I can't wait to craddle one of those little angels again." She smiled heartily,using her knife to cut a part of the chicken,she picked the piece with her fork and ate.
Jane was happy for her friend,but she envied her.She had always wanted another child but her husband would not hear it.Getting preggy was the last thing in her list as she had enough in her plate already.She really wanted to share her plight with her friends,but getting to it was an issue.
"Christmas is around the corner." She said instead.
"Yes,forty days away,I'm due nextweek." She whispered to her friends.
"Great."Cynthia bubbled.
Jane's phone was ringing,she hushed her friends to keep their voice down,while she picked her call."I'm fine." She laughed into the mouthpiece.
"And the family?" Chuks voice boomed over the phone.
Jane smiled,"We're doing fine,thanks for the other day."
"I have told you to stop thanking me,anyone would have done the same,but if you insist on showing your gratitude,how about lunch next weekend." He asked.
"Oh...em....its okay." She answered without thinking.
"Awwh my daughter will be so happy to meet you,you can come with your kids too."He said.
"There's no problem."
"Alright,my regards to your family,bye for now." Jane pressed the end button and dropped her phone.
There was an awkward silence at the table,"Now what's with the silence?" She questioned.
"Nothing."Cynthia answered.
"Well,that smile on your face while you held that conversation is priceless,is that a crush?" Ajoke asked straight up."Or an admirer?"
"You this woman,take your time o,crush? I'm a married woman please." Jane added jokingly,while fumbling with the hem of her blouse.
"Anyway,that was a friend,he's a doc."
"And?"
"And nothing,just invited I and the kids for lunch with his daughter."
"Is he divorced?"
"No, widowed."
"And Jacob is not going to mind?"
"We're having issues." Jane blurted.
Both women dropped their cutleries and stared at her.
"Issues?"Ajoke asked.
"Yes."
"Look,you can talk to us,a problem shared is half solved." Cynthia added.
Jane wondered what part she was going to share,she drank some water,folded her hands on her laps and looked at her friends.
"He's having anger issue,and he is venting it on me,we quarell a lot these days."She tried to explain carefully withholding the beating part.
"Are you sure you're not doing something to get him angry,because the Jacob I know,is everything a woman needs in a man." Cynthia said.
Ajoke held her friends hand,"Everything is going to be fine,take everything to God in prayer,we all know your husband is a good man,and you're a good person,don't give the devil a chance in your family my dear."
"I won't,thanks."Jane murmured.She didn't feel any better from their responses.This was her issue and she would trash it as such.
"I'll be travelling to Dubai to do some christmas shopping for my family." Cynthia said to lighten the atmosphere.
"That's good,how are preparations for the wedding?" Ajoke asked.
Jane smiled,"We're pushing it,the samples for the aso-ebi is ready and every other thing is in place."
"That's some good news to the ears,I'll send the money to your account,so when should I be expecting my package?" Ajoke asked.
"By tomorrow in the afternoon." Jane answered,they finished their meals and drinks before leaving.

"What is the matter again?" Hannah asked clearing the table after their dinner of semovita and egusi soup."Ehen...one of you had better talk now." She left the sitting room for the kitchen and returned some minutes later.
She sat on the three seater couch,and looked at her friends who were both playing dumb."You girls should just talk now,whatever it is,let's settle it please." She pleaded softly.
Toun let out a slow long hiss and adjusted in her seat,"Please ask your dearest Rekia,she is the one who has got some explanations to give."
"Rekia,what is the matter?" Hannah asked.
Rekia's eyes were heavy and she looked tired,and a sad gloom hung over her face."Its nothing."
Toun got up in fury and charged towards Rekia,thanks to Hannah's timely intervention,she hung Toun's hand in mid air."Toun please respect yourself and stop being childish,ah ah what's the meaning of this now?" Hannah chided her friend.
"Didn't you hear her? She said its nothing,like its nothing for real hhhm,tell me Hannah,is it truly nothing for her to be misleading my brother?please ask her for me." Toun fumed pacing about.
Now Hannah was getting a clearer picture."What do you mean about Rekia misleading your brother?"
"Ask Rekia abeg."
"Rekia please what's the matter." Hannah asked.
"I am having an affair with Adekunle." She stated innocently making it sound like Hannah had not been aware of the whole issue from start.
"Oh no,tell me you're joking."Hannah said covering her mouth with her left palm.
"Can you now see what I am talking about,she wants to ruin his life,I didn't even know it was my brother that she had been blabbering about these past weeks."Toun said.
"Okay calm down."
"I am calm o." Toun returned to her seat.
"Rekia is this a two weeks thing or are you serious with him?" Hannah said starring at her friend.
Rekia closed her eyes,bit her lips and then opened her eyes again."I love him." A single tear glided down the side of her face.
"Hmm,what did I hear you right? You love him,Are you out of your freaking mind,what has come over you,see this common hausa girl o,you better wake up from your slumber,because the next time I smell you a mile to my brother,I will beat the hell out of you." Toun threatened angrily.
Hannah looked on confused,"I don't think you should be saying that,what we should establish is if Adekunle is also in love her,it could be a mutual thing."
"To hell with mutual,this girl has brainwashed my brother,and I am having none of it,I swear down you will live to regret the first day you set eyes on him." Toun hissed,got up and walked out of the sitting room slamming the door hard.
There was an awkward silence in the air that filled the room,"Hmmmm" Hannah sighed.
"How did she find out?" Hannah crossed over to sit by Rekia.
With tears filled eyes,she narrated all that happened to Hannah.
Hannah patted her shoulders,"You should have been more careful,eh I warned you about this,now look at what is happening."
"She said she would be visiting her mum,didn't know she would be returning early." Rekia explained.
"Toun is extremely angry with you,If I say that I know a way out,I am lieing to you."
"What am I going to do,what I know for sure is that,I am not going to give him up,not without a fight." Rekia said wiping her face with the back of her palms.
Hannah squeezed Rekia's palm,"Don't start anything messy,let's take it step by step.The first thing I want to know is,is Adekunle also in love with you?"
"Yes,he loves me too."
"Is he ready to stand for you in front of the world?"
"He promised."
"And have you told him?"
Rekia shaked her head.
"You should tell him,that's the deciding factor."
"Do you think that's why Toun doesn't want me to be with him."
"I'm sorry,but that's the only reason I can think of."
"Ooh talk abot true friends." Rekia bit her lips,"Do you think she will tell him."
"I don't think so,that's why I insist that you keep him in the know,that's only when we can know what next to do."
Rekia had a call,"Its him." She whispered.
Hannah watched as beautiful rays of light settled into those eyes of Rekia's.This must be love.she concluded.As Rekia mouthed the words 'I love you too.' Hannah smiled.
"Rekia please I want you to be patient with Toun,I believe she'll come around."
Rekia embraced Hannah,"You've been more than a friend to me,you're the sister I never had,thanks for being here for me."
"You're welcome." Hannah patted her back.As sudden darkness came over the house.The generator had just gone off.No petrol.

STRESSED OUT was the only word that fitted the description of how she felt,as she got home.She was drained of energy,work had been tedious with so many demand for their market.Christmas was still far away but it was beginning to take its toil.And she had gone to see her mother,concerning Hannah's wedding,and they talked far into the afternoon.
"Welcome welcome welcome." The children shouted rushing out to greet her.
"Welcome mummy."
"How are you my babies?" She smiled dropping her handbag on the sofa."How was school today?"
"School was fine,I came first in our class test today." Adam said proudly.
Jane picked him up,"That's my big boy." She tickled him and laughed out.
"Mummy I came second." Eve stood there unhappy.
"Don't worry,next time you'll come first." She embraced her daughter.
"Welcome ma." Aisha greeted her coming into the sitting room.She had a bag slung across her shoulder.she had passed her Waec and was preparing for Jamb.
"How are you,are you just coming back from your lesson?" She asked glancing at the wall clock.
"Yes ma."
"Alright,go and drop your bag and then come back."
"Okay ma." She curtsied and left.
"Have my babies eaten?"
"Yes mummy,I had cornflakes with milk,but Adam took goldenmorn with milk."
"That's good,right now mummy is tired,I went to see grandmama Bibi,and mummy is also hungry." She told her kids.
"Sorry mummy." Eve said,"Let me help you carry your bag."
She carried Jane's bag as they climbed the stairs up to their parents bedroom.
"Mummy don't worry when I grow big,I'll carry you up the stairs." Adam boasted and they all laughed.
It was much later,after dinner that she began to get worried that Jacob was unusually late.She read the kids their bed time story and played with them till they slept off.She covered them up.
She lingered for a minute,watching the children sleep peacefully unaware of the issues their parent were battling.She wished that she was a child once again.
After one final look,she closed the door and went into the sitting room.
"Nnamdi?" She called.
"Ma"
"Is your oga back?"
"No."He shook his head.
"Okay,bring me some of those potatoe pancakes you made this evening and a glass of milk." She said putting on the flat screen tv.she changed channels and finally decided to watch Zee world.
Nnamdi dropped the tray by her,and she picked a piece of the pancake,she bite a part and munched it.It was tasty and she enjoyed it.
It was some minutes past nine when she decided to forget her ego and call her husband's phone.She listened as the network provider relayed to her that his phone had been switched off,after several trials she put off the tv,because she was feeling sleepy already.
She went up to her room,and got in bed.she slept off almost immediately.It must have been over an hour after when she woke up,the noise of his entry must have woken her.She saw her husband coming in,he staggered and it was obvious that he was drunk.
"Baby baby baby." He said inaudibly coming towards her.
"I love my baby,my baby loves me." He sang this time.
"Baby baby baby,I love my baby,my baby loves me,I want my baby." He sang louder falling by her.
"Are you okay?" She asked getting out of bed to help him up.
"I want you." He whispered in her ears.she jerked his hands away.
"Come to me baby." He laughed out loud,grabbing her by the waist."I miss you,I miss your body,I want to make love to you."
Jane was furious with the way he was handling her,"Not tonight please."
"Now,kiss me." He ordered her.
Jane tried to hid her face away from him.
"Don't play games,I know you want me too." He pulled her towards the bed.
Jane was tired,she didn't have the strength to push him away.The thought of him coming into her,filled her heart with bitterness.
She fell on the bed with a thud,and he pulled off her robe and began to kiss her mouth hungrily and with anger.Against her wish she laid down her body on the slaughter slab as a sacrifice to appease his lordship's anger.

Kelvin drove slowly as he watched the woman sleeping beside him.He was glad that they were finally going to be married.He couldn't wait to take her home as his wife.
She was obviously troubled,he thought to himself.He had gone to pick her from work as her car had a mechanical fault.And she had fallen asleep ten minutes into their drive which was unusual.He placed his palms on her forehead.Her temperature was okay.
He was almost at her place,when she woke up."Did you dream about me?" He asked.
She smiled and sat up.
"Tell me please."
"No"
Kelvin pretended to be angry.
"Just kidding you,I dreamt about you."She said.
Kelvin smiled,"That's better."
"I am tired."
"That's because you've been worrying yourself for nothing."
How did he know I was worried? She thought to herself.
"I am not worried." She countered.
"You're a bad liar." He teased her."He used his right hand to hold her hand,"Whatever it is,you can confide in me,but if you're not willing to share,I'll let it pass." He winked at her.
"Its Rekia."
"What about her?"
"She's having an affair with Adekunle."
Toun paused to let the effect sink in him.
"Wait,Rekia and Adekunle are having an affair,to which you're not pleased with from the countenance on your face." He said.
"Yes."
"Holy shit."
"Just imagine it."
"So what's the point,why are you worried,if two consenting adult are having an affair?"
"She is older than him."
"Adekunle doesn't seem to mind,if truly he's dating her."
"I mind."
Kelvin concentrated on his driving,swearing after a bike man who jumped into his lane out of no where.
"Let them be." He said finally.
"What did you just say?"
"Leave them alone dear."
"You don't understand." She bit her lips.
"Is there more to the story?" He questioned as he brought the car to a halt right in front of her house.
"You can't understand."
He pecked her on the cheeks,"Help me understand my dear."
"I just can't allow it."
"Stop getting worked up over something that might be an infatuation in the end,your brother is not a teenager,he knows what he is getting himself into." He told her.
If only he knew what was behind it,she thought to herself.
"Alright thank you." She forced a smile.
"How do you intend to get to work tomorrow?"
"I'll make use of public transport."
"Should I come and pick you?"
"No,do you want to come in?"
"No,its late,let me be on my way."
Kelvin got down to open the door for her to go down,he pecked her on the cheeks,got into the car and drove off.
Why did everybody think she was over reacting,no,its because they only know half of the story.This battle was hers to fight.She had let them make other decisions because she was away and now that she was back,she wouldn't sit and watch her brother fall into a ditch.She marched inside the gate,clutching her bag too hard.

Brooding had become the other of the day for Rekia,she ate little.Her heart was heavy.The people she expected to support her were standing as stumbling block on her way.
She had no one to explain her plight to,she was alone in this world.Adekunle had brought so much joy into her life within a short period of time and Adetoun was threatening that happiness big time.
Her phone rang,she knew who it was.The time was quater past twelve,and Adekunle calls her by that time,which happened to be his lunch break.
"Hello." She said cradling the phone to her ear.
"Hello sweetheart,how are you doing today?" He asked happily.
"I'm good."
"You missing me?"
"Yes."
"I'll drop by after work."
"Please don't." She pleaded.
"Why,is my sister giving you any trouble there?"
"Not at all,she's just cool."
"Rekia talk to me."
"Kunle please I'm fine." She snapped at him.
There was a pause,and then his voice came over."Its alright,stay cool for me,I'll call you later,I love you."
Rekia dropped the phone and held her head,it was aching.

Preparations were in earnest towards Hannah's wedding coming up by the weekend.Aso ebi had been sold to all those concerned.Friends,families and well wishers looked forward to that day.
Most of her bridal accessories were shopped for at Dubai,with Rekia's assistance.
Hannah and Adegoroye had written their own vows,and they were through with their marriage counselling.Her pre wedding pictures had put up on her facebook page with over 300likes from her friends.
Her bridal gown hung in her wardrobe,and everything was just in place for the d-day.
Her major concern was Adetoun who always found a way to quarel with Rekia,no matter how much the latter avoided her.
Rekia no longer ate with them at the dinning,she preferred the coffers of her room.it was exactly three days to her wedding when Toun as routine started one of those her fights.
Hannah herself was furious as they almost blew down the house,"Adetoun please stop all this." She had screamed at Toun.
"So you are now taking sides with her right?"
"Toun please grow up,and stop fighting Rekia,we're supposed to rally round her not expose her to the world." Hannah replied.
Toun continued to tap her legs,"Then tell her not to come near my brother again,if not,I will surprise the two of you."
Like a blow to the sides of her head,Rekia charged towards Toun,"What will you do?"Her eyes spitting black fire.
"I will do everything,I'll let the cat out of the bag,I will."
"You won't dare." Rekia screamed back at her.
"Oh no,you two should stop." Hannah cried.
"Rekia you have dared me,and I will deal with you,trust me I will,my brother will see you and take to his heels." Toun shouted at the top of her voice.
"Adetoun are you out of your mind?"Hannah was crying."Please don't do something you will regret for the rest of your life,please." She pleaded.
"Were you not here when she was daring me,what did you do?ehen."
"Fine,you're no longer my chief bridesmaid,and Rekia I don't want to see you at my wedding." Hannah spat and walked out.
Toun sat down and so did Rekia.Rekia followed Hannah,but she refused to open her door.
They all slept that night,not much later the next day,it was afternoon yet Hannah had not come out of her room.
Rekia rushed to call Toun,"Hannah has not come out of her room all day." She said.
"Please get out of this place."Toun hissed before getting up.
They knocked and knocked but there was no response,they were beginning to get afraid now.
"Let's break down the door."Toun suggested.
"I'll get the hammer." Rekia volunteered.
As the hammer landed heavily on the door latch,there was a loud laughter from the room.And Hannah came out.
"What kind of joke is that?" Toun said dropping the hammer on the floor.
"I just want you to tolerate each other,if not for anything,at least for my wedding,look ,after the wedding,we'll settle down and solve this issue." Hannah pleaded softly.
"As long as you'll let me remain your chief bridesmaid."
"You're welcome,what kind of wedding would I have without the two of you." Hannah embraced Toun first and then Rekia.

Jane prepared the kids,and their box,they were leaving for her mum's house where the engagement party would take place on Friday.
It was Thursday and she was very excited for her sister.she had her well tailored iro and buba with matching gele and shoes sitting gallantly in her box and everything was in place.
Eve would be the little bride,and her white flowery gown and been tailored to fit her,her hair was newly made that afternoon.
Her husband would join them on friday morning.
She was taking Aisha with her,and her own dress was made too.Nnamdi would come to the wedding on Saturday and then return home after the reception.
"Hello" she picked her phone.it was the caterer.
"Good afternoon ma,I want to ask what time the engagement would start."
Jane gave her the necessary details,since they had all gone through the menu before.Her sister-in-law would be bringing the cake.
Her phone rang again,"Ahh what did you forget to ask?" She said.
"Its Ajoke."
"Ajoke,I didn't check the caller ID "
"I just put to bed this morning,a beautiful baby girl."
"Congratulations darling."
"Thanks dear,seems I'm going to miss Hannah's wedding." She said sadly.
"Don't worry,we all understand,I'll inform Cynthia for you,please don't over work yourself for me,and take care of the baby." Jane said happily.
Jane told the children and they were happy too.
The driver came in to inform her that the car was ready,he packed their boxes and they all got into the car.

All way led to the church where the couple were being joined together as man and wife,the church programme ended by 12pm,the couple were driven to the reception.
Where everyone was waiting for them,it was a beautiful ceremony.
Hannah was glowing beautifully in her flowing gown,while her husband was adorned in a white suit.he looked breathtaking,and they were a lovely sight to behold.
They had their first meal as couples,danced and received gift from well wishers.The couple were flown to Abuja for their honeymoon.
Their friends and well wishers ate to satisfaction,and sourveniers were received from families and colleagues.Everyone danced happily as the reception party came to an end.
Biyisi beamed with happiness,her daughter was successfully married to her hearthrob.Kenneth and his children were there too.Funmi and Jackie were there too.
Jane and Adetoun and Rekia were there,Kelvin was there with two of his friends,Adekunle was there,he had introduced Rekia to Jacob,Jane,Biyisi as his girlfriend,if any of them where displeased,no one uttered any negative word,,Adeola was also in attendance.
Jacob,Jaiye,Paul and another of their friend was in attendance.Everybody seemed to be feeling the joyful vibes except Adetoun,as she continued to monitor Adekunle's every movement.
It was some minutes past five and most of the well wishers had gone,only their family and friends were there.From where she sat with Kelvin,she saw Rekia sitting by Adekunle and Adeola.And it seemed that Adeola was happy to see Rekia together with her brother.
Kelvin had caught her starring at Rekia twice.He sipped his drink happily.Until he noticed that Adetoun was drinking too much.He sent her a message on her phone,which she ignored and refilled her glass.
"You're drinking too much." Kelvin cautioned her,whispering into her ears stylishly.
Adetoun merely smiled at him and refilled her glass again,Kelvin grabbed the drink before she could lift it to her mouth,it almost spilled on his buba.
"Be careful." He warned her.
Rekia and Adekunle who were not aware of what was going on,laughed happily.
Adetoun got up angrily,and walked towards Rekia.
"You again."
Rekia looked up surprised.
"Adetoun please don't create a scene." Adekunle said to her.
Kelvin went to join her,"Please excuse me." He said pulling her outside,but she was adamant.
"Leave my younger brother alone." She said,her voice getting loud,as others looked towards them.
Adekunle got up,and held Rekia's hand,he led her outside towards his car.
Adetoun followed them,with Kelvin after her heels.Jacob and Jane also came out to see what's going on.
"Come back here." Toun shouted,she was quite tipsy.
Adekunle confronted her,"Please stop embarrassing yourself." He replied her.
"What's happening here?" Jacob questioned.
"Nothing sir." Kelvin anwsered quickly.

Its very possible, she has a very rare condition :Mayer-Rockitansky-Kuster-Hauser's Syndrome MRKH and a hole can still be made in the vaginal area through surgery or dilation but she has no womb and cannot get pregnant but can adopt....also it means she has not been having her periods because there is no womb or fallopian tube.....
