Congrats!

The POE wahala has reached UK sef. When I went to the UK with my daughter two weeks ago, POE was not a breeze cos POE officer saw my daughter's American passport.

She asked why I went to give birth in the US, why I gave birth on a B1/B2 visa, if I paid my bills...am I very sure I paid my bills, if UK was also giving passport just becos baby is born there will I also come to UK to birth, that she thought US has stopped giving passport just cos baby was born there bla bla bla. I just taya!! Finally sha, she stamped us in with bad eye. In my mind I was like"who sent you this one o, oversabi".

Abi we should start taking receipts when travelling to UK too? *eyesrolling* *longhiss*
Hello good people. In the spirit of giving back to the thread, got into the USA on Tuesday through BOSTON poe. My daughter has been strong hence looking posting. Journey was very tiring with a 16 month old daughter, extra active. Got into Boston at after 8, long queue, nobody look Belle move us forward. Waited for our turn while praying. Got to our turn.
Was asked if I had gotten any hospital, I said yes, officer asked if I made any payment, I said no that the hospital insisted I come in before making any payment. He kept asking why we didn't pay. I informed him that when I insisted on paying, the option they gave me wasn't available in Nigeria (electronic cheque). I also informed him that I sent funds to my sister and came with cash. The guy wasn't convinced. He stamped hubby and daughter in and sent me for secondary inspection.

XX01, you for wait small before booking that ticket because by September ticket prices drops drastically till about December or January, secondly PTA is per quarter, nobody will give you pta until the quarter you are travelling this quarter ends June another begins July and ends September, basically they now attend according to how close your travel date is,
You are like me sha, like planning ahead cheesy cheesy , on a more serious note ticket prices drop from last week in August and you'll be surprised.

I know but i am hedging against forex fluctuations. I know that government will soon introduce flexible exchange rate which is just a fancy way of pegging the rate at 285 to a dollar. I thought of the risk of waiting till September versus buying now. I got Emirates at 329k. The risk seemed too high for me to take as forex is so volatile.

As for PTA, i can get some from my husband's bank now as per staff. Mine will wait till next quarter but you need a ticket to buy it so speed is everything.

Is very ok to say she is going for childbirth with proofs that you can pay ur bills without accepting any medicaid. Go through the thread, giving birth in the US is not illegal. Goodluck and ensure u come back to share your transcript in the spirit of giving back.

Please i want to know if it is ok to say that she is going for childbirth or rather to say she is going for a visit because we have a family member that wants to send us invitation letter.

Please any one that have passed through the US interview at the embassey recently should please help me out with advice.
Thanks.
My sister, congratulations dear and may your babies bring you joy. Now, don't panic so much over NICU bills, the most important thing is that they are alive and in good hands. I totally understand how you feel because I have been there.

You need to be strong for yourself and your babies because you all would need you , especially when they come home from the hospital.

If you need any support, feel free to pm me. I would be more than happy to help you.

@nogen thanks a bunch. Can I get ur email address. Am abit confused on somethings. Or u could email me temy4u@Hotmail.com. really appreciate.

Na wa ooo this 21st century we still have so much debate on the mode of giving birth. I think we need more enlightenment on issues like this in order to prevent some of this avoidable death I read an article where WHO said Nigeria is one of the countries with the highest maternal mortality rate Why Why and Why?

As women we should learn to use our common sense even when exercising faith I had an in law who was pregnant with her second child and midway developed high BP she was admitted and the doctors tried to control the BP to no avail they were left with no other option than to terminate the pregnancy in order to safe her life but unfortunately she refused and got herself discharged against doctor's advice in fact she signed the document herself she got back home and 2 days latter she had a fit and by the time she was rushed to the hospital she was dead.
My sisters guess what? Barely a year after her husband remarried and the lady started giving birth like rabbit. Lobatan!!!! Who lose?

Sometimes I'm amazed when I hear women (even on this thread) leaving Nigeria and going all the way to the US only to go and be looking for VBAC friendly Doctor with touch light I've found out that 75% of them end up with an emergency CS even after they were assured of a VBAC and end up paying more for an emergency CS. Imagin in this Buhari economy with our hard gotten dollars

I was at my tailor's 2 days ago and she was telling me of how her neighbour who just had a set of twins like me and she is so happy for her the only thing she doesn't like is that she had a CS I was like so what!! She doesn't know that I had a CS too.and she went on to say that ppl who do CS end up with a big tommy because they are not allowed to press it after birth see me see Nija ooo.what of all the oyinbos with CS and you will think they never get belle before.

Women please let's add common sense to our faith to save our lives and that of our unborn babies we shall not die before our time and we will not be replaced. We will all eat the fruit of our labour

Shuo !?!
Which one is big belle again, when your children are 'surrounding your table'?? Okay nah!!!
In truth, big belly after birth is caused by a condition called Diastasis Recti (Google it) and happens to a percentage of women of all races regardless of how they birthed.
Whether VD, CS, VBAC, even VD after VD....

I know many CS mums with washboard stomachs and VD mums with big belly...
Old wives tales every corner... grin grin

Let us not also go to the extreme of shaming people that don't want CS especially a repeat CS. As there are several reasons why a CS is necessary, there are several reasons why a repeat CS is unnecessary. As long as it's not against medical advice, i think there is no cause for alarm.

@ all, please need advice. Everybody is on me the take medic aid for the NICU. Biko,I said no but it's like am been too stubborn. That since am paying for my bills and delivery,I should allow medic aid for their NICU. It like am been strong head, they are all saying it's allowed. And that how can I pay for NICU for like 6 weeks. Se I have millions somewhere ,I can't even sleep at all.
Am back home bit my babies are still NICU and I must say they are doing so well and strong,God has been faithful.
Please expert mummies and daddies in the house I need urgent advice ASAP. Crying my eyes out right now plus the fact that am staying in Arlington,40mins drive from the hospital. Any mom around fort Worth or coming in next month willing to share apartment. I just want to be near my babies. No money can buy kids&am grateful to God for double privilege.

Sister,
Please stop crying and save your energy for the babies.
Methinks its too soon to start bickering with people about whether or whedant to take aid on NICU bills when the babies are still there..
Is there a way you can wait till after babies are out to take a decision?
You don't need to be crying at this time... Please and please. My heart goes out to you babe...
It is well with you!

Shaming? Oh dear! Hell No.
Dats not what we r doing. The conditions of birth is clearly based on what each can handle.. Drs no first or last position. So no need for shaming or hailing.
If u r a VD candidate all the way...Fantastic
If u r a successful VBAC patient... Awesome
However if reason demands csection...just please save the child. There aint no James Bond in d matter. Because then u put both ur life ans the babies @ risk.

Sweety, please dry your tears. Crying now is like questioning God. U said they are doin well...so whose to say they must stay 6weeks? Dnt let dat faith that held u all d way frm naija waiver.
I cant say i knw how you feel bt i can say with all certainty that Jesus is on your matter. Please dnt worry for bills yet. His mercies endureth forever.

.

Hactually I hear the pain for CS isnt as bad as that for Myomectomy (Fibroid surgery). So I should be able to 'chest' the CS pain too...by Gods grace.

Temyb my heart goes out to you, but guess what? Your babies are alive and doing well. You are in a trusted system where we are sure both your babies would come out strong and healthy. I don't think they have to stay upto 6weeks tho, they might be discharged a lot earlier (that's what you should be saving your energy praying for now). I watched a program on TLC where the doctors had to deliver the woman of her quadruplets at 31weeks and the babies were discharged to go home with their oxygen tanks.
A mama in the pregnancy thread just lost her baby that came at 34weeks in Nigeria cry cry
When the bill eventually comes, negotiate negotiate negotiate!!! and draw out a payment plan. Its not illegal. Even countries are owing money.
